According to the Installation Instructions of the 7486407 Patch:

The value of the environment variable ORACLE_HOME to the oracle home in which
    your Oracle server is installed.

I need to adjust the new ORACLE_HOME 11 g as environment variable below

    export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1

    Startup of the Oracle Services.

  • No update high priority - post of XP SP3

Fees no installation of XP SP2 OEM CDs no problem.

Install XP SP3 Redistributable (used many times before) no problem.

After restarting Windows Update, install the Active X control and it came up saying there is no high priority updates.

Tried same question to Microsoft Update.

Upgrade to IE 8 to 6 and still the same issue.

I know from experience that there are more post SP3 updates.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you

  • If Win XP SP1 is no longer supported, can I reinstall from my system disk and always upgrade to SP3?

My hard drive is filled with thousands of uninstall files and folders while he was trying to upgrade my operating system to SP3. I want to wipe the hard drive and reinstall xp and other software. My system drive is XP SP1. Can I reinstall this version and then go online to upgrade to SP3?

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 5100 with a Pentium 4 processor and 1 GB of RAM (maximum). I don't think that I have the option to upgrade to windows 7.

While Windows XP with SP1/SP1a or SP2 is no longer "supported" - it's just a matter of installing Windows XP patched SP3 to fall in this category 'supported '.

My suggestion - to make things simple - if you install cleanly, simply download and install Service Pack 2 for Windows XP first.  Reboot several times.  Then, download and then install Service Pack 3 for Windows XP.  Reboot several times.  Then start visiting http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and continue to install post-SP3 90 updates +.

It's one of the reasons to hate windows zillion.

I have a stone age old pc at home with windows home sp1. wanted to use to rip a cd because my new laptop doesn't have a cd player. old windows media player only it RIP wmv (without option of mp3 or wav). so wanted to level or RIP in itunes.

Impossible to pass. Cannot install itunes. Cannot install anything, because of the sp1. Cannot download sp2. stuck.

Launch your own question.  Click 'Join', then 'ask a question '.

I did it for you, then...

You don't need sp2.  You can install sp3 directly from sp1.

You must download and install service pack 3 XP until Windows Update works manually.  Download sp3 here--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24

    Before you install sp3, read this--> http://msmvps.com/blogs/harrywaldron/archive/2008/05/08/windows-xp-sp3-read-all-prerequisites-for-a-successful-installation.aspx

If your age unidentified Pierre PC is a HP Pavilion and Presario Media Center and has an AMD processor, you must install this hotfix before you install SP3 --> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=pv-60484-2

After sp3 installed (by running the downloaded file), reboot twice.  Then the resolution method 2 here--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

    Install an antivirus program.

Go to Windows Update and get all updates criticism post-sp3.

  • Installation of XP/SP3 / requests sfc/scannow command

I have a genuine copy of XP SP3 installed on my computer (performed by a computer technician), but previously, I don't have an XP installation CD and I didn't know the details of the product key.

I managed to get the 25 product key - Belarc figure both Magical Jelly Bean (!) Detectors of key Windows gave me exactly the same code.

I also managed to get a XP SP2 installation CD authentic with COA + keys used - haven't seen any ones SP3 and Microsoft is no longer distribute a XP software. It says distribution only with a new PC - is this correct?

Will be a computer technician can reinstall XP SP3 using the this and updated - SP3 will still be available for download now that support has ended for XP?

In addition, you kindly confirm that this CD that will allow me to make the sfc/scannow command. ; When I tried to asked me repeatedly for the XP installation CD.

This CD SP2 / SP3 computer difference leaves me unsure.

A modern operating system would be better I know, but I'm not able to get a new computer at the moment.

Your CD of XP sp2 is an "OEM" version rather than a retail version, but if you have the correct key, it works perfectly.  The problem with OEM installations, is that they are linked to the computer on which they were first installed... then once installed, it cannot be installed on another computer (and replace the motherboard is considered as "another computer").

Service Pack 3 is available for download and will continue to be available in the foreseeable future.  If you have a new installation using the SP2 CD, download you the sp3 and install it manually (you must have sp3 before Windows Update will strive to give you the post-sp3 updates).

That said, it is easy to create an installation cd of sp3 by a process called "slipstreaming".  You can do it yourself, but any competent computer technology needs to know how to do it.  See http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/slipstreaming-windows-xp-to-create-bootable-cd/

You can even create an installation CD which includes sp3 as well as all the critical updates that came after sp3.  See http://xdot.tk/

There are a few caveats to keep in mind before installing sp3:

    Before installing sp3, read this article--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717

If your PC is a HP Pavilion and Presario Media Center and has an AMD processor, this hotfix must be installed before installing sp3-->

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?CC=UK&LC=en&DLC=en&softwareitem=PV-60484-2

    Install SP3 for download--> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24

ignore the text which says that it is for network installations and also ignore the text informing Windows/Microsoft Update If a single update of a PC.

