Pouvez PCI-6133 aquire acceleration?

Types of PCI-6133 can include NO acceleration. If I connect did to the PCI-6133, then select the voltage as the type of measure. What dose the acquired signal mean? Is there a relationship between this signal voltage and actual acceleration?

Hi Claire,

The external signal conditioner should just a signal of output voltage.  You will then want to create a task of voltage and adjust the signal accordingly.  You do not have to power personalized with excitement, because you will not apply the excitement via the 6133.  As long as you have a signal conditioner that generates a voltage output, you'll be fine using the 6133.

Best,

  • 6143 - PCI or PCI-6133: simultaneous reading of analog, digital, and counter

    Hello Board,

I want to use a PCI-6143 or 6133 to acquire permanently synchronized values ports analog, digital, and counter on the same device.

I use vb.net to build an application that reads the values of the device buffer and stores them in lists for later use.

By reading some other threads I discovered, that all the S series devices are able to use a source of material for the release of the digital ports.

Here are two among them? What meter ports, they suffer from the same problem?

Software trigger is no option because the sampling rate must be accurate.

Thanks in advance for the answers,

    M.B.

    Hi M.B.

6143 does not support Correlated DIO (i.e. clocked by the hardware), the 6133 (see-> digital I/o--> Timing). As a result, synchronized doing of entry works with the latter. Acquisition of meter in the buffer is available on both devices. The 6133 also authorizes analog and digital triggering.

To synchronize these tasks, you need to export a clock signal (sample clock HAVE for example) and take to the DIOs and counters for an acquisition in the buffer. An example for synchronization of AI and DI is given once you install the DAQmx driver in the folder when you are using Windows XP. Maybe you can start with that and gradually add your features.

Please let me know if you need more specific information.

    Kind regards

  • Why does take so long to clear a task (with the DMA transfer) using the PXI bus?

I am migrating from a system that has the habit of using a PCI-6133 (8 channels HAVE simultaneous) and PCI-6733 (8 channels AO) to one that uses a PXI-6133 and PXI-6733 mounted in a PXI-1033 chassis.

In general, things seem to be working (synchronized I / AO to run near the maximum speed on both devices), with the exception that the compensation an AO task on the PXI-6733 takes always (the order of 20-30 seconds).

Even when I try the generation of the sine wave for the PXI-6733 in MAX test Panel, it takes the same amount of time to stop the task. If I switch to the use of interrupts as transfer mechanism, it stops immediately.

I tried to use the transfer mechanism of interruption on my more demanding set of synchronized tasks, but that does not produce good behavior (even if he doesn't give any errors).

Is there a trick (or the best diagnosis) to help get my tasks working with DMA under PXI that worked very well on PCI?

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Patrick. I tried on another computer (Dell T5400) and everything worked as expected. I think that the problems I have experienced on the first computer were due to a conflict with a PXI driver for another card I have not installed during my tests (and which I did not know was PXI, but he appeared as a PXI device in M & A once I put it in it should have a kind of PCI - PXI bridge internal?). So ultimately, pure card / slot / pilot shenanigans and everything seems to be fine now.

  • How to increase the performance of xy-graph

    Hello

I'm running a continuous collection of data with a NI PCI 6133 (4 x channel HAVE @ 2, 5MS/s each) on a WIN 7 PC (LabView FDS 2012). Inside a while loop I'm able to acquire 2000 samples per loop for each channel with a stable performance loop of about 1, 25 kHz. Out of these data, I'm 24 calculation values that will be shown on 6 xy-graphs (4 values on each chart). Data acquisition runs up to 2 minutes.

Preparation of data and setting xy-graphs updated seems to be a big bottleneck. For this I wrote a simple point of interest, by comparing the xy-graph and table diagram performance clearify. For the same amount of data, the chart table is about 3 times faster, according to the ability to draw only the last value again. The xy-graph must update the whole plot of each iteration.

If I also remove the preparation of complex data of the xy-chart, the chart diagram is up to 6 times faster.

    Landmark xy-graph

Diagram graph of reference (including the preparation of data for chart xy)

Benchmark graph diagram (without preparation of data for chart xy)

    Questions

-Are there a way to optimize the data part of preparation of the xy-graph?

-Is it possible to draw only the last value again in a xy chart as a graphic diagram?

Why can I not use a graphic diagram?

-Because the time base is not constant.

    My ideas:

(1.) during measurement, I use a graphical diagram. I know that there will be some failure according to the variable time base. After the acquisition of the acquired data will be shown in xy-graphs (as an only necessary update) with the good time base.

2.), I show all the data in a xy chart. Maybe just values the last 1000 would be sufficient.

XY-graph with simply display the last 1000 values of reference

Are there other ideas how to speed up xy-graphs?

Thank you very much and best regards,

    Michael

This does not mean that you cannot use a chart.  You should read my injurywaveform charts nugget.  As long as you acquire your DAQmx device signals, you can wire all your signals directly in the table and it will load the time base.

