    Hello

I am wanting to upgrade a laptop Toshiba-Portege-z30-a-10w of company SSD 128 to 512 SSD
However when loading windows 7, it crashes when connecting with a blue screen error 0x00000001

    and according to the
    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/compat...Tege-Z30-a-10W

It is compatible with the Toshiba portege-z30-a-10w
I've updated the BIOS of the laptop to V4 30/04/2015 (which to my knowledge is the most recent)

Moreover I have updated the firmware on the SSD 512 to what, in my view, is the last

  • Portege Z30 - how to create the new partition on SSD

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Portege Z30 with a 512 MB SSD. In addition to the C partition, I would D for the work and E for personal stuff.

By default, the laptop came with only C, but the disc already has 4 partitions:
-a healthy active recovery of 1.46 GB partition
    -c a partition
    -a 16 GB Hibernation partition
-a healthy 11.55 GB primary partition called drive HARD recovery when I use MiniTool Partition Wizzard

I managed to get 300 GB of unallocated space, but I can not use this space to create D and E, apparently because the MBR does not support more than 4 partitions.

Question: should I have all these partitions Toshiba? Is there a workaround for D and E? Can I create a USB drive recovery system and get rid of the recovery partition?

    Thank you

Before starting any discussion, I hope you didn t screwed up something. Why?

When you get laptop it has the factory settings and just with the factory settings, you will be able to create a media recovery (DVD or USB depending on the model). I hope this isn't too late now.

Try to create a recovery media as soon as possible please.
Post it please comment how it works. I hope that everything will be OK.

  • Portege Z30 & R30 - notice to owners + question about SSD upgrade

HI - need some advice please.

I am looking to replace a laptop existing and have narrowed down the choice to a Portege R30 or Z30.

There are owners out there with a view on another machine? I read all the comments: this is the point of view of any beneficial owners I'm after. Reliability, ease of use in particular. Has anyone replaced a battery on a Z30? That sort of thing.

There is a lot of money for me to spend - so I would really appreciate the help.

Having said that I'm torn between the two models - I'm leaning a little towards the Z30 - but the standard SSD is too small. I am aware that the SSD is mSATA and which does not limit what he can be replaced by. I'm a big fan of the EVO series - and there's an mSATA SSD available in sizes up to 1 TB.

Although there is not much information online - it was suggested that the current BIOS on the Z30 does not recognize mSATA SSD more than 512 MB.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks a lot, a lot.

Unfortunately, I m not Portege Z30 owner but I want to share my knowledge on this unit.
The Portege Z30 upgrade is a little tricky.
First to get access to the battery and the memory modules and mSATA low cover should be removed.

This means that you lose the warranty if you remove this cover.
I guess that it s not worth the warranty having such expensive unit.

By the way: models are equipped with a type mSATA ' Solid State Drive (SSD) "128 GB/256/512 GB
But this does not mean that the biggest mSATA modules are not supported. To be honest, this detail isn't known to me, but I think that the controller should be able to handle larger sizes too.

  • Portege Z30 poster ipv4 and ipv6 - only pxe boot is

    Hi all

    Toshiba Portege Z30

We do all our installs via PXE, when you press F12 I get now two network options where normally I would just get a.

    F12 gives the following options:

    HDD/SSD: SAMSUNG SSD SERIES
    LAN1: IPv6
    LAN2: IPv4

When I select the option I get what follows read (IP addresses were not included, but are correctly pointing to the right servers):

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    > On IPv4 PXE boot.
IP address of the station is *. ***. ***. ***
IP address of the server is *. ***. ***. ***
    NBP filename is SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com
The NBP file size is 30832 bytes
    Download the NBP...

Succeed to download the NBP file.

    Download the NBP...

Succeed to download the NBP file.
    Press a key to continue...
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried searching through the BIOS settings but can't find nothing obvious

Can any advise if there is anything I can try to get this laptop to perform a PXE boot please

Let me know if you need additional information

    Kind regards
    Steve

Looks like your server isn't aware UEFI.
Try changing the the CSM UEFI Boot Mode in the BIOS under the Advanced tab, under System Configuration. You may have to disable Secure Boot first.

