Possible virus or update error

I've updated my automatic update of Windows Vista @ 12/06/2010 10:00 CDT from my laptop. Once the update finished it stops it self for the night. This morning, I restarted my laptop and it went through his normal startup mode, but went to the screen went black for couple seconds showed one or two files (.dll file name). After that badges Microsoft came and then configure update comes on the so-called screen updated, but is NOT on the contrary he stops it self and relaunch the process all over again, and again, you get my point.  Help

Chris

Hi Chris,

-You get a message/error code to restart the laptop?

Follow the steps below:

Method 1:

Step 1:

Try to start your computer in safe mode and check what is happening.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

For instructions on starting your computer in safe mode, see the following article:

Start your computer in safe mode

Step 2:

Perform a System Restore to a previous restore point safe mode before the show and see if you can get the laptop to the top and work.

Diagnostics for use in safe mode

Method 2: Run the Startup Repair

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged, that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

See the following article for more information on the Startup Repair:

Hope this information helps.

I have xpsp3.  I was looking at my calendar to find out what day of the week, an event that happens in November, and unfortunately I forgot to go back to the date of the day before I have updated the definitions of viruses and spyware on MSE.  Now, MSE think my latest definitions of viruses and spyware are obsolete, because they were supposed to be updated three months from now.  So my question is: is it possible to reset the date of the last virus and update the spyware definitions in XP?

Correct the date on your computer. Remove the antivirus/malware product and reinstall.

    -OR-

To restore before the update, use the system restore. Make sure the date is correct. Update.

I would check to see if you have a Trojan or a virus on your system.  He saw several cases with that error and it has been resolved by removing the Trojan horse and reboot your system. Once the Trojan horse has been removed, they were able to install from Windows Update again. It seems possible that your Windows installation has been damaged deliberately by a Trojan horse to avoid you update your system or remove the Trojan horse. Your first priority should be to clean your PC of any malware.

    (1) check that the definitions for Windows Defender is updated.

    Hello

I have a Satellite U400-112 with Windows 7-64 bit OS. I can't upgrade my system v4.00 to v4.70 since windows or DOS.

Specifically, when the upgrade starts according to the file and then check it stucks without any progress. This error means the two versions (DOS & Windows).
I have a strong feeling that is a corrupted bios file. If someone can justify my feeling or a good file BIOS it is asked to answer.

    Thank you in advance,

    Ioannis

    Hey Buddy,

Update the BIOS of BACK is not possible because the updates are only based on the Windows.
In any case, what update BIOS error that you get exactly?

If you try to update, make sure that the value added package is installed. That s necessary for the program to update the BIOS.

But why do you want to update? Normally it of not necessary if your system works ok.

  • Windows Update error code 646 & dt000.

Received the Windows Update error Code 646 & dt000 does not allow the following 2 updates be installed (KB976382 KB981725) what I need to do.

Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at.  First of all, yourBackground Intelligent Transfer Services set toAutomaticand started and Windows Update ? They both should be started. You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.

Sometimes in order to get patches to install correctly, you must perform these tasks manually. Click each of the links below and click on download and run.  You must accept the agreement and then click on continue.

    KB976382

    KB981725

If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and thenQuick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.