  • bad signal output generations

    Dear all,

I want to record and output data with two separate cards (later synchronously).
For data acquisition, I use the NI PCI-6133, for the data output, the NI PCI-6733.
The data collection works, but there are problems with the data output. In the first ms the desired signal (eg. Sinusoidal 25kHz, 1V) is issued, but after a certain time a sinusoidal output with about twice as high frequency occurs, the actual signal occurs only sporadically on.
The desired and undesired signal seem arbitrary to change. In addition other frequencies were tested which attain the same result. In the appendix of the current code, and some recording of the problem (with the PCI-6133 & oscilloscop measured). Can anyone explain the error?

Personally, I think that the first step is to remove the Structure of sequence - it is absolutely not necessary (you use correctly the wire of the error to serialize the main steps of the data stream).  It becomes big, bulky on the block schema structure will allow you to "reduce" it to a more reasonable size.

Here are a few questions and comments.

    • You have a current activate button, you seem to be set up a channel of AI voltage (not a current AI).
    • Why is the function AO Start Task in a "First Call" Case statement?  According to the block diagram, it is not in a loop, so it has the first appeal and the Case statement is not necessary.
    • I did not AO output waveform, so I won't comment on the loop of the AO.
    • I have done HAVE sampling.  Why you have a Stop function and clear the tasks inside the loop?  Only after acquiring the data?  [I think you have to put these two functions and the error handler, outside the while loop].
    • By putting them HAVE and AO in the same loop, you are forcing them to run at the same time.  If that's what you want to and if they have the same time 'cycle', and if there is enough "free time" for all other calculations that you have to do inside the While loop with a loop may be OK.  Especially if they are cycles at different rates, you should have them in parallel while loops.

Looking forward to Version 2.  Try to get as much of your diagram of block on a single screen as possible.  Do not hesitate to 'hide details' in under face.

  • Trigger on the first attempt

I'd like some help / advice on my LabView program (attached) please. In the VI, the MyVoltageTask_1 is configured as a voltage signal corresponding to a pressure change inside an enclosed cylinder. The signal is transmitted to the BNC 2110 DAQ board / PCI 6133 DAQ card via a differential pressure transducer.

Ideally, the program should trigger as soon as I let air into the cylinder and start acquiring data, and stop as soon as its done. However, LabView does not trigger when I let the air into the cylinder on the first attempt, but if I exhaust the air and let it in again a second time, the program triggers and I can see a graph of the pressure trace. Please let me know if there is something I should / could change in the program to have the program trigger on the first attempt. Thanks!

  • PIC of noise between two materials DAQ

I have two data acquisition systems a number of measuring channels. The idling system is using two chassis SCXI and digitisation about 128 channels at 200 Hz. The low speed of computer uses a PCI - 6259 MIO.

8 eight channels are te would be on their way to a data acquisition hardware high speed at 8000 Hz. On the high speed computer, there's a spike of discerete to 5ms (corresponding to 200 Hz). High speed computer is a card PCI-6133 S-series (measurement of the differential mode).

When I change the low speed at 100 Hz scanning speed, the tip on broadband computer is 10 MS (corresponding to 100 Hz).

My question is if all digital lines controlling the SCXI chassis produce this spike that is being picked up by the high speed Board.

Both DAQ cards are installed on two different computers and are not connected in anyway except for the analog voltage signals 8 eight Tee would have turned off and connected.

Any ideas to solve this problem would be appreciated.

  • How to synchronize the start of the acquisition of two cards of different daq hardware

    Hello

I'm running a continuous acquisition with a PCI-6133 (@2,5. MECH / s per channel, 8 channels) and a PCI-6259 (@250 ksps / sec per channel, channel 3). Both performed in the same loop. The raw data from the data acquisition boards are written in a separate file PDM. Because the sampling frequency of the 6133 is 10 times higher than 6259, each loop, the number of values read from the 6133 is 10 times higher than 6259. If I look in the tdms file, I see the two acquisitions does not begin at the same time.

    timestamp of the acquisition

    PCI-6259: 02.06.2016 13:09:14, 866

    PCI-6133: 02.06.2016 13:09:14, 941

Also, the number of samples of the 6133 is not 10 times higher.

    number of samples

    PCI-6259: 4949658

    PCI-6133: 49309378

    questions

-How can I synchronize the beginning of acquisition? Are there some tutorials?

-What could be the reason why the erroneous report of samples (should be 10 between the daq cards)?

    Thank you very much.

    Michael

    Hello Michael,

the beginning of the acquisition can't at the same time as you do not use a common trigger. If you adjust for the different start time, the difference in the number of samples is only about 300 samples (0, 075 s difference at the beginning of the acquisition, which amounts to 187500 samples).

This difference of 300 samples occurs because the schedules of the 2 cards are not synchronized.

If you want to synchronize the starting and the acquisition between 2 cards, you need to connect with a cable RTSI. In this way, you can route the 1 device to another sample clock. The delivery of the sample through the RTSI cable clock is done automatically by the DAQmx driver.

    Dear community LabView,

I'm trying to run a Basler Sprint Mono spL-2048-70 km with a frame grabber module NI PCIe-1433. While the initial start-up was plug-and-play, turning the camera to the specified maximum speed (300 kHz) proves to be a challenge.

