Portege R500 - configure the parser on the Port Replicator

The system is Portege R500 with a port replicator Port MS Vista running. Port replicator has a Philips 19 "LCD monitor

System has BEEN configured so that when the system was in the duplicator monitor 19 "inches would be active and system monitor is inactive.

But, a few days before the following events occur, when the system is in the port replicator and its turned on screen (the one with the mobile progress indicator) Windows startup is displayed on the Port Replicator monitor, then the screen turns white and displays them on the screen on the monitor system, after entering the desktop on the monitor system.

I live in a remote area, so I can't pop in the store of the local computer to ask for help.

I would appreciate someone to give me some guidance as to where it configures the port replicator monitor configuration. I looked at the section Configuration screen Control Panel but it seems to be the performance of two monitors, it appears not to address the peculiarities of a laptop computer with a port replicator configuration

Thank you

Hello

I have no Portege R500 but I ve used external monitor connected to my Tecra duplicator.
Can you please tell me how you have configured previously?

What is your external monitor set as primary monitor?

  • Portege R500: external monitor does not work with the Port Replicator Port 2 and DVI

I have a Portege R500 running Vista with a slim Port Replicator II and digital monitor Viewsonic.
I connected the monitor to the DVI port on the port replicator and got it to work OK.
Press fn + F5 would switch between the computer screen and the external monitor.

Then it stopped working, and I can't make it work at all. F5 recognizes just the laptop screen.

If I connect an analog display, it is fine, and I can pass between the two screens without difficulty.

The strangest thing is that, if I reboot when the Portege R500 is docked, the digital monitor begins by displaying the boot sequence, but then the signal is lost as soon as the screen stops the display of the progress (in low resolution) bar.

I spent an hour on the phone to support Friday, and he made me nowhere.
They finished by saying that he should never have worked! So what is the DVI port because then?

    Any ideas?

    David

Connect your monitor directly to your laptop and see if it is recognized and you can go through FN + F5 between the two views.
If it works, then connect with port replicator, and then try again.

It's probably best if you reinstall display drivers. Maybe there are new too on the download page.

  • Portege R500 - toggle the display of the laptop to LCD projector screen

Hello - new here, urgent request. We have a meeting, and I use the Portege R500 for the first time with LCD projector which is also a Toshiba.

How do the laptop screen display the projection screen? I thought it was function F5 (Fn + F5), but it does not work.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

Yes, you must use the FN + F5 to switch to the external monitor or external projector, etc.
You must first connect the laptop with a projector, while both devices are turned off.
After connecting the projector you could power the laptop.

Then try to switch to external projector using the FN + F5 key combination

  • Portege M400: Display appears on the side to the Port Replicator

    Hi all

M400 laptop when starting at the port replicator will display the screen on the side. I must then, open the laptop screen and set the display in normal mode. When I'm correct display turn the laptop off and back on the display appears again on the side... Turning on a laptop without port replicator, portable computers the display is correct. What is going on. How to set the default display when in normal port replicator?

    Thank you

These sound like the laptop would turn to Tablet mode after connection to the raplicator port.
I think it has a bad setting in the utility of rotation.
You must enter this utility and check the PC mode and the Tablet PC settings.
I think that the parameters must be defined on primary landscape

In addition, I would recommend checking the Toshiba mobile extension tool that is placed in the control panel.
There is a tab to display change. Here you can activate the service of display change

  • Tecra A10 - poor display through the port replicator

I have an error with one of my clients, they have 3 x Tecra A10 is bought in the last three months, the last time being last week.

I get a very poor screen through the port replicator, lines running through the screen almost like the lines of scanning, or RF interference. It happens on all three laptop configurations.
We have new Phillips 19 "wide and 22" widescreen, I also tried a HP 19 "wide where else in the company. also having the same problem. These monitors are working 100% if hooked up to a computer or DIRECTLY into the laptop A10, as soon as you plug them into the cradle we get lines through the screen.

