    Hello

    > I downloaded the drivers for VISTA 64 bit, is it safe to use?
Yes, it s safe you can try to install the drivers for the touchpad for Vista in the worst case, you will get an error message that this driver is not compatible or will not work.

But look man there is Win 7 Alps and Synaptics touchpad drivers for Win 7.
The drivers were released for other series of laptop.

There has been no official driver published this work in Windows 7 64 bit. It works fine in 32-bit, windows 7, and using different drivers from other sources + partial + fix can be found.

    Using these drivers:

When the S/PDIF cable is removed the internal speakers make noise for a fraction of a second, then silence.

I tried everything and this issue has been around for months and months, but no perfect solution seems to exist. I was wondering if there is a way to update the drivers of the HD Audio Controller, integrated in Windows 7. Or maybe a hack that allows the internal speakers continue to work (they work for one second!)

  • Problems installing Windows 7 64-bit SP1: "The Installation was not successful" DS_S_SUCCESS (0x0)

I'm unable to install the Windows 7 SP1 on my laptop.  I am running Win 7 64 bit and tried to install the 64-bit SP1 via the feature updates automatic first, then with the SP1 download manually (Windows6. 1 - KB976932 - X 64 .exe).   The progresses to install SP1 to the point where it shuts down the system and it is charging but when I log in I get the dialog Setup SP1 reporting "the Installation was not successful".  By clicking on the link error display shows DS_S_SUCCESS (0x0).

(I followed the steps of troubleshooting 1) by using the Troubleshoot Utility "Difficulty of problems with Windows Update" and 2) installed tool Rediness of updating system, but the installation of SP1 still fails with the same error.

I have successfully applied the SP1 on a different system.  No idea why I have problems with my laptop.

    Any ideas?

    C thx.

Have you checked your hard drive to find errors? Another obscure, you might try is to disable User Account Control temporarily.

Its possible, you need to perform an update of the BIOS if one is available for your ThinkPad T60p. Also, check the updated chipset drivers.

Furthermore, disconnect any non-essential device, you may have attached to the system.

Its possible the SP1 download may be corrupted, I would like to download another copy and try again.

  • PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS 7 64 BIT & PRINTERS

    Hello

My company is replacing all of our window xp machines and we head to widows 7 64-bit. We currently have a print under windows 2003 server.
I downloaded the universal readers of hp windows 7 64 bit, the new drivers for a printer, goes \\servername, view the remote printers on a windows 7 64 bit pc, and adding drivers 64-bit configuration. On the print server, I can see in this printer, additional drivers x 64 windows XP and Windows Server 2003 driver installed.
My first question is that correct? Shouldn´t I see something like windows 7?
After that if I try to add the printer to the pc windows 7, is going to add a wireless network..., select a shared printer name, I always get the error as it is impossible to connect to the printer. Operation failed with error 0x0000007e.
However if I try add, using a tcp/ip address or the hostname of the printer is installed ok.
Is it possible that something to do with the driver? It is not picking up the right one?
    Thanks and rgs,

    Hello

This solution seems to have worked for multiple users.

    Note:

Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

To connect to your server, start "regedit" and go:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printer

And remove the key, "BIDI" again try to install your printer, it should work.

Sorry just missed your post.  22 of the 35 were directly related to the corruption of memory

These accidents were caused by the corruption of memory (probably a driver).  Run these two tests to check your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

    * Don't forget to download any other DMP files (especially those running auditor)

    * If you are overclocking reset all default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!   If you don't know what it means that you're probably not

    1 - Memtest.
    * Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. http://www.memtest.org
    * Boot from the CD and let it run at least 5 or 6 passes.
    * Don't forget, anytime Memtest reports errors, it can be bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.
    * Test the sticks individually and if you find a good, test it in all slots.

Any error is indicative of a memory problem.
If a well-known stick fails in a slot of motherboard, it's probably the slot.

    2. Driver Verifier

Using Driver Verifier is a dubious proposition. Most of the time it will crash and it will tell you what is the driver.

    * But sometimes it will crash and will not tell you the driver.
    * At other times it will crash until you can connect to Windows. If you can't mode without failure, then you will have to resort to editing the registry offline to disable driver verifier.
    * I would suggest that you first back up your data and make sure that you have access to another computer so you can contact us in case of problems.
    * Then do a system restore point (so you can restore the system using the functionality of Vista/Win7 Startup Repair).

