Possible to the J4550 network via USB
I have a HP J4550 all a printer. I had been using it on my network via an old desk that I used as a print server. This office has essentially become an anchor and I would like to get rid of the desktop but continue to use the printer on my network. I know it isn't wireless, but is it possible to connect the printer directly to my Verizon Actiontec router via the USB connection? I don't know if it can work without a directly connected print server... Only, I have a laptop and run it completely wireless.
Is it possible to put something in place or should I buy a new printer specific to my needs...
I am running windows 7.
Hello! Welcome to the @Damorr00 forums.
Officejet J4550 is a printer connected by USB only. You only have the ability to plug a USB from the printer directly to your computer. Unfortunately the router USB connection does not work as it is not the game of good upward. More printers to date are usually wireless and may be an option for you.
I hope that move upward any concerns, a wonderful day

Error in boot sequence because of the high voltage via USB port
Hello
I have connected a powerable Seagate hard drive external via USB of my touchsmart PC and powered the drive using an adapter instead of the supplied 5V 9V (was a mistake). The computer immediately stop (abnormally) and now when it starts it does not recognize the boot drive. The back will ask for the boot drive. My C drive has been fried due to higher voltage? (9 v or 5 V). Is it possible to fix this error, or if not at least can I recover data from the hard drive?
Thank you
Hello
You could try to remove the hard drive and then place it in an external case 3.5 '' USB and then try it on another PC. This type of adapter may also be used to test the drive on another PC.

The airport will connect to the brother 2270DW via USB but not ethernet
Apple replaced my Airport Extreme after only 9 months and it has been quite a challenge to get back to square one.
On the older airport, I connected to my printer wireless Brother via an Ethernet port on the router, but now it does not detect the printer. I changed the cables without result. I have finally connected via USB to the airport and wireless printing is restored, but why didn't he see my ethernet port. The port works because I am connected via a cable to my laptop and it lights up. I have a problem with the port or printer?
He does not see my printer via ethernet. What gives?
Thank you
Alexander
You have entered the system preferences in printers and Scanners and added to the printer?

recharge the laptop battery via USB
I'm going to take a long flight (10 hours) and want to use my 2 want my eReader than him. Is it is possible to recharge the battery using a USB cable?
# Power USB is not sufficient and does not run power from a usb port to recharge the battery. There may be an adapter for aircraft available for your laptop or you can use a converter of airline.

Flights of this length will be taken of airpower available seats, and this kind of adapter allows you to use your regular AC adapter.

Unable to connect to the NAS network via a wired connection?
Hi all
I have 2 network NAS. They are both a Bay D-Link ShareCenter 2. One is full of media I use for streaming and the other is used to keep backups of my computers and some software. Both of the NAS are configured in RAID mirror. They both worked fine when I got them almost a year ago, they are mapped to letters pilot Y and Z. 2 days when I logged my office a popup notification came to say."cannot reconnect to all network drives, click here to check the status of your network drives."so I checked it status and he said they were offline. I restarted my computer and both the NAS, but it made no difference. Then I tried to disconnect the drives, but when I try to reconnect to them I get this error;"Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your network. In an attempt to identify and solve network problems, click on diagnose. »When I click to diagnose it is unable to find a default. The next thing I did was disable my Ethernet card and connect to my network with my WiFi adapter. Then I tried to re - map the NAS is connected via the wireless. This time he allowed me to map them and they seem to work as usual via the wireless connection, but it is rather slow on the wireless. Then I disconnected my WiFi connection and reactivated my Ethernet card. When I tried to open the NAS I get this error message;"An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »
A friend told me that this error was because the drive letter is used by a USB storage device or remembered from a previous session, and to remedy, I should run these 2 commands CMD;NET use * / Delete Yes
NET use / persistent: noAfter you run the two orders, nothing has been changed still the same problem. I also I have no USB storage device so it may be that. The next thing I tried was to ping both the NAS, I did this on Ethernet and WiFi connections, and both times I return a normal response both to the NAS.I defrosted then to restore an image from my Office I made around a week ago and I know that I don't have this problem at the time. The image I did was with Acronis. When I started on the CD of Acronis support, I discovered that Acronis software could connect both the NAS on my desktop Ethernet. After restoring I still have the same problem. Now, there's 1 thing I noticed, my laptop can still connect to both WiFi and Ethernet NAS with all the problems. I also have an android phone, and who can connect both of the NAS via a WiFi connection.1 last thing you to know is I can always get to the configuration of the NAS so pages I visit it local address in a web browser. I also ran a factory reset both the NAS and then re-applied my own settings. This does not solve the problem, and more that turning March my routers. Please can someone help me solve this problem. I'm running a Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit operating system. If you need more information on my system spec or how I have my setup of home network please let me know.Thank you Joe.This problem has now been fixed.
For some reason any my AVG firewall had defrosted on its own to block access to the features as well as to define its self to disable the file and printer sharing of files on the NAS share. So a small trick to my firewall and everything works as it should.Thank you Joe. -

