Positioing on Satellite L650-1MC USB port

I just bought a Satellite L650 1MC having already owned a previous version. The amount of the fine with the exception of one major flaw - the USB ports are on the side rather than on the back, so I have cables around the office (mouse, printer and disk backup). Those on the right also fault the CD player when you try to use it?
Why is it was designed this way?
Someone else has this problem and is there one solution other than buying an expensive hub wireless router or wireless peripherasls?

I can't tell you why it is designed on this journey, but the best way to get rid of a cable (mouse) is to use the mouse with receiver microphone wireless. Even if you take your laptop with you, it doesn't have to be removed.
I assume that the backup device and the printer should not be connected all the time. You have a mobile device and it is designed to be with you everywhere.

If you use it as a desktop replacement, I think you should get a small USB hub. I put t see any other solution for you.

    Hello

    > This problem start after a storm in my area some time ago.

Because other devices don't work properly and because procedure didn t get it back help you solve this problem, I think that the problem is related to the hardware malfunction possibly that the motherboard was hit by lightning, which would explain the problems

I think you should ask the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country to check the motherboard.

  • Satellite M300 - left USB port does not work

    Hey,.

I have a M300 Satellite, with a USB port on the right and the other on the left side. The one on the left has never worked with anything. Its never bothered me until now - I bought a portable HD and I need to connect it and a mouse at the same time...

Interesting note though that when I put the laptop HD in the left USB port, the led lights, hard disk. The lappy himself made no sign he knows its there and I cannot access it, however...

Any advice? Thank you very much!

I guess, it is burning or something like that. You can buy a USB hub, it's a device that develops a single USB port into several so that there is more available ports to connect devices to a host system. It's not expensive and you connect many devices.

  • RAM is not recognized on Satellite L650-1MC

    Hello guys

I have a Toshiba Satellite L650-1MC with an i5 480M CPU and 4 GB DDR3 PC3 - 10600 (2 x 2 GB modules). Today, I got a 4 GB of DDR3 PC3-8500 module to upgrade the RAM 6 GB. I put this new module in and he was not recognized, perhaps because it was PC3-* 8500 * not * 10600 * like the original other two modules.

However, when I tried to put one of the modules of 2 GB DDR3 PC3 10600 original in once again, he was not recognized or the other! I then left the second empty slot, with nothing in it, and he acknowledged the 1 module 2 GB in there. Do you intend the PC3-8500 module "corrupt" the memory slot, or is it not positioned properly, as seems to be slotted into a fine; It will not move.

I would really appreciate your help

    Hello Tom

There must be a compatibility problem. Forum is filled with similar reports. You should only use compatible and tested modules.
I highly recommend to use modules from Kingston.
Compatible RAM for your laptop model you can find on http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/lines.asp?root=uk&LinkBack=http :// www.kingston.com/ukroot&Manufacturer=tos&search_type=

  • Satellite L650/1MC - WiFi and LAN connection keep dropping out

In the last two weeks, that my wifi connection dropped regularly - only a reboot solves the problem. Because it became so frequent (and boring) I returned with an ethernet cable, which worked OK for a few days, but tthat hen started making the same thing: no internet connection.

I must emphasize that my other active wifi (android and android phone Tablet) kit continue to connect to internet via wifi etc, even when the connection of the laptop has fallen. This leads me to suspect that the problem is mobile partner no router etc. relates. The laptop is rarely used on battery, so I do not have the power as a problem management.

I have a Satellite L650/1MC running W7 64-bit. I made no changes to my system recently which may give rise to this problem - everything works perfectly until a few weeks before.

I checked for updated firmware updated on my router in the case where it is the question - it's not.

Any suggestions to fix this annoying would be welcome!

    > I checked for updated firmware updated on my router in the case where it is the question - it's not.

Have you tried to reboot the router?
Since the two connections (LAN and WLan) stops falling, I think that the router is the problem.
OK, two other android devices seems to work properly but the fact is that router shares automatically and possibly IP addresses, the IP address cannot be assigned correctly.

However, you can check the WLan and LAN TCP/IP protocol settings.
Uninstall the TCP/IP v6 and use only the v4 TCP/IP for LAN and WLan.

Also ensure that your security programs (firewall & anti-virus software) don't affect the internet connection.

    Hi alwayseric,

What operating system do you use?
Have you checked for yellow exclamation marks Device Manager?
If you connect USB devices to the normal USB port it works?

I would recommend a chipset driver. It's worth a try, and you can download it here:

    > I think that my last resort looking for a factory system by default re install... but one have a mountain of things astro which must be saved and cannot be done through many many discs

Even if it s really painful to get everything installed it again, I would recommend to recover the laptop using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery.

    > Could I have really damaged the MB. ??
Well, it's hard to say before trying the recovery procedure.
If the USB ports are not working after using the recovery disk (or HDD recovery), then of course: the mobo may be affected, therefore, in my view, the laptop must be set to the factory settings.

That s very strange and I cannot believe that
I mean if the PIN to USB ports was broken on the first day of purchase, then why you didn't visit your dealer and asked the replacement of the laptop?