  • Portege Z30 - A - PXE Media test failure, check cable of

    Hello everyone,
Here's my problem: two days ago my Toshiba Portege Z30 - A turns off suddenly, and when it has reactivated the instead of displaying the usual Windows Home page at he showed a black screen with these lines written:

    'Intel(r) Boot Agent GE v1.5.43
    Copyright (C) Intel Corporation 1997-2013

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.
    Insert system disk in drive.
Press any key when ready... »

And every time I turn it on it displays this screen again.
Why is it like that? What should I do?

    Thank you very much
    Stefano

It seems that the system does not recognize your ssd more. Usually, the hard/SSD is the first bootdevice and whether it is empty or does not exist, it will jump to usb or networkboot. PXE = networkboot

Try to start with a live-stick and the check if you can access your SSD. Also see, if the bios/efi does not recognize the drive.

Worse: all your data is lost... (I hope you have a backup)
the positive: this question must be covered by the guarantee! If you are still in the first year and registered for the guarantee of reliability, you get your laptop repaired and all your money. xD

  • Fingerprints on the Portege Z30-A-12 q utility does not work

    Hello

I need help with this issue:

I have installed fresh windows 8.1, the same version as before, but this time I chose UEFI on BIOS. When I used the BIOS the fingerprint sensor was working fine, but now it says "unable to connect to the probe.

I use Toshiba Portege Z30-A-12 q i5-4200 256 GB SSD, or PT243E model. I've searched the forums and found a similar problem with another Toshiba R product that was resolved by adding an exception to the firewall.

Utility of fingerprinting with the exception of firewall, even disabled firewall all the way, but always the same problem, I added. In Device Manager, I have biometric sensors (WBF) (PID = 0010) validity under devices.

I also checked in the BIOS to see if it it turned on and it is.
The only thing I changed in the BIOS are Secureboot (is on) and has chosen CSM (UEFI), but I think that these settings are not relevant to the problem because they are used for starting.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver 3 times.

Please help me with this problem.
    Thank you very much
    Andrei Colombi

UEFI / start MSC mode has no influence on the fingerprint sensor.

You said you did a clean install of 8.1 to win.
I guess that the problem is related to the driver missing or utility.
I guess you do not have all the essential software available on the Toshiba UE driver page.

System driver Toshiba to win 8.1 must be installed. It is very important driver package.

But also try to register fingerprints first in the Windows settings.
Go to the control panel? Audio equipment &? Biometric devices
To the left, click Change biometric parameters
Now, you will see two options: WE (marked) biometrics and biometric OFF (unmarked)
Now, go to biometric OFF and save changes
Now go back and click on settings again biometric change
Now return to the biometrics IT and save the changes.

Now, you have to click on use your fingerprints with Windows and register fingerprints.

I think it might be useful to get the utility of fingerprinting works again.

So if now I will install linux I delete all the files on the SSD.
Maybe futture I want to reuse windows, can I return to original state by using this USB?

If I install this linux, what happens with toshiba tools accessed through the BIOS/UEFI?

Where can I get windows CDkey?

    Thanks for the help!

    BTW: great laptop!

can I go back to original state using this USB?

Yes, recovery would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

If I install this Linux, what happens with Toshiba tools accessed through the BIOS/UEFI?

I'm afraid that I'm not sure what you mean exactly with Toshiba tools accessed through the BIOS...

Toshiba tools do not support Linux... you can install Linux but Toshiba software wouldn't. But you can still access the F2 BIOS support and turn the device

  • What is the number of keyboard for Portege Z30-A-1E5 part?

    Hello
I want the Toshiba Portege Z30 A 1E5, but is apparently available for purchase of the German and Austrian sellers with the QWERTZ keyboard. I would like to buy an and Exchange on the keyboard AZERTY or QWERTY (UK).