Need help to access the internal network via VPN on ASA5505 8.4 (1)
Recently, I upgraded my ASA5055 from 8.02 to 8.4 and since I have updated to the new version I can access my home network is no longer through the VPN. I can connect to the VPN with no problems however I can no longer ping or you connect to my network of 10.0. Someone would be kind enough to look at my config and tell me what needs to be added to make it work? In my old config, I had a statement of NAT for VPN that is no longer here.
I also wanted to configure WebVPN to work as well, and this is something that I've never been able to understand. Is it also possible that I can be on my 20.0 network and connect to the VPN and access 10.0 as well? When it is connected to my network of 20.0 I'm not received credentials to connect to the VPN. I would be grateful if someone can help out me. The major part of this is the first part of this question.

Cannot share my connection to the local network via wifi
I create an ad hoc network, and I'm not able to share with other computers or my nokia c3 phone. My phone does not detect the ad hoc network, I created
Hello KarthikBN,
You're other computers can connect to the Ad Hoc network you create on your primary computer? The connection works on your phone before, or is this the first time you are setting this up?If the computer detects the network but your phone is not, it is perhaps a question for Nokia: -
HP CP1525nw - connect via the wired network and Wi - Fi ad-hoc?
At my work, we have our range of HP printers 1525nw connected in the printserver network via an ethernet cable. The printer has its own IP address on the network configuration.
That support computers XP stops, a copula of computers is cut out / blocked from the network of employment. A computer is enough where we can make a USB connection to print. Another lies on another bench. In addition, who is away from the printer also may not be perfected for a compatible Windows operating system because of the incompatibility with specialized software used to operate the hardware connected to this computer.
Is it possible for this network printer wired to be also configured to print wireless via an ad-hoc connection? Maybe the idea was that we could install a wireless card on XP teachix computer and print wirelessly via a direct connection to the printer, by not having to connect via cable at all. But it sounds like it would be not possible. Looking for a straight answer before you start shopping for a wireless PCI card.
Other messages, I read, I think that the CP1525 can be ethernet or wireless not both at the same time. Prevent you from establishing an ad hoc network the way you described.
You could try a cheap router with a built in print server connected to the usb port. then add wireless dongles Wireless USB for XP computers. Don't forget to make sure that the wireless dongles supports XP. Also for security reasons, you want to let the router disconnected from your network wireless.
If your tecky enough and you don't mind playing a little, you can consult your thrift store local to a router used with a print server. You don't need to print the fastest available wireless. Just make sure it's a router b/g (not a single B).

