Portege R830: How to get Nero Express install files?

Dear all,

Since I bought my R830 I was not completely "satisfied" iso image by default - IMHO, there was just too much 'extras' for a business laptop. To get rid of him, I decided to wipe the hard drive and install it "clean" windows + drivers + apps that I use really.

The only piece of SW that I'm missing is Nero - it is not available on the Download Center, or on the recovery DVDs (I created previously).

Can someone help me?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards
Robert

Hello

You can download only the own drivers from Toshiba and the tools.

The image of Toshiba contains some additional 3rd party software that are preinstalled on the laptop but these tools and software are not downloadable and will not be judged on the Toshiba driver page

So if you want to use the software, you must install the operating system using the Toshiba recovery disc.

  • Portege R830 - problems of 3G connection after installing Win 7 32 bit

    Hello

I went down a Portege R830 Windows 7 64 bit for Windows 7 32 bit with drivers of Toshiba. I put a SIM from my provider.
In the windows Network Manager, 7 and in the Toshiba Wireless Manager I can see the right provider and HSPA network but when I start the connection, it does not (I don't have a PIN code).

It is failed with Windows 7 Network Manager and Manager Toshiba wireless (I don't have this problem with the Portege R700 windows 7 32bits)

But I found a small solution (but I think that's not enough):
    I have created a dial-up connection, with a number * 99 #,.
I started the connection, it does not happen, but after that, when I raise my first connection is good.

I don't know why, it's as if the modem is in sleep and the dial-up connection wake-up the modem, because after all is good (win7 Network Manager, Manager wireless Toshiba) so if I reboot the Portege.

I want to avoid the dial-up connection on my r700 portege with 32-bit windows 7

Thanks for your help and sorry for my English.
support for the toshiba told me to reinstall windows 7 64 bit to solve the problem :)

    Hello

I found something that may be of interest to you. It is about 3 G on your laptop:

When you insert SIM the laptop must be turned off, because normally hot - plug the SIM card does not work
The 3G module is set on/OFF with the cut-out like the other two standards wireless WLAN and BT wireless
By default, the wireless switch is set to OFF
Your laptop is preinstalled new FN + F8 tool with which you can switch all devices or on/OFF switch, none of the 3 devices individually
After each start of the laptop (if the message was not disabled) there will be an information window informing you that the 3G antenna shuts off if the Tablet PC is used in secondary portrait mode (for Tablet laptop computer only)

Please check it and also read s manuals carefully. It must be described how to use 3G on your laptop Portege.

  • How to get outlook express to stop asking Compact messages

How can I get outlook express to stop asking Compact messages

    * If you use not OE, or you leave compact and always see command prompt, post-bac. You have one from different then I wil describe.*

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

Compacting your folders periodically is a must to keep OE works fine and at some point, you may lose all your saved messages if you do not. When you delete or move messages, the space they used remains until you compact.

Never touch anything until the compression is finished.* *.

    See:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

With SP2, Automatic compaction in the background has been removed because of problems he has caused. Now, you will get a prompt to compact after 100 closures of OE, you need to do, and do not touch anything until it's finished. If you compact manually, at your convenience, this will also set the counter to zero. See this for more information:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

If you are fully patched, you will now see a copy of your dbx files copied to the Recycle Bin as BAK files. If something goes wrong when compacting, the messages can be easily restored from this backup. A compact manual resets also the counter in the back of the registry to zero now.

For more information, see the information framed in red here:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

To keep things running smooth and harden faster:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. It will eventually become corrupt and you may lose mail. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    And backup often.

A standard API to access the properties of OS level should work, if you're looking beyond that, custom implementation or a third party library should be used.

Non-Toshiba tools and software that are part of the image of preinstalled Toshiba cannot be downloaded separately. You can use this software only as part of image of Toshiba.
If you have installed your own system, you must purchase the software.

  • Portege R400 - how to get the fingerprint device to HDD unlock

    Portege R400 model PPR40E-00901LEN

I've had this laptop since 2007 new (approximately). I put the BIOS and disk passwords HARD and the biometric to unlock the BIOS, HARD and Vista drive. It worked well until recently. Result of an incident when someone tried to crack into the machine, it unlocks is no longer the HARD drive

The attacker confessed to the use of BACKSPACE to work around the footprint digital, correctly guessed the password of BIOS and going on to make several attempts to enter the HDD password.

Now when I try to access the computer by using the fingerprint reader, it unlocks the BIOS ok, so he remembers clearly to me. However, it is not open HARD drive. Apparenlty the fact that 3 + failures to enter the master password disk HARD text forces text of this password and no biometric entry. At least, there seems to be something like that.

    My questions are

    (1) in these circumstances, the BIOS anterio-rite the biometric to forget the HARD drive password?

    (2) or is still piometric my disk HARD but the BIOS password feature is not asking him?

    (3) if 3 or something similar, so this password is always in the biometirc device, how to tell the device to provide this password?

Please note that I can't in the BIOS right now, because do not unlock the HARD drive prevents the POSITION to perform.

Of course, I know what I really need to do is type the HARD drive password. Unfortunately in about four years, I forgot it. I hope that I can get into the BIOS if I remove the HARD drive physically, but wonder if there is something else I should do first in order to avoid making things worse.

    Thanks to hope

  • Portege 3410 - how to update BIOS and install XP?

Hello, I have two questions on Portege 3410.

First: I can't update the BIOS (current usage, 1.50 there, I want to update to 1.60). Instruction does not work: I connect Teac USB into USB port, turn on the USB - FDD emulation to activate, portable switch with pressed F12, the message «Ready to update BIOS...» "appears, I touch in a hurry, but nothing happened. What's wrong?

The other: I can't install Windows XP on laptop (it does not start from USB disk or external USB DVD drive).
    How can I install Windows?

    Thank you.
    Mikhail

    Hello

Just a question: why do you want to update the BIOS? Is this really necessary?
I ask this question because this update is always somewhat risky and you might damage it ROM module
In any case, have you tried to load the default settings in the BIOS before you start the update and install XP?

You can install XP without CD. Therefore, you must copy the folder i386 on the HARD drive from another computer and the boot to the HARD drive files, I think you need a little search with Google to find a workaround for this. You should find enough! ;)

  • Vista OEM 32-bit - how to get 64-bit install disk - Satellite X 200/N00

I have a Satellite X 200/N00 bought earlier this year. It came with OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate pre-installed.

This worked particularly well but for various reasons, I want to run Vista 64-bit.

If you purchase a retail version of Vista Ultimate, it comes with the 32-bit & 64-bit versions in the box.
How can Toshiba offer 64-bit version as part of their OEM license, and if so, I get a copy?

All the disks proposed by Toshiba can be ordered by https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
I don't think Toshiba offers 64-bit version for your model of laptop, but you can check it.