However, I spoke with a company that and they can't confirm that they can get a part unless I can provide a reference number of keyboard (they also cannot give me a quote without it), but this number does not seem to be easy to get their hands on without actually having the computer and take off the keyboard and research under! I feel a little nervous about spending so much money when there's a chance that I won't be able to reverse the keyboard.

So my question is, can someone tell me what the part number of the keyboard is for the a-z30-1e5 portege?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Kate

    Hi, Kate

I m wondering why you want to buy a Portege Z30-A-1E5 that isn't available in the United Kingdom?
The notebooks are pre-installed with a Windows system in different languages. In the case of Portege Z30-A-1E5 available in Germany, the system language would be German.
The keyboard also supports a different layout.

Portege Z30-A-1E5 was equipped with a processor i7, SSD 512 GB and 16 GB of RAM disk.
Very similar Portege laptop, Z30 - has - 1 6 was released in the United Kingdom. Its preinstalled with the Windows system in the English language and English keyboard layout.
Of course, the hardware specs are a little bit lower (256 GB SSD drive and 8 GB of RAM) but I think that this could be improved is much easier to replace the keyboard.

However, where you can buy the Portege Z30-A-1E5, I recommend contacting the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for replacement keyboard. Guys could control the keyboard of Toshiba law and could perform the replacement.

Just a note: the replacement must be performed by service provider authorized because of the validity of the guarantee. The replacement must be performed by an approved engineer to keep the warranty valid.

  • Portege Z30 - I am unable to send SMS

I have a Portege Z30-A-13F. On the previous Portege, Ericcson device shipped, I used the Toshiba Wireless Manager and the SMS from Toshiba utility in access card for messages (SMS).

Currently, with the integrated chip of Sierra, I am able to access the network, but there is no interface for SMS on the AirCardWatcher tool.

The Wireless Manager does not work (I think it only works with Ericsson devices).
Is it possible to use the SMS with this computer?

    Thank you very much

AFAIK this is regardless if the laptop supports the Ericson or the Sierra 3 G module.

The Toshiba Wireless Manager should work fine in two modules.

Check this document... He explains how to set up and establish a 3G connection via the Manager preinstalled Toshiba wireless.

  • Portege Z30 Module problem - A - 13 L 3 G

    I had a problem with a new Portege Z30 - A - 13 L.

Module 3 G / 4G do not work. As a first step, the Air software map Watcher on the first Installation of Windows 7 detects the sim card and showed a signal, but it Air card Watcher Software still not said no reception (in German: Kein receipt).

I also put the right apn in the profile.
I had this problem with 2 different operators sim cards.

Cause I wanted to use Windows 8.1 anyway I installed it with the original recovery disks.
The original Windows 8.1 don t comes with Air card Watcher, so you must do with the instruments of the Board of Directors of Windows 8. Windows 8.1, I had a same problem. It detects the SIM, but it says no network (in German: Kein Netz). I put t found the possibility of changing the apn in 8.1 of Windows until you have a mobile connection.

Initially the Device Manager displays the Module of Sierra Wireless EM 7305 as a network card.
Then, I uninstalled the driver of Sierra Wireless and installed the Toshiba page.

After that the Sierra Wireless Module presents itself as a Com device in Device Manager. The cause so much of this networker of Sierra Wireless adapter isn t it, the mobile broadband connection don t even shows charms Windows 8.1 bar upward.

After that I reinstalled again the image Windows 8.1 with the original recovery disks.
I saw said that Sierra Wireless Driver has been installed, but the Module EM7305 of Sierra Wireless is presented with an exclamation mark in Device Manager.

Then I uninstalled and installed the driver manually again.
He appears again as com device in Device Manager.

So I think that the module has been a hardware failure. What do you think?

You will find different troubleshooting tips.

In the case where you have a signal but you can't connect the possible reasons could be:
You don t have a valid data subscription.
The name of the access point (APN), user name or password used for the connection is not valid.
You're roaming and the selected network operator doesn't allow data services or you don t have roaming enabled for data services.