Cannot print from laptop (windows 7) via the wireless router desktop (windows xp) with attached usb HP v40 .for all-in-one.
(7) - wireless laptop router - desktop (xp) - usb - HPv40
Has worked for laptop is running xp.
Laptop of the coils of print job at the office and apparently complete, but the bureau simply ignores the print job.
No error message.
printing from office very well.
I reported this as resolved. I submitted this problem. The problem started when the update of my laptop computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. When I did, the Lexmark printer to my desktop worked find with the new system of the laptop. The HP V40 has failed. The Office has just received each print job submitted from the laptop (via a local wireless network) and scrapped it. I could see the print job come in the V40 print queue and could disappear.
Here's what I did to solve the problem:
I tried a dozen or so combinations of withdrawal and installing the printer on my Windows 7 laptop and my Office Windowx XP (with the V40 attached via USB) and manually removing and installation of printer drivers on my desktop PC, it works finally. What have I done? I have no idea, but I think that deleting manually pilots v40 on the office was part of the solution. While view printers available on my XP desktop computer, I clicked on file and one of the tabs has led me to a place where I could remove the drivers for each printer (I just removed them for the V40).
Here's what I DIDN'T DO:
I'm not following the advice of the HP support person I contacted by phone. This Board had to reinstall Windows XP on my desktop. That clearly was not the problem when I talked to him. But he would NOT listen to reason. Luckily I have enough knowledge to know PC than its low of false tips
I am pleased with the resultant availability of the V40 again.
I have no idea how to officially close this problem.
I would be happy to discuss with someone else who has a similar problem, but when I submitted this problem with my name and email address, the moderator has deleted my presentation of the problem. Therefore, I think that all those who want to know more is out of luck.

Windows 7 will not recognize or sync Pocket PC which is connected via usb
Hello
I am trying to sync my Pocket PC data (Pal my ASUS a686) on my computer (Windows 7 Enterprise). I think that if you had Windows XP, we would use Active Sync. However, it's windows 7, so I think that I use Windows Mobile Device Center. In fact, I used the center of the device before, but it has been a week to try to download the data again and it no longer works. He is very picky. But we need our data and cannot wait for the day that he decided to download. So I uninstalled the center of the device (the tip of a chat room) and now I can not re - load it. However, before I even uninstalled, the problem returning to the top, it was my computer does not recognize the device connected via usb.Code 43 continues to come does not recognize this device. And yet it is plugged. I keep trying to restart, plug the unit in different orders, send good energy, etc.I did a soft reboot of the pocket pc the last time, but that makes you lose all data on the pocket pc and we cannot lose this data. Finally, it is for the eco-counter software. When it worked, I hit the sync button and the data were downloaded. Now... He says just connect me please my pocket pc when it is connected. Why!Thank youColeOn the Pocket PC, try going to "start |" Settings | Connections | USB to PC"and unchecking the checkbox"Enable advanced network functionality. "

The challenges network - welcomed the ideas
Hello
I have an Officejet 7410 currently connected by usb to my office main office running Windows 7 - everything revolves slowly.
My first challenge is to add the ability to print for a laptop I take London - based Vista already has a connection to the home network via a Netgear DG834GT router WEP wireless.
The second challenge is to add the ability to print to a wireless XP Pro based family office that already has a connection to the home network via a Netgear DG834GT router WEP wireless.
It is best to stick with USB or should I consider ethernet or wireless for the main office for printer? I don't want to lose a maximum functionality or speed on the main office.
Once the primary connection method is decided - what is simplest to add printing function of the laptop wireless and wireless family office and do a full install or just basic printing?
Any ideas would be most welcome.
mirving
When you're ready to do this, here's the easiest way:
1. connect the printer to your router.
a. If by Ethernet, just plug in the back of your router (unplug the USB to avoid confusion on this PC).
b. If the wireless, change to WPA, then on the control panel of the printer: configuration > network > wireless Assistant. Follow the directions.
2. Yes, there are several software of their choice. For each operating system that you choose here, click the driver, then locate the "Full Featured" software package, download and install it. Install the software on each PC, choose "network" or "Network" when asked. He will find the printer (because it is already connected to your network) and install the software.
That's all! Oh, and it won't be necessary to use a USB key. The network can handle you want to print from any PC, or wireless.

