Portege R700 - registration of fingerprints on Windows 7

I had problems trying to get the fingerprint utility to work on my new laptop to test. I created a new version of SCCM and associated task sequence that includes the utility.
However when I run the utility of fingerprinting for the first time that the finger prompt appears that I can't ignore to record any finger prints?
I'm using version 1.0.2.32 on Windows 7.

Any help much appreciated.

Have you read details of setting up fingerprints in the second user manual?
In use, the system of fingerprint authentication will use the same username and password as defined in the windows OS. If no windows password has been configured, you must do before you begin the process of registering fingerprints.

Click on start-> all programs-> utilities Toshiba-> Toshiba Fingerprint Utility click the icon in the taskbar.
The registration screen appears. Enter the password for the current account on the windows password field. If no windows password has been configured, you will be asked to configure the logon password. And then click Next.
Click the finger did not enter above the finger you want to save, and then click Next
The note go registration operation appears on the screen. Respect the message and then click Next.
Then analyzing practice screen. You are able to practice hitting swipe (three times) your fingers to make sure that you use the correct method. When you are finished, click Next.
Brush three times with the same finger. If successful, the message is displayed. Then click OK

More details you will find on page 82 of the user manual

After a few seconds, the restart process is launched and load... the current Windows 7 system, saying that there was an error during the upgrade process.

    Hello

I assume you mean on the fonts in Internet Explorer window.
    Right?

Please check the display option in the menu bar. Zoom must be set to 100% and Textsize must be set to medium.
In addition, you can check the settings in the control panel-> display-> appearance tab
There is option called the size of the font. In my case it s set to normal.

    Give it a try.

  • Portege R700 - recognition of fingerprints does not recognize my fingers

My recognition of fingerprints has worked for a day about. Now, it does not recognize my fingers (3 registered). When I go in utility prints/utilities-Toshiba digital displays with a fingerprint window Panel, indicating that he needs my fingerprints until I have access to the control panel. It will not accept my footprint so I select to close the window and leaves the control panel.

When I visit different websites they say it is ready (on a yellow sign) and I keep having to say cancel because I fear it will record and then leaves me not in the Web site.

It was such a bad experience I just go into the control panel and disable. How do I do that?

  • How to reset the sensor of fingerprint on Portege R700-174?

    Hello!

    my "problem":

on my portege (r700-174), I run a win7 (which was preinstalled on your laptop), a victory for 8.1. and for some is true the technical preview of win10

all systems are protected by password and fingerprints.

also the win10-test system (for test prints digital-utility in win10)

now, I deleted an old generation of win10 and do a new install with the latest version

Unfortunately I forgort to cancel the registration of the fingerprint I had entered with this old win10 - so now this finger cannot be used
to be entered for the new win10 (or any other system)

    My question

is it possible to reset it completely (clear all the fingerprints for all systems) the fingerprintscanner out of one of my systems running or to cancel the registration of the
Fingerprints for this system, which does not exist anymore on my portege?

    Thanks for the tips

    Kurt

The fingerprints are stored on the fingerprint sensor and you will need to follow the instructions of this Toshiba document to remove your scans of fingerprints.
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/support/items/FAQ/386

In the case that this procedure does not work, only the Toshiba certified maintainer would be able to erase fingerprints users digital related privacy information on the fingerprint sensor fingerprint flash.

  • Portege R700, Windows 7, mounted sudden fan/cpu, freeze and force stop

    Hello

I have a persistent problem that starts to become annoying... Portege 700 running Windows 7. Normal use (office, WMP, IE anything heavy)

No apparent reason (no new requests started for example), there is a sudden increase in the speed of the fan which should be max (looks it takes off) and I suspect use of the processor at the same time. And it's that it's not simply to stop (I left for awhile on occasion) and does not match an input (keyboard or mouse). The only 'solution' is to use the power button to force a shutdown. (And then I lose all cookies etc. when starting again).

I did a lot of Googling on that. Thought it was WMP network sharing Service and has taken measures to see, but have recently disabled that service and still the problem occurs... (I checked that it is always disabled when just rebooted).

I keep as 'clean' as I can (have AV installed, use ccleaner regularly etc etc) so would be surprised if a virus/worm, but am running a scan again just in case...

This happens quite often be a pain - and I have no idea what is the cause, if any ideas gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Portege R700 - upgrade Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit and memory question

I recently bought Portge R700 and am disappointed by the memory. I have a license of Windows 7 64-bit edition: what problems can arise if I update? Once installed, I can then use 8 MB of RAM.

Moreover, I found the reagrding misleading Web site the option of using the 8 MB of RAM with the32-bit OS. I have 4Mb installed, years to see that only 2.86 MB is usable.

I get "out of memory" messages and would like to know how to allocate more memory to live for video.

Tom's right. If you want to use the 64-bit operating system, you must do clean install operating system. All drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities must be installed Additionally one by one.
If you need assistance with installing Win7 let us know.

I put t know for what purposes do you use your laptop and what applications are important for your daily work, but, in general, I don t think you will have problems using 64 bit OS. Please keep in mind that all additional software is 64-bit capable and everything will be OK.

As far as I know laptop user doesn't have the influence of the use of video memory and it runs automatically. It is unclear to me that you can change these settings and set how much RAM can be used for video operations.

Anyway, Portege R700 is nice for laptop with sufficient power for daily use and also for use with standard applications. I don t think you ve bought this laptop for games.

  • Portege R700 - install Windows 7 via Windows Deployment Services - error

    Hello

I have a set of 8 Portege R700 PT310-E computer laptop on which I need to install Windows 7 Professional. I want to do this by using our company Windows deployment server (using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 to generate the image). While it is loading all software, our company uses.

I have been using the version 32 bit Windows 7 and do a PXE boot from the server. The problem I encountered is that when the laptop starts the installation of the server image. It loads successfully, but does not because it can't find the network device.

What I find strange that I loaded all R700 network drivers in the boot.wim file. I also tried to download all Windows 7 Pro LAN drivers remaining on the Intel site and load those as well as the pilot on the Toshiba site, but it has also generated the same error.

Someone at - it experience to install via WDS on the R700 model? Is there a fix for this, because we are very impressed by these laptops, but being only unable to install via WDS is more annoying.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Portege R700-17Z - upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

    I currently have a Toshiba Portege R700-17Z.

I want to increase the amount of RAM from 2 GB to 8 GB, and therefore I want to run 64-bit Windows. I was planning on running a clean reinstall, but 64-bit Windows built into this machine? Or I need a disk full?

If I need a drive in its own right, any ideas on how to do it without an optical drive?

    Thank you very much!

The first news on RAM upgrade: you're right. You can upgrade your Portege up to 8 GB and 4 GB compatible modules have part number PA3677U-1M4G.

According to the specifications of the laptop your Portege shipped with WIN7 32 BIT PROFESSIONAL, but it is supported for Win7 64 bit. 64-bit drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utility can be downloaded from the Toshiba download page.

Now what is your decision? If you need assistance with installing the OS let us know.
