Ports ethernet on my new Linksys E1500

I bet dumb question, but I was not able to find an answer elsewhere, so I thought I would ask here.

If I connect to a computer for my new E1500 via its ethernet ports will get the same speed as if I was directly connected via an ethernet cable from my modem? In short, these ports work around the appearance of the router wireless and connect directly to the modem? Ideally from a computer is located next to the router I this and only use wireless for the other computers in the House.

Everywhere I read, I read that wireless is going to give me a slower connection that I have with my computer connected directly to the modem.

Thank you.

John

Did you mean Mbps Mbps not? If Yes, then you should be good .

    Computer problems and the router

I have a windows xp 2002 with service Pack 3. While trying to install a Linksys E1500 he repeats that my computer is not connected to the router. Ive tried a new cable and it does not solve the problem. He also said that my computer does not have wireless capabilities. Any suggestions?

You'll be much more likely to get useful (or even possible) suggestions if you provide the full text of the error messages you get, without paraphrasing.

    For example:

He repeated to me that my computer is not connected to the router. --> What is the real error message?

He also said that my computer lacks wireless capabilities--> what is the error message itself?

You are "trying to connect via a cable" to the router or you're talking about your Internet service (for example, the router is connected to the Internet via a cable)?

You think that your computer has "wireless capabilities?  Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK), then click on the + sign next to "network adapters."  Please provide the names of any devices listed there.

Is your computer without a name, a laptop?  There a name of brand anywhere (for example, Toshiba, HP, Dell, etc.)?

Open System Properties (start > run > msinfo32 > OK)
    Click Edit > select all
    Click Edit > copy
Right-click in your response here and select Paste
Be sure to hide the "System name" or "User Name" if it makes you feel better, but please do not remove anything else.

  • Linksys E1500 suddenly slow down.

Surroundings of August last year, I bought my Linksys E1500 and have not had any problems with it until yesterday (02/07/2014) when my internet speed suddenly dropped 35 Mbs average 20 kbs and less when downloading an update for Star War the Old Republic. Which is weird, because I took internet speed tests I always hit this average of Mbs 35, even if streaming and games video tells a different story. Web pages in general are too slowly.

I'm working on a laptop, but tried to connect directly to the modem. All good on the internet service provider and the modem (Charter Communications) as speeds was zoom. I also tried channel router (1, 6 and 11) without change of switching in wireless performance. It was the first time I did it and I sent my settings to their previous state.

I'm a novice at this, I could use some advice on how to correct the situation. Thanks for reading.

  • USB ports won't recognize new hardware

    Windows 7 Home Premium

My USB (front and back) ports ceased to recognize new devices, including readers of the pen, much older work OK. Whenever I plug them in, it tries to load a driver, then reports that no driver can be found. This isn't a hardware problem, as all devices work fine under Linux (Ubuntu 10.4) on the same computer. Deviice managed shows also some "unknown devicesE that is"failed to start"or the lack of pilots.

Similar problems were reported in other threads and I have tried to uninstall all devices of the USC (only prevented my mouse to work!) and looking for the top and bottom of the filters (absent). Any advice?

Hi Chris - and anyone else who is still looking for a solution to this common problem.

I found the solution for my system - it was in one of the many similar threads. I moved the C:\windows\system32\DriverStore\infcach.1 file to the desktop. (It would be possible to remove it, but even if I took possession of him and gave myself the full control, I was unable to do so).

Restart, caused a new file to create, much larger than the original. (There was also a file called OldCache.000 which I vainly tried to rename). I then opened the applet devices and printers in Control Panel and was able to install both my printer/scanner (it took two goes, one for each function) and my USB PCI card. If all goes well...

I guess there are several causes for this problem, and all the proposed solutions work for someone.

Thanks for your help - and good luck to everyone is still struggling with the problem.

  • M93p - removal of connection network because of the loose port Ethernet - MT M10AA S18G00

    Hello

A few months ago, we bought 149 new M93p devices for a hardware upgrade. In the new image, we began having a large number of errors and failures. We discovered that the network connection were down when the ethernet cable is touched or moved slightly. Initially, it was suspected that our cables were at the origin of the problem. It was quickly determined that all connection cables, with the exception of a set of very old Cat 5 cables, had the same problem. From what I can tell, it seems that the tolerances to the ethernet jack are loose or the pins are set too low.

Everyone knows this problem or has had random loss of network connectivity? I was told that this particular model of M93p was a new race. Thanks in advance for any help!

I had this same problem. After a month or more to work with the resolution of complaints from client Lennovo, turns out be a technical problem with the RJ45 port. The solution? -Lenovo has sent several enlarged RJ45 connector dongles. Problem solved.

  • I'm unable to set up my new Linksys E1000 router to my computer dell Inspiron B130 laptop.

We can not define your... router wireless connection requires Wi - Fi connection are managed by microsoft windows.  some computers have a different wireless connections Manager... I tried to disable my dell 1470 wireless unsuccessfully lan card to get the new router loaded... any suggestions?

