Portege Z30 - Has is not awaken from its slumber

One of our employees is using a Toshiba Portege Z30 - A connected to a DisplayLink Targus docking station. By default, our SOE configures power settings to do nothing when the lid closes. We have configured the laptop of this person to go to sleep when the lid closes if the notebook is on battery, and keep the default setting to do nothing if the lid closes when the supply network. About 6 weeks, the laptop has stopped waking up from his sleep.

I don't know if the implementation of standby or try to wake up from its sleep occurred when it is connected to the sector or on battery only. What are some troubleshooting steps that we can take to help diagnose the problem? BTW, the key entry nothing on this forum site, using IE10/Windows7.

The laptop does not wake up from sleep, open the lid or also by pressing the power button?

What BIOS status?
Is it already knows?

  • T430s is not awaken from its slumber with mouse and USB keyboard Logitech wireless

    Hello

My T430s is hooked up with a monitor and a keyboard/mouse (Logitech LX710) wireless.

I put the laptop itself under my desk since I did not take it with me that often.

Now, when I hit the sleep button on my keyboard, the computer goes to sleep, as expected.

-There is no way (it seems) that I am able to wake up.

    I am running Windows 7 (x 64).

I tried different USB ports (to make sure I use a motor) for Logitech wireless USB adapter.

In the BIOS Setup, I checked to see if the USB ports can wake the computer from sleep mode.

In the devices tab Manager keyboard (and mouse), power management, I enabled "allow this device to wake the computer". I did the same thing for the "Human Interface devices".

"Update driver software" for the keyboard and the mouse says I have the latest drivers to install.

In power controls of Lenovo, under Advanced settings, USB settings, I tried the USB selective suspend allowed many people with reduced mobility. They are disabled for the moment. Under global settings of power, I enabled 'always on USB"and"even when the computer is turned off.

Then... I'm slowly running out of options. So for now, I can leave the computer at any time (it's what I do, with an occasional reboot - that seems not so respectful), or I can crawl under my desk in the morning, take the laptop on the little stool that I put there, make attention to diet, USB and cables monitor and external hard drives, open the laptop , press the power button, close it again and carefully put it back. What is bulky.

So... what someone has ideas on how to fix this and leave my wireless keyboard to wake the portable computer?

(Oh.. and of course buy a wired keyboard is an option, but not one I prefer...)

I only have the mouse, but I have a T430s and a Microsoft wireless mouse to wake it. I always use the blue (USB3) port on the left side for all functions related to the startup, because I learned that the always active port (on the back) is started later in the process of turning the power on. Use the right-click button to wake it up, which is the function that was originally defined as one to this end, even though I believe that this movement of the mouse as she wakes up on a wired mouse.

  • T440s is not awaken from its slumber

I got a new T440s about 2 weeks and sometimes it is not wake up once he starts in mode 'sleep'. He is stuck on a black screen and the mouse cursor is visible, but moving the mouse or pressing keys on the keyboard does not wake up. When this happens, I have to restart the computer by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and hybrid sleep is turned off. I'm really confused because sometimes he wakes up perfectly and sometimes it isn't. Thank you!

  • Inspiron 17R SE 7720 wake from its slumber when the lid is closed through the usb keyboard/mouse

So I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 which has all of the latest drivers with BIOS A11 (Win 7 Ultimate x 64)...  I have all the settings properly configured for sleep power (no hibernation), however no matter what I try, I can't get the laptop to wake up when the lid is closed through USB keyboard.

I use a combo of MK560 Wave from Logitech (unifying receiver) - keyboard and mouse have the wake-up option enabled in the settings of their material.  I also wake up from USB enabled in the BIOS.

What is interesting is that if I put the computer to sleep with the lid open, I can do/wake it from Logitech devices.  With the lid closed, I can only do sleep - the only way to wake up, he is to open the cover and press the power button.

Anyone know a solution to this?

    Cliffs Notes:

Cover open: CAN sleep/wake from USB keyboard/mouse

Cover closed: can sleep ONLY - don't wake up if I open the Start button / cover & press

It seems that a new A13 BIOS was released on 18 March, all it says in the section '' correction '' is to "maintain the release." Download it now and see if it fixed more on the question of the USB.