Regarding the use of sfc/scannow command which will require an installation CD is the same service pack that is installed on the computer, BUT using sfc/scannow almost certainly NOT help you in any difficulty that you are likely to encounter.  Despite the many Web sites that you can see who is advised to use this command, simply is not what people think than that, at least for XP.

  • I need to download and install KB896256 for multi-cores (AMD) after upgrading to SP3?

I made a new build after my old PC has stagnated.

The new PC using an AMD PhenomII X 4.

After you install SP3, I read on XP Pro Optimization for multi-cores and discover KB896256.

What I have to install KB896256 after SP3 to optimize XP for this multi-core processor?

    Thank you.

No, not if SP3 and all post-SP3 updates have been installed successfully (in which case the fix would not yet installed).

  • After you install Windows XP SP3, I am unable to use my modem.

I had Windows XP2 on two of my computers and one day he came with an update for XP3 it says that you can download now so I asked data doctors on this issue and they said yes go before I did. But now I can't use my modem that I paid for new install when I bought them. When I tried to put in place my fax modem it askes me to insert the CD XP3, but I do not because I upgarded to line. How can I remove XP3 and reinstall my XP2 I still have my cd, s on both computers.

original title: I got Windows XP2

I guess you could uninstall service pack 3 (using the control panel > Add / Remove Programs), then install Services of Fax and then reinstall the service pack 3, but I do not know the consequences of doing this on all the updates post-sp3 installed.

(If you really want to do it this way, I suggest seeking advice from experts in the Windows Update forum posting asking "is it safe to uninstall and reinstall xp sp3".  Include in the body of your message a question on post-sp3 updates).

Because you have a Windows XP sp2 CD, the best thing for you to do is to create a CD of XP sp3 using the process known as "slipstreaming."  If you have a CD burner on your computer (i.e., a CD player that can write as well as to read the CD), it is a relatively easy thing to do - and it's always good to have a handy day XP installation CD.

There are many websites that explain how to do this.  Here are 3:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/slipstreaming-Windows-XP-to-create-bootable-CD/
    http://Lifehacker.com/386526/slipstream-Service-Pack-3-into-your-Windows-XP-installation-CD

  • Can I get an installation Win XP Pro Update CD includes SP3? The one I have now is pre - SP2 and reinstalling the operating system takes 4-EVER!

My existing Windows XP Pro installation CD is almost a decade, and it precedes SP2. It's a nightmare, whenever I have to reinstall the operating system as ut takes a day or two to download Microsoft updates. Is it possible to replace my installation CD with a newer version, including a number of post-SP3 updates and SP3?

You do this using a technique called "slipstreaming".  You start with a genuine XP installation CD and add in the necessary service packs and updates.

If your CD-ROM is sp1 or 1A, you can just slipstream sp3.  If you have XP 'or' (pre - sp1), it is more complicated.

There are many websites that explain how to do this.  Google for "slipstream sp3 of xp" or something similar.

This site claims to have a script that will create a slipstreamed XP sp3 and all post-sp3 CD critical updates (description wrongly "sp2").  I the have not used and do not have any information on how easy it is or if she actually does what it says.

Here, as mentioned, we don't have no need make any stage post mentioned for the patches 13001379 and 13366268 installation. That's why I jumped the post install step.

  • adpatch: Question about studies required patches already installed

Looking for best practices advice here. I need to install a patch that has prior tasks and specified necessary studies. One of the post-requis patch is already installed. What is the general direction here, re - install the patch post required after installing the required components and the patch itself?

    Hello

I have install 22222, down from the version of the file 12.0.1111.1 aaaaa<>

This file will not be overwritten as you already have the new version of the file that is installed on your system. adpatch compares the version of the fix and will replace it if a newer version is included in the hotfix only.

  • Portege S100 - reinstall Windows XP using F6 and RAID drivers

I have this announcement in the hope that it helps someone.

Well my hard drive is dead, so got a replacement one. I'm not so innocently, I thought that, just down load the drivers from the website of the original dvd.
So did all of this and the raid has yet to see! Changed the settins to raid in the bios that you get by pressing ESC, then the default values, restart and go back into bios goto page 3 - which is so visible. Make sure that the disc is set to1raid0 - download the manual, but you must agree to any change in typing 1234 when it asks for a string from the manual. Anyway did all that - still no visible drive - so which continues.

Well apparently there are 2 sets of pilots kr10n and kr10i - that givesyou site is kr10n drivers. That may work for the most recent, but not mine! My laptop needs the kr10i which I can't find on the site tosiba. BUT http://download.cnet.com/raid-drv-20070719134547-zip/3000-18492_4-174094.html or you can google for raid-drv-20070719134547

The steps for me were so use nlite to add the drivers of kr10i on a WinXP SP3 patched cd and start using that. It was work related.

After that, everything went great! Well, I didn't have much hair initially, but even less after having finished the process.

    Good luck

    Hello

Thanks for posting this short statement here in the forum.
I think it might be useful for some users who try to install Win XP and try to include the RAID drives.

I installed Win XP and I'm using the nLite tool to include the RAID driver!
