Poster No. 8.0 Firefox new tab next to the tab open, have to manually select the new tab
I see is more a new tab when I have a tab in FF 3.6 and 4.0 running, when I opened a site in a tab, then a new tab appears automatically to the right of the tab in use... I checked the settings on the tab options and all correct... So now, I have to select manually 'New tab' if I want to open a new tab... and it is not to open a new site in a new tab is selected in the OPTIONS, instead of that it opens in the courses tab, so it is the substitution of the tab I'm on... very frustrating... How can I go back to FF 4.0? Thank you TB
You are welcome: glad it works for you now.

How can I move the button reload of the page in firefox OSX for next to the back button where it was before I updated.
I know there is an addon for windows Classic theme, but I need a fix for osx... its very frustrating when you update and things like this change and can be customized to the way we are used to using the browser. his counter intuitive to have the page button refresh so far from the back and home buttons.never mind, I found the preferences in the addon manager... Thanks again!

Firefox3.6.18, running on Windows XP (all patches from Microsoft), opens with a single tab. By clicking on the tab add '+' or by pressing CTRL T does not open a new tab, even if I open a new window. In addition, when you exit Firefox, my location of the tab is not saved.
Please click the button solved it next to the answer that solved your problem of Firefox support, it appears when you are connected, so this thread is marked as resolved to help other users who may have this same problem.

Every time I have customize the toolbar, it open new tab sign which is the + sign next to the tab in the tab bar finally disappears and it remains so, even after restarting Firefox. This happens only after the update to the new version 4.0.1 it's never happened in older versions 3.x.xx - checked three times. Think it might be a bug and I didn't know where to report is not time and patience to find the appropriate page, so I'm here to improve my favorite browser.
Did you move the button tab of the palette or another toolbar?
You can try to click on 'Restore Default Set', which should bring back this button on the tab bar.

This window looks weird: there are 2 blue bars (the blue top bar - normally, there are 1, with the name of the current page and - Mozilla Firefox written in white within the bar) as well as in the 2nd bar there is an orange firefox, on the left side button.
I already asked this question and advised to start in safe mode - that did not help either.
Please help me quickliy, it's really annoying.
Thank you

When I click on the tab with a + on it, located next to the current tab, a new page does not open. If I click on 'New tab' in the file menu, a new tab does not open.
Thanks for posting the details of your system. I'm skeptical about the "CompTool0234 Community Toolbar". Could you disable some add-ons and see if that helps.
On this tab:
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category
Disable «Conduit Plugin»
On this tab:
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category
Disable the CompTool0234 community toolbar.
Then very probably a link will appear to restart Firefox to make the change. Does make a difference?

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and I got a problem on my Norton spyware toolbar is not incompatible, but anyway, the most important thing that makes me choose Firefox on any other web browser is that I am able to save tabs and then exit. I think it was more great things because I could run my laptop off and save energy and when I got home I'm cold to take back what I what to do. My question is simply is you never have it save tabs and leave the new service or at least a way people would turn the function on will.
One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.
- Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.
- By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs on the output unless you're in private browsing mode. You can restore the next time by:
- by clicking on the Firefox button > history > "restore previous Session ', or
- type of Subject: House in the URL bar and press the Enter key, then press the button "restore previous Session."
- Note: This was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.
Things to check:
- Browsing history must be saved
- Button Firefox: Firefox button > Options > Options > privacy > [X] Remember my browsing history
- Menu bar: Tools > Options > privacy > [X] Remember my browsing history
- Also, make sure that you do not erase "Browsing history" when you use clear recent history or when Firefox is closed
- Using clear recent history
- Button Firefox: Firefox button > history > clear recent history
- Menu bar: Tools > clear recent history
- When Firefox is closed
- Button Firefox: Firefox button > Options > Options > privacy (verified) > settings
- Menu bar: Tools > Options > privacy (verified) > settings
- See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History
- Using clear recent history
- Make sure that you are not in private browsing mode or in private browsing mode permanent:
- If you have the Tab Mix Plusextension, and then clear the built-in session restore.
To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:
- Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
- Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
- Open the preferences/list page
- Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
- If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
- browser.warnOnQuit
- browser.warnOnRestart
- browser.showQuitWarning
- Note: last pref is new in Firefox 4 b 12, may need to add (boolean)

