Portege R930 - BSOD when connecting monitor high resolution with HDMI port

Hello.

I have a Portege R930 (pt331a-01w001) running Windows 7. All about the laptop works as expected, however, when I connect the laptop on a screen high resolution (2560 x 1440) via the HDMI port, I get a blue screen of death.
Can I use the HDMI port to connect my 1080 p LCD TV and my monitor to work which is a lower resolution and it works well.

I tried several cables and different monitors of the same resolution.

If anyone can help?

Hello

Simply said: the laptop not breaks down using external monitor with a less than 2560 x 1440 resolution. Right?

Find your laptop model.

and it seems that the device supports the Chipset Intel® QM77 Express and Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator QM77

I recommend updating the graphics card driver.
You will find the page of the Toshiba Intel display driver v8.15.10.2712 (Win 7)
Also, you could test the version downloaded from the Intel page.

The default resolution and "recommended" for my two monitors lenovo is 1920 x 1080. I have a new system and I tried for a few weeks now to something to work with screen resolution and third-party apps. I am under W7 Pro right now, but will soon be getting to 10.

The high resolution is not a problem in 7 with any Microsoft stuff. With the help of a custom of the DPI setting takes care of all the native stuff. Some third-party applications can be set as well. For example, Corel Photo Paint X 7 has bars of detachable command with command icons that can be set to small, medium or large. When the size of the icon is changed, the size of the font adjusts accordingly and it is perfectly feasible, acknowledging the icons or by reading the text. It is perfect for this dual screen system and works like a charm.

However, most of other software companies are not quite as respectful of their clients. Bryce, formerly owned by Corel, but now DAZ despicable, is not removable toolbars and there is no options available to adjust the sizes of icons in order. Even if preferences to provide an engaging, multiple monitor option not to release the toolbars or increase the font size. It only opens the Bryce "Labs" in the second monitor in a position at the end of the dialog box, half of the Cup.

It also applies even in a top of the range of applications such as VIEW and Smith Micro, Poser Pro. They present menus and toolbar icons that are so tiny, it is necessary to use the Magnifier Microsoft to make and which isn't real solution when your work with graphics programs. It's incredibly awkward.

My old system, running XP Pro, SP3, which I always put in place and operational, has a screen resolution of 1280 X 768, and it displays all the software of third party very well. If I try to use this resolution with W7 and these monitors high resolution, I get a crushed image down and half on the screen which is useless. I can read everything very well, but all images are short and fat! If it was possible to type values for the height and width, using an infinite scale rather than the fixed scale that is provided by the slider over, nicked in W7, it would be possible to find a combination that worked. Then, once the wreck was set for third party stuff, the custom DPI settings Windows could take care of the native stuff.

I had an Oracle VirtualBox running for awhile and loaded the third of things out there and it worked for awhile but it did not offer the ability double screen and, in any case, after awhile it started to get really uptight and I finally just had to get rid of.

Really, I would be much happier if I could just load XP Pro on this machine and do run as quickly as things that made to run on it. The only reason why I got a new system was the need for more speed and muscle. But if I can't use my favorite, applications worth it?

Is there no workaround solution that will make it possible to adjust the resolution so that the third-party applications are fully functional using all the space on the screen?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and respond.

Since no one answered I'll provide the solution myself. Doing right thing 'upgrade' to Windows 10 has this problem of resolution.

Other than that, getting W10 to work even at halfway was a nightmare.

  • Dedicated GPU will accelerate LR4 to drive a monitor high resolution?

I plan to order new custom made Win7 Office based on i7 3770K and Asus P8Z77 mobo. The monitor will be wide range 27 "with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. I am aware of the complications caused by these monitors, but decided to choose.

My main and most demanding application for this office will be LR4 (no CS6, games, videos, etc.). To optimize its performance I'll have 16 MB of RAM, a second SSD and SSD for the OS and LR4 app cache, previews and catalogues + 2 TB HDD for storage of the image.

Current version LR4.3 is always claimed 1) be slow in the conduct of monitors high resolution and 2) not to use the GPU effectively.

Mobo Asus with 3770 K/HD4000 is specified to be able to drive a monitor with above resolution through its DisplayPort. However, LR4 would be faster if I would add a decent dedicated GPU for the monitor?

In which case the answer is no, would be an addition of the smaller second monitor (1920 x 1080 max resolution) above Set up change the situation and make a dedicated GPU beneficiary? Basically Asus mobo 3770 K/HD4000 by specifications can also simultaneously drive two monitors with above resolution. However, my concern is slow LR4...

    Thanks for any help.

    Lightroom does not GPU.

You can have other reasons (video games) to add a GPU, but don't get to Lightroom.

  • The Apple Magic Keyboard can operate without bluetooth when connected to an iPad with the lightning to the USB camera adapter?