    Hi Devar,

When you configure a new Wifi router immediately, you can connect to the radio

you have to go on the wireless router and you also need an ethernet cable to connect the router to your pc wirelessly

normally all routers come with an installation cd. But if it does not

Open your web browser and type the ip address of the default gateway

The IP address of the Linksys routers is 192.168.1.1

from there, you can set the security features and everything and after that you have set up passwords and everything please connect your modem to the wireless router so that you can access the internet

to manage your network wirelessly with the windows wireless client, please activate your Automatic Configuration WZC wireless

follow these steps to activate the automatic Wireless Configuration

Start menu - click on RUN

type in SERVICES. Scroll down the list until you see SMC Wireless Auto Configuration

Double-click and should be in service type: automatic

and also, click Start to start the service.

    Hope that helps

  • Adding additional Ports Ethernet to the router EA6300

    Friends,

I have a setup of typical network with a cable modem in progress of execution to an EA6300 wireless router. The EA6300 also has a cable ports but I have 4 of those filled and I would like to extend it. I have an older Linksys ethernet hub, but it does seem like one of the entries EA6300 to plug in the supply plate works. Is there a way that it works, or do I need another piece of equipment?

    Greg

But of course the without wire in this particular book didn't work for a long time, so I had to revisit this issue and found out that the ethernet hub works very well except for port 1. I am logged in ports 4 & 5 and all is well. This solution should work perfectly for the foreseeable future and thank you for all the support and assistance with this!

  • Shaw and my new Linksys WRT310N router

Basically, I tried a router Dlink $ 50 and failed. I tried a $ 100 Linksys router and failed. My ISP is Shaw and no 3rd party router seems to work with it. I have connected my Shaw Surfboard Cable Modem to the Internet port on my router and router connection Port 1 to the Ethernet port on my desktop. I talked to support several times without success. Can someone help me understand this problem?

"Just to get the mac address of the PC which is on your ISP shaw.

AFAIK, you don't need to do. I'm on Shaw, using a WRT-320N and have no problem at all (at least not THIS problem).

There are three different pieces of this puzzle and you have not provided enough information to determine what part is actually the problem:

-connection makes Shaw so you are also connected to the internet

-you are connected to the internet but cannot browse, receive emails etc. of your main (or other) machine which is connected BY WIRE to the router

-you are connected but cannot browse wireless

If the problem is that the first (and I think that's what you wrote), try the following - it is conceivable that one or more of your IP addresses are contradictory. In order to cross Shaw it is easier if you just "start over." Cut your cable Modem. Turn off your router. Re-turn on your modem and wait until it shows who is connected with the signal. Then turn on your router. This should dispel any questions.

Most of the machines are set to "dhcp", which will allow the machine to automatically retrieve an address.

If no joy, please advise what your PC (Windoze? Mac?) and what version of operating system you are using (Windoze Vista? Windows 7? Win XP? OSX? etc.)

  • WAP610N Port Ethernet speed

What is the speed of the Ethernet port that connects the WAP610N to the local network. Why is it not mentioned on the box or the manuals? I guess it would be 1 GB because what is the meaning of facilitate a 802.11n wireless network when the speed of the connection to the cable network is anything but 1 Gb, I am mistaken?

The speed of the Ethernet port is 10 / 100 Mbps.

There are many models/products of ENVY Phoenix Desktop - 850-065 series. In any case, according to your description you can use a normal PCIe 1Gig card. There are a lot of cards around, 1 port, 2 ports or more. Please make sure that there are drivers CD or at least it shows you where to find driver (from the site of the manufacturer).

  • Satellite L515-S4960: ESata port can be used for LinkSys WLan adapter?

Buy Toshiba L515-S4960 laptop, bought a LinkSys RangePlus wireless notebook adapter, but I did not yet find a port to plug in.

I wanted to extend the reach of the signal from my router.

The place above the eSata port opens to support an adapter?

I don't want to tear anything in amont.*

No, you cannot use the eSATA port for the use of the USB WLan adapter.
You can only connect compatible external devices that support eSATA port!

As far as I know a laptop to LinkSys RangePlus wireless adapter is a PC card that supports a CardBUS interface.
You can use in only in the PC card slot supports CardBUS as well.

Check you manual use if your computer supports the PC card CardBUS (32 bit) slot.

  • Connection cRio 9074 second port ethernet to another device via VISA

I'm trying to connect a DAQ Yokogawa system to a cRio 9074 via the second ethernet port. I activated the second ethernet port of the cRio with a static IP address on the same subnet as the data acquisition system. I installed the driver NI-VISA and NOR-SERIAL on the cRio. I can compile the code on the cRio and I'm sure that the code works when I connect to the acquisition of data to a PC. I get an error on the open VISA VI.

Am I missing something or is it not possible to connect the second ethernet port on the cRio in this way?

    Thank you

Thank you for your response. I found the same information that you provide, but decided to give it a try.

A few minutes ago, I was able to perform communication between the cRio 2nd access Ethernet DAQ Yokogawa. I managed to do it using the VISA controls. To communicate with the host PC, I get the information of the DAQ with the cRIO as described above and then use shared variables to publish data on the network connected through the first ethernet port.

If anyone wants to reproduce it just to make sure that the two ethernet ports are configured with IP addresses on different subnets that are configured for TCP communication. If more details are to be simply send me a message.

    Kind regards!

    Salvation OR engineers,

I intend to use my gateway NI9792 in the following way:

    2. the other port to communicate with a cRIO device? If so, how can I do it?

It seems to be a stupid question, but I really couldn't work this!
