Post your use of slower RAM (series 3 of Yoga)

Hello world

How much MB/GB of ram using you guys after a reboot? I'm trying to see if I have a hardware problem while I am still under warranty. In my other post, I'm at 4 GB of RAM used after a refresh of the Windows installation.

Thank you!

Great use of the RAM is very very unlikely to be a hardware problem.

Go to resource monitor, the memory tab and see what process is using the memory.

Don't have my Y3P with me, but it is idling at the memory usage about 3.2 GB (2 GB, which is actually a VIRTUAL drive for temporary files).

    Hello Holywood82002,

    Thank you for posting.  I have additional information for you.  I have a very similar setup as you do.  You are your system running at its full potential.  It is enough what will use all your resources of computers at a time.  Short run many graphic programs (Maya, 3d Studio Max and Photoshop), while Media Player (fully loaded with media) in the background and a game all at the same time (so I did), you won't exploit fully all 8 GB of ram at any given time.  I could barely within just 4 gigs.  The only reason why your system uses same 3.5 GB of ram is because SuperFetch Vista function caching your file exchange and frequently used programs in ram, which is very effective for memory management.

    HolyWood then, do not hesitate to smile because you have very good computer. Zack

    This is a limitation of the 32-bit system.  ~1.5 concerts that are not available are probably used by your video card.

  • Great use of the RAM in the new MacBook Air?

    It's the first time I've owned a Mac and it is currently a week. I use every day since it arrived (watching videos, using the word and research). Recently, I found my way on activity monitor, 7.5 GB of physical memory to 8 GB was in use - 3 GB of this was kernel_task. I stopped all open windows, so it is now 1.11 GB, but it still seems way too high. That said, I know nothing of what it should be, so I would like to know if this is normal? If this is not the case, what I can do to lower the kernel_task? (In addition, the kernel_task is GB 25,42 disk tab, should I worry?)

    Set apart this, nearly half of the RAM is still in use and I would like to know if it's too normal - for such a new mac.

    The system was not slowed down at all, while I use it, but if there is a problem, I would like to know before it becomes a problem. If the problem comes from the manufacturer and not how I use the mac, I of the ofc as contact with Apple.

    Features: 8 GB of RAM, Intel Core i5, 256SSD

    Captain El in OS X, version 10.11.4

    Thank you!

    Yes, it's normal.  On operating systems newer, the OSX tries to use as much RAM is available for maximum efficiency.

    The new setting is the PRESSURE.  If it's Green, everything is good.  If she turns to orange or red, then there may be issues that need to be addressed.

    Say hello to new parthcool.

    It is a normal behavior of a browser like Chrome or Firefox.  You run several tabs in Chrome?  Chrome treats each tab as a separate instance of the browser and for this purpose a separate process.  It is a good feature because it means that a hanging web page will not (usually) bring down the browser everything.  However, this means that Chrome uses a lot of RAM.

    Using intensive plugins memory within these tabs, like Adobe Flash, will greatly increase the amount of memory used.

    Here is a screencap of my own memory used within Chrome.  I did open Chrome before that and I currently have seven tabs.  This represents about 400 MB with pages containing the text for most.

    Unfortunately, because this is a consequence of the features of the browser itself, there are only a few options to solve the problem.  You can try to minimize the amount of memory that Chrome uses by following the instructions in this article.

    Your second option is to upgrade your laptop to include more memory.  You also extend the usefulness of your laptop.  If you want to go this route, I need your product number to locate the appropriate parts and information.  Follow this document to locate the product number.

    Finally, and this is probably the most effective solution, is to use the Ready Boost of the window function.  Ready Boost allows you to use Flash memory, such as a USB key, as secondary memory for your computer.  Here's a great thread in which explains how to use Ready Boost.

    I hope you find this useful parthcool; have a great day!

  • How to check the use of the ram?

    I have 3 GB of ram on my pc, and I want to know how to check the use of the ram in xp pro? is the use of FP in taskmanager? or (k) of the kernel memory?

    I have 3 GB of ram on my pc, and I want to know how to check the use of the ram in xp pro? is the use of FP in taskmanager? or (k) of the kernel memory?

    Yes, Yes... and no. All applications on your computer uses RAM, not only the pagefile or system (kernel).

    What are you really trying to do?

    See http://www.petri.co.il/pagefile_optimization.htm , especially the part under "How Pagefile your system use?"

  • is an HTTP Post possible using webworks/widget SDK or what I should use Java widget?

    Hi all

    I use webworks and widget SDK to make a simple application where I need to do the following

    (1) open a site called www.mytest.com

    (2) display the following parameters with the request to open the site

    Login = true

    UserID = one

    password = b

    Is this possible using BlackBerry Widget SDK? I looked at the blackberry.invoke.BrowserArguments and I do not think that it allows that.

    Is this a limitation to the use of webworks? If so, that is the only alternative is to develop a widget of java and use the browser2 field?

    Thank you

    Parag

    Yes, you can...

    When you make an Ajax request, on your call to the open() of XMLHttpRequest objects method use the following:

    XMLHTTP. Send ('post', URL, true);

    XMLHTTP. Send (post_string);

    WHERE

    'post': your request method

    URL: the url to which the http request you

    true: to make it asynchronous (Note: this is the default behavior)

    post_string: is a urlencoded string containing all your post variables and their values like this

    "xc =" + encodeURI (element.value) + '& xd =' + encodeURI (element2.value)...

    You should be fine here as long as you know how to create an XMLHttpRequest object and can use GET, this should be familiar.

    I had the problem solved. Thank you for your help. I had to get help from an engineer, I know. It's fast enough, but it looked like he deleted the old and installed the new and it seemed that perhaps the launch could have the issue? Not exactly, it's almost as if the launch was set for the old version... but don't want to send someone on the cause of the bad way, I don't know, but he later installed to firefox 38.1 or another... the 29. SOLVED. Thank you for taking the time to help. It was frustrating problem.