The Apple Magic Keyboard can operate without bluetooth when connected to an iPad with the lightning to the USB camera adapter?

I love the Apple Magic Keyboard to be very light (I want it with me everywhere). I also like that I can choose the layout of the keyboard I want (Canadian multilingual), which is not available on any keyboard for any brand, with the exception of Apple iPad (and I did a ton of research). I have problems with the old model of keyboard Apple Wireless because of the Bluetooth connection: I often have trouble connecting. I want a reliable keyboard. I don't like having to plug the keyboard on the iPad, and I think that a wired keyboard can more reliable and safer than a wireless keyboard. And a wired keyboard never had battery problems.

I read that the Apple Magic Keyboard can work wired with a Mac without bluetooth. And I read that some USB keyboards work with lightning to the USB camera adapter. There are several keyboards with a cable (Belkin or Logitech) lightning, but none with the available Canadian multilingual.

So, if I buy a magical keyboard Apple and a Flash to the USB adapter of the camera, according to my needs, I'll be satisfied or I'm going to be disappointed?

A better solution would be to have a male-male cable lightning between the keyboard and the iPad, but I don't find any of these products anywhere.

    Thank you.

It will not work. And where did you read that the keyboard works wired with a Mac?

  • Photoshop CS5 menu text microscopic! (monitor high resolution)

    Hello

You do not know if I made the right choice or not, but I've owned a copy of Photoshop CS5 Extended for a period of time. Honestly, as a photographer passionate home / amateur, it is more than enough for me - don't know what who exactly I am losers 'full cloud"or opt for the basic option flat by but I tell myself that I already own a license for a product which is already WAY above my skill level, why spend more money.

Just replaced my machine and the new has come up with a new NVidia Quadro card turn off the true 4K via a DisplayPort connection, and I invested in a monitor Eizo of 4K (4096 x 2160) complete which honestly, is beautiful.

HOWEVER... I installed Photoshop and the menu items are microscopic. So small I have to scan the screen to read. in 'Preferences', I already put the size of the font of the user interface of 'big' well I noticed I put 'small' or 'large' makes no difference. The drop down menus are more readable (OK, actually), it's the top-level menus by default (the Ribbon on the top bars of tools and panels of rights, etc.) which are too small to use comfortably.

I am running Windows 10 Pro on a screen high resolution. What is a conflict between the police-scaling of the APP (that I bought when Windows 7 is the current MS OS) and application? Or something else?

FYI, all my other apps I use respond very well the text scaling of Windows settings. I have the native resolution of 4096 x 2160 value and the scaling of text set to 175%.

Any ideas would be very appreciated.

    Thanks guys,.

    Alastair

If you use Windows, you really need a CC subscription to fully support high DPI screens.  The photography is a trivial $10 per month for Photoshop and Lightroom and a ton of items of value such as TypeKit, libraries (fully interactive with the Adobe Mobile applications) and some very cool new features that are continually being added to and updated.  In addition, you should never took native support for new cameras.

  • NB550D - BSOD when connected to Wi - Fi

    Hi guys

I bought my NB550d year last to take the os on a school trip. Love everything about her, except for one thing. I'm going crazy trying to solve this problem. Any help would be great.

I constantly get a BSOD when I'm on the net. There is nothing that it freeze, abandonment, crash 10 times in 10 minutes. Often, I have to remove battery to reboot. I took it to the population of warranty but they said it worked well and charged me 1/4 of what the machine purchase cost for the privilege!

I went to China and it worked like a trooper bit no problem connecting to wifi it etc. He took on vacation no problems using my USB mobile internet. It made me rethink my router/modem (series 5200n billion) can be the question disconnected it and used my old 'G' router and separate modem worked well (does everyone else slow we can have 4 laptops connected at the same time) This reminds me of the wifi card is the question. I have the latest drivers etc, but still no joy. NO other laptop has this connection problem in our House (they are all toshibas)

Someone at - it suggestions as to the best way to solve this problem? Don't really want to go back with speeds etc for other users simply because mine is having a hissing fit.

Happy to replace routers cards etc but would like to know exactly who's going to solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Narnie

    Hello Narnie

On this virtual path is not easy to say what can be the problem. We put t know exactly the configuration of netbook, but with the settings, it should work fine.
For three months, I have NB550D-112 and it works perfectly with my home WLAN. No problem at all.

As I see that you also use mobile internet USB. I assume that you have installed additional software for this. Perhaps here is some conflicts. Who knows?
What we do here, it's just to speculate on your BSOD problem.

In my opinion, you should set your netbook to factory settings and test several days with your WLAN home and without having to install additional stuff except regular and important updates from Microsoft.

By the way: what BSOD error is shown?