I'm learning to communicate with the provider in order to replace it, because I have three already do the same thing, I'm pretty sure that I will receive a fourth with the same error.

Someone else has the same problem?
According to me, this issue has been raised on another forum, but was not answered. Does anyone have a solution?

Please can you tell us which port replicator you use and which port replicator port?
BTW: you are an authorized service provider?

  • Problems with the port replicator USB 2.0 after installing Windows XP - SP2

    Hello world

I have a Satellite M30 742 with MS-Windows XP Professional installed. I plugged most of my external devices to him through a port replicator Toshiba USB 2.0. Everything seems to work fine until I installed Service Pack 2.

Therefore, starting my laptop computer is an adventure to recognize random port replicator: usually four USB ports are recognized, but the ports series and parallel, keyboard and mouse ports are ignored, with a message "unknown USB device".

Uninstalling and reinstalling, them or their drivers are a vain effort, since Windows keep ignoring them.

However, in other occasions, they are recognized without problems (even if windows insist on installing their drivers each time that it finds, even if I have already installed a large number of times).

Please, you have an idea to solve this problem * boring * problem?

Thank you very much in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hello

what you might try is to reinstall the chipset driver because I think that the USB is connected to the chipset.

In my opinion the Windows upgrade had changed the pilot USB from Toshiba a MS a. So the Port Replicator is not recognized all the time.

  • Is it possible to use the port replicator with the Satellite Pro series?

    Hello
Is it possible to use the port replicator (Docking Stations) for Tecra series laptop with the Satellite Pro series?

    Hello

No, as far as I know it of not possible to use a port on laptops Satellite Pro Replicator.
All laptops that support the Port Replicator has a port extension at the bottom of the unit.
To my knowledge, the Satellite Pro series don t have this port.
For now only the Tecra and some units Protégé(ie: S100) supports this feature.

  • Problems with an external monitor with the Port Replicator III and M100

    Hey all.

I just returned from a trip where I took my laptop. Plugged into the Port Replicator port, started and everything was fine. Then after an hour or two, the monitor stopped receiving a signal. I repositioned the laptop and everything was good again. He then loses signal once again, and I was not able to get a signal via the port replicator since.

The monitor works fine through the hole at the rear of the M100.

I checked the pins on the Port Replicator port and portable, none folded and tried to clean any dust etc. Still no signal to the monitor.

Someone has ideas of how to do to solve this problem?

    Hello

The Toshiba 3 mobile extension is responsible for the good condition of the duplicator 3 market. Try to reinstall this utility and also check the page of the Toshiba driver for updates.

  • Re: Tecra A10 - USB problem on the port replicator

I have a Tecra A10 and sometimes, when I work with her, the devices USB stopped responding if they are connected to the port replicator.
If I connect them to the laptop, they work fine.

I tried to update the BIOS but now when I turn on the laptop it freezes when Toshiba red letters are displayed on the screen. I can work with the laptop properly deattached starting from port replicator.

Have you tried to load the default settings in the BIOS after the update?

If you have external devices connected to the laptop they remove and try again in the duplicator.
Maybe you should also update your laptop chip set driver. You can find them on the Toshiba site.

  • Tecra A8: Problem with the USB printer connected to the Port Replicator III

    Hi all

I have a problem with my Tecra A8, year Advanced Port Replicator III and a USB printer. With the printer connected to a USB port on the Port Replicator, I have to wait 2 minutes for printing to start. When it is connected directly to a USB port on the laptop and the laptop disconnected from the Port, printing starts immediately. I have the latest drivers from the Isensys of Canon LBP 2900 installed and Windows Vista professional as the operating system.

I called the technical support of my country, but her is not recorded similar problems.

A person with similar problem? Some help would be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Seems like a strange question... Already done the standard procedure in the event of such errors? :)

The standard procedure is somehow similar to the following:

    -Update your BIOS
-Update all the drivers for your machine
    -Update your printer drivers
    -Update your operating system

If all else fails, then try an another Portrep if available, maybe you need to contact your dealer for an another portrep for the test.