C309g-m - unable to connect to the wireless network, touchpad hangs
Hello.
As PrintDoc has suggested, it's a new thread in the suite here, where I jumped in with a diversion to the station 23. I'm sorry.
Here are the details:
(1) system:
Router is Thomson TG585n provided by ISP O2/Telefonica. Download high speed ADSL to ~ 9Mbps.
3 devices connected and stable:
-L' computer running XPSP3, connects to the router via homeplug (Ethernet on electrical wiring).
-Laptop running Vista Home Premium, connects wirelessly with WPA2-AES.
-Mobile phone runs Symbian 60, connect wirelessly in the same way.
Router is configured to operate on channel 11 g wireless and accept new devices automatically with the appropriate security password.
It is a House of 3 floors - router on the top floor has always worked. computer bureau on a middle floor with printer; laptop and the phone can be anywhere.
So far so good.
Now, I want to add the wireless printer and I'm really bad.
(2) summary of symptoms:
I bought the C309g-m on Amazon UK in January 2010. USB connection with assistant easily. Migrated to wireless via the front panel. Easy. Then tried to add a 500 GB Freecom Network Drive (NAS device connected to the router) and has failed, because I didn't RTFM. After removing the FND, I get an error message of HP to the effect that I have "tried to set the printer's IP address" and lost the connection to the printer wireless. Have not seen this message since then, so I can't reproduce.
As I said, I removed the FND, who never appeared on the network in any way. However I still can't connect to the printer wirelessly. The wireless connection wizard crashes after asking to specify a password. The wireless network Test report that the radio works, but shows FAIL the entrance of 'No filter '. I looked into the console of the router and there is nowhere to set the MAC address filtering, so I'm stumped.
I tried to 'Add a device' CD, for network via USB settings. It takes forever (30 minutes?) to come up with the same error "MAC address filtering.
One last thing: if I leave radio turned on (the default lighting) will lock the touchpad after a few minutes to the home screen. If I disable it, it's fine. Once locked, the only way to stop is to unplug the power supply.
Finally - all the base printer functions very well. I can print and scan through the USB port and can take copies.
Thoughts:
(a) I think my router settings can be screwed. I don't see a way to set limits to the DHCP pool, I should be able to. However, since I was 3 devices that connect to the Internet I am reluctant to do a factory reset in case I lose those!
(b) there's something wrong with the printer - but I don't know what.
c) I could try temporarily move the printer to the i) door ii) within reach of hardwirable of CAT5 and wireless range
(d) the fact that I can connect the printer (wireless) or DNF (cable) makes me suspect the router. However, I have not received any support from O2: they said it was an internal problem of LAN/WLAN and nothing to do with broadband, therefore, were not willing to help.
I spent hours on this and get nowhere. Help, please!
Tim.
BTW - I'm in the United Kingdom.
Well, I think that there are many more problems with 'atypical' routers and HP software as there are with HP printers. I see not nearly as many problems with certified brand routers WiFi (like Linksys, Netgear and D-Link), as I do with large brands and Belkin.
The worst offenders are rented modems/routers that your ISP provides. For some reason, they have a lot of industrial property settings and firmware that simply don't play well with HP printers (may be others, but I would never buy another printer HP - I know way to much about printers after their design for 25 years).
A reliable and good solution cheap is to go buy a $40 or $50 Linksys router and replace stuff not expensive you have (or paste according to your router/modem rented). Time and time again, I've seen problems disappear just after installing a standard router.
You can reserve an IP address for a wired connection, but because parts wired and wireless to the printer have separate MAC addresses, this IP address is not available for the wired connection.
Read the thread if you wish. Discover the solutions on this website if you want to, but I still think you have a defective printer.

audio output lists only the internal speakers when usb is connected to the dac
This problem happened after I had used my mbp for months as music server in a stereo system. When I have the mbp connected via USB to an external digital to analog converter (dac), audio preferences had always listed the CAD. Now it lists only the internal speakers. I tried to reboot, checked my UBS cable, checked my dac. The only thing I've done recently is to create a playlist and sync a new iPod to copy the playlist we. I don't know if that could have anything to create the problem of lack of dac, but I am a relative novice on computers.
Anyone have this problem or knows how to fix?