  • How to improve latency when using images high resolution

I use a lot of images high resolution in my iBook, which creates a lot of lag when using author ibooks.  I have an end of 2015 with skylake processor i7 iMac and a decent amount of video ram.  Is it possible to improve this gap without use the workarounds like spreading the images until the end?  This is a limitation of the application?  I am able to work with images in Lightroom quickly with little or no lag, why I have this experience with ibooks author?

It was common to use the placeholder images while editing, simply because of the question, you say.

Regarding the ram, better for computer max (video ram isn't the issue) in all cases, but with the new Macs after having soldered to the ram, which can be difficult to correct after the purchase.

Shame to see iBA still suffers this awkwardness, but oh well.

  • PS CC2014 window toolbar text and graphic scaling with a monitor high resolution (2560 x 1440)

I just installed a BenQ GW2765ht monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1440.  In win 8.1, toolbars, etc text size are too small.  Is there a PS CC2014 parameter that will expand the text of the toolbar etc. while leaving the graphics window to the native resolution?

Have you tried the preference CC 2014 that 2 X UI on your Photoshop machine it dimensionnera UI but always use image high resolution display for you.  It fits me like Photoshop UI running on a 1280 x 720 display, the user interface will be great, especially to fix a screen you put toolbar in column mode two it will fit.

  • Suréchantillonne assets when exporting to higher resolutions?

How assets dimensionnera when I select 2 version x of an asset when I design at 1 x resolution?

Layers and layer groups are re-renderings in Photoshop in the resolution requested before create us an asset for the requested resolution (see the question below for how we make smart objects).

Assets requested of vector layers are graduated in vector space before they re-renderings to the requested resolution. If a raster layer or a layer group is less than the requested resolution we cadence in Photoshop using the algorithm of Interpolation of the Image defined in the preferences > General > Interpolation of Image (the default value is automatic bicubic).

Layers or layer groups which are output as SVG are independent of the resolution if they contain vector shapes. If SVG contains rasterized images (which are included online by using the Base64 encoding) they are not independent of the resolution. Currently these images are not scaled to higher resolutions, but it is a bug, which we hope to be able to fix it with the next version of dot.

  • Doubt on the export of pages in JPG format at high resolution with Indesign

    Hello

I use to work two software, your skill of QuarkXpress and Indesign. If I had to choose one, I prefer Indesign, it is very nice and I love it, but I have to work with the software.

Well, I have a doubt about the use of Indesign method to export a page in JPG, high-resolution, because QuarkXpress do the same job, but in a different way, so my doubt is about the quality of the files produced.

It is a very technical issue, if someone with experience in the professional press and print or an Adobe expert could answer, I would be grateful.

InDesign, producing a poor quality file or QuarkXpress that producing a poor quality file?

    My question is as follows:

I opened a document in Indesign, and I decide to export it. To simplify things, we have a unique page DIN A4 document.

So I tell Indesign to export the pageand I want a JPG, high-resolution 300 DPI file.

Indesign do his job very well, and produce the file exported. This is a JPG file, there are 300 dpi.

If I open the document in Photoshopand I'm going to... Image of ... Image size...

I see the Indesign document indicates the exact measurements of a DIN A4 210 x 297 mm and the resolution of the file, I have 300 DPI.

Therefore seems to be that indesign has done a great job.

    Very well.

Now, I explain what is happening with QuarkXpress.

I do the same thing, I have a document to a single page, DIN A4 and I export it as JPG format at high resolution of 300 dpi.

Well, now QuarkXpress, create the file and I open the file in Photoshop.

    Surprise.

The file has larger than DIN A4 and a lower resolution dimensions!

Exactly, QuarkXpress produce a jpg of the following dimensions: 874,89 x 1237,9 mm and a resolution of 72 dpi

When I see 72 dpi, I think that the document is in low resolution. However, I have a larger document?

I open the QuarkXpress file in Photoshop, then I uncheck resampling, in this way Photoshop will never change the image. Now, I change the value of resolution of 72 dpi, 300 dpi, which is the value I want.

And what happens? What happens is that I get a document with measurements of a DIN A4 and also at 300 DPI.

    ???

So basically QuarkXpress does the same work in Indesign, but in a different way.

The file QuarkXpress are 2.29 MB more or less. The Indesign file are 3.84 MB more or less.

    So why these differences?

Which method is the best and why Indesign produce a different file to QuarkXpresss?

    See you soon

As far as I know, the ppi is not the required metadata for the images.

So Im guessing that Quark exports jpg ppi worthless.

But Photoshop is to assign a value of ppi when it opens an image without specified ppi value.

This value is be 72, but it could be anything, because the pixel dimensions do not change.

    Hi alexn,.

If your subscription includes Mobile with Lightroom, you can create collections to synchronize the images needed and to make this collection public so that others can see these images although will not images high resolution.

Intelligent previews of these images will be synchronized.