    Here is the procedure:

-Go to start and type "auditor" (without the quotes) and press enter
-Select 'Create a custom settings (for code developers)' and click 'Next '.
-Select "Select individual settings from the list complete" and click "Next".
-Select the entire document except for "Low resource Simulation" and click "next".
-Select "Select driver names from a list", then click "next".
    * Select all drivers that are NOT supplied by Microsoft and click on "Next".
-On the next page, select "Finish".
    * Restart the system and wait as he crashed to blue screen.
    * Continue to use your system normally and if you know what are the causes of the crash, do it several times. The objective here is to get the system crash because Driver Verifier is stressing out the drivers. If it is not planted for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.
    * If you are unable to Windows because it crashes too early, try safe mode.
    * If you can't mode without fail, try to use the system from the installation DVD restore to bring the system back to the previous point of restoration that you created.

  • Problem installing Windows 7 64 bit

Bought a Windows 7 home premium 64-bit, the laptop does not allow installation needs, 32-bit, how can I fix this with out having to go buy another package with 32-bit?

Laptop is a HP Pavillion DV6 notebook currently loaded with vista.

I have an another complete windows 7 64-bit office cd that is loaded on my other laptop I install using this cd and just put in the new serial number for the package first home?

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Activation of Windows 7 64-bit issue,

Do I have to buy another copy of the operating system, in order to test my designs of software on another computer, or can it be solved otherwise? Help, please.

It's the (Windows 7 64-bit) operating system or the software that is installed by giving you the activation number?

Each installation of Windows 7 must be activated, that peer machine license. If you are using a license that was already being used elsewhere, then you must purchase a new license.

I would like to move from XP to Windows 7. The recommended RAM size is 2 GB. My R500 is equipped with 2 x 512 MB RAM modules. The manual says I can replace it with a 1 GB module. My question is if I can replace it by a 2 GB (or even 4 GB) module instead? If not, is it possible to change the module on the main Board, or which is fixed?

    Thanks for your help.

In my view, that there is another problem. According to specification for laptop, your laptop can handle with max 1 536 MB so I think it does not make sense to change the internal memory if value max is 1 536 MB only.

    Hi mate,

What version of Windows XP you are trying to install? Windows XP Professional or Tablet edition? You have the available recovery? If Yes, then you should use it :)

If not, you should check if there could be maybe something with the Tablet thing. It s just a hint, so I'm sorry that I Don t have a real good solution...

  • Satellite P300 - problem on Windows 7 32 bit card reader

    Hi guys,.

installed Win 7, 32 bit. Installed drivers of the devices of ll, no errors in Device Manager.

But by Windows session (start / stop) I can only use the O2 card reader (SDHC Sandisk 16 Gb) once.
No matter if I just pull out the card or use the "Windows cleaner" way to eject of the plateau, the next time this same session if I insert the card, without drive letter is created in Windows Explorer.

If I look in Device Manager then, an error 38 with exclamation point is presented, based on "pilot has been loaded before but not discharged.

Then I can just have a glance at the card again if I have first to restart Windows. Becoming a very annoying problem, because I tend to have the laptop on standby, do not close normally.

    Is there advice here?

    Hey,.

Have you tried to update the driver of the card reader? If not you should do this because normally the error code 38 means that the driver can t be loaded for this device correctly. Resettlement should work

  • Print Spooler Problems in Windows 7 32 bit

I just upgraded my Dell Inspiron 1526 Vista Home Premium 32-bit, that I never had a problem with, for Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. All my files and programs were very good, but my printer settings seem to be spoiled. I get the message that the print spooler stops so unexpected and got the error code: 0x000006be. I saw on a forum Vista how to go manually turn on the print spooler and ensure that it was in automatic mode. Then, I started it, and he said that it was automatic, but I tried to install my printer again and it stopped again. Help, please. For now, I'm not so sure that's a good idea to upgrade. And the printer is brand new - it's a Canon PIXMA MP 250. I just bought a few weeks ago and had no problems with it in Vista. Thanks for your suggestions, you can give.