Something like this should be your way. And then you sucessfully made a TROUBLESHOOTIN´ ;)

I'd be happy to hear feedback from you on your situation...

    Welcome them

  • X 301 has no sound when connected to the port replicator

    Hello

    We have a x 301 with a port replicator 45 k model 2777-cto 1610.

We first had the problem with the blue screen and not SA of lenovo or IBM might help. I found the solution here.

No, I have a new problem. When the port replicator is connected, there is no sound on the computer? Once the port replicator is unplugged, the sound works well?

Any ideas or advice will be appreciated.

    Eugene

When you connect to the rep of the port, the audio should be routed to the audio port on the default port rep, not your system. There should be a setting via icon taskbar for rep port driver that returns the audio to make of her.

  • audio off when it is associated with the port replicator

I use Windows XP with my Thinkpad T400 and I bought a Lenovo port replicator model k33415 with my computer.  I have a keyboard and a mouse attached to the Port Replicator port as a PDA sometimes.

Whenever the port replicator is connected to the computer, the computer speakers do not work and I hear no audio.   When I restart the computer without the attached port replicator, the computer speakers are working fine.      I've tried everything!    Any ideas?

Hello!  In fact, I fixed it on my own.   Under sound properties I adjusted the audio settings for 'Conexant HD', he made my default device, and under AUdio and then "Advanced", I needed to set speakers to computer speakers.  What I haven't done yet we see if this turns off audio when I unplug the duplicator... so I guess I need to change the default device.   You may not have the same problem, but in any case, good luck!

  • Portege Z30 16 GB with high speed Port Replicator III and two monitors - resolution

I have a Portege Z30 with 16 GB of Ram, connected to a Toshiba high speed Port Replicator III which is connected to two monitors running in mode extended.

The monitor attached to the first section of the video is 1920 x 1200 running.
However the second monitor is only show support for a maximum of 1280 x 1084.

The monitors are identical, and both are connected by DisplayPort cables.

I tried to lower the resolution and save the settings on the first monitor to see if it offered options on the second monitor, but the options remained the same.

At this point, I have narrowed down to 1280 x 1024 so that it conforms to all the monitors but would like to a plus-res solution.

Does anyone know if there is a fix/work-around for this?
If this is a hardware limitation, has anyone tried a USB 3 to DisplayPort adapter in a similar configuration?

    Thank you!

At the same time using two displayports?
I wonder how it is possible, because of my knowledge it is not possible... as far as I know the Port Replicator III supports two DisplayPorts but you could choose and use one of them...

In any case, you can use both with a lower resolution, I guess that this problem can be caused due to incompatible display drivers.
I suggest you to uninstall reinstall or update the display drivers and check if it helps

  • Unable to connect 2 external monitors via the Port Replicator using Portege Z30 - 16U

    Hi all

I need hell, I just moved from another laptop for Portege Z30 - 16U, I spent hours trying to connect my 2 external monitors to my Replicator Port Hi-Speed III 120W, but my laptop will see a monitor.

I used 2 external monitors with my laptop for years because I do a lot or reading and I don't want to use the one and the laptop screen.

I tried the mixture of a VGA and a HDMI and VGA cables, but nothing works.

Can anyone tell me how I can connect and discover 2 external monitors with this laptop and port replicator, I can't believe that this is not possible, it makes no sense that Toshiba would then technilogically behind other laptop manufacturers.

    Thank you

    Hello

I'm not familiar with the Z30 Portreplicator, but the general behavior of the replicators of the double-displayconnector, is that 1 can be used.
    Not 2 simultaneously.

I could be wrong, and you should easily be able to check it out - use only 1 at a time.
    First, then the other.
If the two works when used alone, then my suspicion is right.

    I hope this helps!