How can get the new button tab on the side right and right next to the most recent tab?
Firefox has just updated and the 'new tab' button is a stand-alone icon now. I can place on the far left of my bar tabs or the far-right of my tab bar. It used to be to the right of the tabs, directly next to the tabs.
Please give me the option to have him again as former.
Chrome is still using the classic way, I do not understand what you people think this.
This isn't a threat, or something but I'm saying that it hurts me terribly uncomfortable to use Firefox like this, and I prefer to use Chrome now because the new tab button adjacent to and to the right of the tabs.
Please, I would still rather using Firefox, but not in this State. Please give me the option to return to the classic.
Thank you.
You can click default settings in the palette to customize to reset the toolbar customization.

Alrighty, the Firefox on my laptop (und such that she has always been with Firefox for me) has the "Open a new tab" button as a tab himself. Always to the right of the tabs I have open und is smaller with only one more sign on this subject. (+) I hit that, bam, a new tab page opens upward, always with the + page to the right to open another tab, if I want to.
Yet, on the desktop that I use currently, this option isn't here. Instead, Open a button tab is a real personal touch I can move it anywhere near the bar of the browser, much as I have with the: start a conversation, current downloads, bookmark, home, options, privacy, etc... buttons.
I like the feature to open a new tab with Firefox on my laptop but not on my desktop. However, I can't find anything on how to open a new tab appears with the real tablets themselves where it is conveniently next to the tab I'm on that, rather than being a button where I have to go to one side or the other of my screen to get a new tab to open...
How do I change it?
The image I have uploaded, 'B', this is what is on my desk, 'A' is what is on my laptop. "A" is what I want on my desktop.
Don't know what you're going with "expected normal behavior." I was asking how to pass from one to the other, in this case 'B' to 'A' in regards to my image is concerned. But, in any case, go out of your first line "the new tab button displays a button"+"when the button is on the tab bar", it's answered my question without answering it directly.
I asked how to get from one to the other, I know that both are possible. Which... answer my question would have been:
Just drag the new customizable tab to the tabs above button, not the toolbar with the browser bar, etc. below.
Behavior is not what I was asking, I was wondering how to change from one to the other. But thanks, move the button to the top with the tabs is what has changed for me in what I wanted.

Older versions have a down arrow next to the front and rear buttons to view all the pages you have visiteed and can come back but the new version doesn't have this feature
Click and hold the unified back / next button, or right-click to get the rear / front in the history of this tab.
Or install this extension to get the restored former "drop-marker" button.

In Firefox 3, there was a button that would open up a new tab. This button was close to my address (next to the home, refresh, buttons etc.) bar and can also be used when I had no open tag (unlike the + on the tabbar, who is only there when I turn on my tabbar).
Although there is a button I can add that will open a new window, I would like to know if it is possible to have a similar button that will open a new tab.https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/how+to+customize+the+toolbar
There is a button tab in the Customize Palette, simply move it to a location of your choice.

When I start Firefox, just my use of the homepage (my g-mail) to open. All of a sudden, my homepage and some free computer game page opens. How can I get this other page to open no more?
Thank you!
Do you have the same two tabs when you launch a new window (Ctrl + n) or only at startup?
You can check your extensions in case something snuck in. You can view and clear the page modules. Either:
- Command + shift + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.
Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
Who closes down the extra page?

How can I put the new tab + sign back next to the tabs where it is easier to use?
Since the new version has been installed on my office yesterday, the + sign (which was next to the tab) is now at the extreme top right section of the toolbars. It was much easier to use the + sign when he was next to the tabs. Please tell me how to get this put back next to the tabs.
I tried your fix... will be customized and dragging the sign + in the box, etc., but it did not work more me. Other ways to do it?

No indication on how to achieve this will be very welcome.
There is not an integrated framework for the opening of new tabs "unrelated" everywhere except at the end of the tab bar.
Various add-on authors tackled this request over the years. It is not really clear to me that these extensions are still working, but you might check the reviews and see what you think. (I have not tried these myself)