  • Inspiron 15R (5537) wake from its slumber when the lid is closed through the usb keyboard/mouse

I have an Inspiron 15R (5537) which has all the latest drivers from Dell BIOS A01 Reference (Windows 8). I have the options of closing the lid set to "do nothing" for the two battery and plugged in, but no matter what I try, when the lid is closed I can't the laptop to wake up via USB keyboard or mouse.
The keyboard and mouse have the wake-up option enabled in the settings of their material.  I also wake up from USB enabled in the BIOS.
What is interesting, is that if I put the computer to sleep with the lid open, I can wake him up from the keyboard or the mouse.  But with the lid closed, the only way to wake up, it should open the cover and press the power button.
Anyone know a solution to this?
    Summary:
Cover open: CAN wake from USB keyboard/mouse.
Cover closed: don't wake up if I open the lid and press the power button.

    Pete,

Depending on where you live, you will have the rights of consumers.  I live in Australia and we have pretty good consumer protection.

I asked Dell - repair, replace it with one that works, or pay back me.

They went away for a few weeks, and when I "called home" a few times, they acknowledged that they could not solve the problem and offered me a full refund. The laptop was picked up yesterday and I expect the refund within about five days. The guy on my "case" has been very professional!

I guess that you informed Dell FORMALLY of the problem via a support ticket?

I did that and followed by chat and phone calls.

Whist, the ability to wake up via USB is not explicitly described in any of their literature, the bios has available and W8.1 has the facility.  they built it all - EXCEPT that they forgot the lid...

  • Satellite vs Z30 Portege Z30

From what I can tell (and confirmed to the Toshiba customer service) the Satellite Z30 is identical to the Portege Z30 except for the following differences:

    * The Portege Z30's Active Management Technology (AMT), which allows some administration remotely for enterprise environments
    * The Portege Z30 has a warranty of 3 years (1 year of the Satellite)
    * The Portege Z30 is pre-installed with Windows 7 and Windows 7 system restore partitions (and Windows media 8.1 provided) so that the Satellite comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1 system partitions and restore

My question is if the roller on an image taken of installing Windows 7 from a Portege Z30 will transfer to Satellite Z30 machines? I suspect there will be no problems with the hardware, but I'm curious about Windows activation and if the SLP on Satellites key will match the Portege.

Please be so kind and send feedback after your recovery image experience.

  • Portege Z30-C-12Z cam does not work with Win 10

    Hello!
I have a problem with my Portege Z30-C-12Z. Camera in win10 does not work.
Error code: 0xA00F4273. Have tried all the following steps: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...0-71c220c123a9 and like many more check the BIOS etc.

According to me, I tried and everything, checked it please help!

    Try this:
Type of storage in the search window and go to the storage system settings page. Make sure that the economy sites point to existing folders.
I moved the files on a SD card and the camera could not find the folder of photos. Also, I've seen the suggestion to check that the folder of photos contains the security settings to allow access.

If still no good, remove the driver of the webcam from the Control Panel, then let Windows Update to install a driver for the webcam update.

Reinstall the camera application can also help.

  • Fingerprints on the Portege Z30-A-12 q utility does not work

    Hello

I need help with this issue:

I have installed fresh windows 8.1, the same version as before, but this time I chose UEFI on BIOS. When I used the BIOS the fingerprint sensor was working fine, but now it says "unable to connect to the probe.

I use Toshiba Portege Z30-A-12 q i5-4200 256 GB SSD, or PT243E model. I've searched the forums and found a similar problem with another Toshiba R product that was resolved by adding an exception to the firewall.

Utility of fingerprinting with the exception of firewall, even disabled firewall all the way, but always the same problem, I added. In Device Manager, I have biometric sensors (WBF) (PID = 0010) validity under devices.

I also checked in the BIOS to see if it it turned on and it is.
The only thing I changed in the BIOS are Secureboot (is on) and has chosen CSM (UEFI), but I think that these settings are not relevant to the problem because they are used for starting.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver 3 times.

Please help me with this problem.
    Thank you very much
    Andrei Colombi

UEFI / start MSC mode has no influence on the fingerprint sensor.

You said you did a clean install of 8.1 to win.
I guess that the problem is related to the driver missing or utility.
I guess you do not have all the essential software available on the Toshiba UE driver page.

System driver Toshiba to win 8.1 must be installed. It is very important driver package.

But also try to register fingerprints first in the Windows settings.
Go to the control panel? Audio equipment &? Biometric devices
To the left, click Change biometric parameters
Now, you will see two options: WE (marked) biometrics and biometric OFF (unmarked)
Now, go to biometric OFF and save changes
Now go back and click on settings again biometric change
Now return to the biometrics IT and save the changes.

Now, you have to click on use your fingerprints with Windows and register fingerprints.

I think it might be useful to get the utility of fingerprinting works again.