However, I had 2 portable satellite in the past. Series not Asian but portable European Satellite. Now, I m using a satellite A210 and all USB ports is OK on all my series.

  • Satellite C660 - two USB Ports without function (bad connection)

Hello, sorry for the worst English.
Historically, the touchpad of my Satellite C660-220 used without operation, worked with a mouse of radio. Now, two usb ports can only be used under certain conditions. Can I replace the connections for this part (motherboard / motherboard) for example, a computer used toshiba laptop? Where can I read, one of which models the parts required are the same as well?

    Best regards from the Germany

    Bert

    Hi Bert

I guess for you that it is quite simple. Problem is that this repair is not supported, and all we can try it on its own, including all the risks of damaging something.
    > Where can I read, one of which models the parts required are the same as well?
This kind of document is not and if it has information that is not for public use, but for only authorized services.

Theoretically, you can find the same mainboard with damage CPU or GPU and use parts from there.
Believe me it is not easy to give you some good advice on this subject.
Out of curiosity, but you have some experience with these things?

  • Satellite M30-106: USB Ports not working not

    Hello.

I have a problem with my Satellite M30-106. One day, the system froze (Windows XP with SP2) during the passage of the machine off. I was forced to keep the button "power" for a while in order to close the system. However, since all 3 USB ports do not work.

The system does not recognize the "" them. I can't see in Device Manager. I tried to reinstall the system, but it did not help.

Can someone help me, pelase =)

    Hello

It looks like a hardware problem. At whatever it is connected to the USB ports at the time? Could you check the USB ports visually and see if they are damaged or wobbly. It is a bit of a long shot, but you may have a short circuit decision and which could disable the USB.
If the motherboard is damaged then outside fixing/replace your only option would be a PCMCIA USB card, they are not expensive.

  • Satellite L650D-103 - USB ports do not work

    Hello

I have a Satellite L650D-103 with usb ports not working only (no mouse, no printer) of a windows update 7.
I tried a system restore, but it has not solved the problem.

When I check the generic system card realtek controller is disabled.

    What can I do?
    Thank you for your help

    Hello

I recommend you remove the hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager.
Expand the domain controller USB (in Device Manager), choose the USB devices - root - hub USB enhanced host controller, and press DELETE. This must be done for all devices listed there.

Satellite L650D-103 was equipped with an AMD chipset.
The chipset driver is part of the ATI display driver and that's why I recommend you to reinstall the ATI display driver again.

Finally, restart the laptop and test the functionality of USB port.

  • Satellite Pro L20 USB ports no longer work

    Hello

A little bit ago, I experienced a few problems with my Satellite Pro L20. After he brought to life, I found out that the USB ports no longer work.

    Things I've tried so far:

    Reinstall the chipset drivers
    Update the BIOS.
Ensure USB is enabled in BIOS
Uninstall and reinstall the USB controllers via the Device Manager.

The USB ports no longer work and I ran out of things to try. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

If possible, try to install the operating system with recovery media. On this way, you will have to factory settings. It's the best test you can do. If the problem persists, it may be a malfunction of the equipment. Sorry but on this path is not easy to tell what the problem may be.

  • Satellite 1900-303 USB port not working - USB hub?

Hello. Deploy a Satellite 1900-303 with two USB ports. One of the ports stopped working. I guess it's permanently broken. Just browse the site, it seems that the easient of thing to do would be to get a Port Replicator - one of them:

    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/JSP/individualOptions.do?service=UK&selCategory=4697&o ldCategory = 4697 & OPTION_ID = 95631 & toshibaShop = true & t ab = 1 #1

I wanted to know is it just to sink my remaining a USB port, so that I get 4 USB ports (and all others)? What USB speed I would get?

    Thank you!

    Hello

As far as I know the unit supports USB 1.1
So I guess if you are using a USB hub external, USB ports work with USB 1.1 properties.
Maximum data transfer should be 12 Mbps

  • Re: Tight Satellite Pro A200 USB ports

    Hello

I received my A200GE - 26Q Satellite Pro yesterday (yay!) and I was testing every bit of last night. The USB ports are extremely tight. I almost have the USB in the force and pull VERY hard to get it out. What develops these damage the ports/usb?

Also, is there anything we can do about it? I don't think that Toshiba will change that because they work and therefore are not eligible to be fixed under the warranty.

My DVD player is also quite noisy. Is this normal?

    Hope you can help!

    Help, please
    Thank you

Don t think that can damage anything, but if you connect or disconnect something and then be careful don't use force.

    > My DVD drive is also quite noisy. Is this normal?
The CD/DVD drive is always a bit harder while working.
I guess that there s nothing unusual.

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know if you are using the OS preinstalled Toshiba.
Second, you must check the status of the USB controller in Device Manager.

I recommend you to unplug all external USB devices to the laptop.
Delete all the USB root hubs and Device Manager USB host controllers.
Then restart the laptop and wait until Windows will reinstall all USB ports again.
Then you can plug in a USB mouse or USB again.

    Check it out