Namely, I use the camera with a trigger in burst mode (main trigger frequency 10 Hz + burstmode up to 300 kHz) but the maximum reproducible work rep for the burst rate is around 30 kHz. I tried various options to increase the overall pace over the last few days but hit a wall.

The system is a desktop based Win 7:

    Win 7 Enterprise SP 1

    Intel Core i5-2500 @ 3.3 GHz

    8 GB ram

I have attached the sample code I use below. Its the first time I tried to create fram high rate of requests so I hope it's just a very obvious mistake that can be fixed quickly and elegant.

    Dear NIko,

    Thanks again for your involvement.

I found yet another entry in the forum which helped me a lot.

    https://forums.NI.com/T5/machine-vision/acquisition-rate-is-half-of-trig-rate-why/TD-p/2029160/page/...

Even if it of another camera and resembles another question originally it solved my problem. It seems one must trigger the acquisition card in ' Action: trigger start of acquisition "mode and the device itself in" exposure control: triggered "in order to avoid long latencies and reach higher than 100 kHz framerates.

    Brief overview:

    -use the Vi posted

-define the Framegrabber Action: trigger the start of the acquisition

-define a camera exposure control: triggered

-Use 512 pixel AOI (via Basler CTC +)

-OR-Max allows you to set the source of external camera command-line (moving the switch directly to the camera)

--> Aquire burst mode with frequency intraburst up to 200 kHz (not sure if about 200 kHz creates problems)

    ---> be happy

The specification from the point of view, the camera must be able to still 300 kHz. The frequency of my goal is 200 kHz I see this issue as resolved.

  • Measure acceleration and temperature simultaneously

    Hello

I have problems to make a correct temperature measurement and stable, I think that measures acceleration are correct. I use a PCI 61110 data acquisition and the temperature sensor is a type k thermocouple, I tried to change the thermocouple with a probe, but the result has not changed and I checked the examples to see if I got something wrong in my code but I can't seem to find it. Please could someone help me and the vi is attached below.

    Hi Bnzi,

I looked at your code and it seems fine to me, then I would try the simple tests to see if it works.

Try to ensure that you can see your card in Measurement & Automation (MAX).

    • Open LabVIEW, got to the 'Help' tab > find examples

    • Glance in the middle and open area"input output material & > DAQmx > Analog measures > temperature '

    • Then choose an appropriate example (for example sample Thermocouple Acq) and try with your hardware

If it works, then it should refine the question to know if the problem is the code, drivers or your hardware.

    I hope this has helped!

    Hello Hunsinger D, welcome.

My suggestion would be to first see if you have the latest version on your ATI drivers.

You can find the latest version of your card here. Its the latest version of 64-bit Windows 7 from the site Web of ATI CCC:

    https://a248.e.Akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ATI.com/drivers/9-6_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu.exe

Once downloaded, run the installer and it should guide you through the installation process, which most will be automatic. It will require a reboot Afterwords.

Depending on the applications you run, they cannot be completely compatible with DirectX 11, which is what Windows 7 is running in native mode. We can try to force apps to run in the mode of DirectX 9/10.

Try this to force the application to run on DirectX 9:

1 find / create a shortcut to the application
    2. right click on the shortcut and select Properties
    3. click on the tab 'Shortened' at the top (if not already done)
    4. in the field "Target", go at the end of the quoted text, put a space and add - dx9

The result should look like that in nature, even if the path in quotes may be different:

    "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe"-dx9

As long as there is a space between the "" text and - tag dx9 you will be fine.

    5. click on 'Apply' at the bottom and close the window. Now try to start the application.

If please reply back and let us know the results.

  • ThinkCentre M51 SFF 8104 - PCI graphics card

I'm hoping to add a second graphics card for my Ultra small, M51, which has only a 32-bit PCI (not PCIe) slot. While I am aware that much slower speed of the PCI in the PCIe (or even AGP) bus stop from playing any modern (say > 2005) games, I'm not really that interested in 3D performance. The main reason I want the additional card is so I can use an output for my projector (not HD) and maybe even plug a third monitor integrated card (Intel GMA 900) - if I'm not forced to disable this. Is this likely to work? Has anyone here successfully added a PCI graphics card to a ThinkCentre, or any other computer with an Intel 915GV (* blech *) motherboard chipset?

I know that some people suggest you need a bigger power supply for some of the fastest PCI cards, but I'm not sure about this. For a card that will be classified as PCI, it must be within the electrical specifications for the PCI bus, which includes the voltage and current, no? If I'm wrong about this, I would be happy to settle for something more modest, as long as it provides DVI output, some 3D acceleration, but also MPEG decompression. Any input on this very appreciated!

Another restriction could be the space required for the card, the case accepts a PCI full-height, half-length, but will be a little better maybe with a card low profile to leave a little more room for air circulation. I certainly don't think that a passively cooled card would work as there is virtually no room for air circulation. And even with an actively cooled card, I recognize that I might need to add a few extra air holes.

Why go through all this trouble? Well, I love the little ThinkCentre Ultra compact. The case is very well built, it is very pretty in this industrial kind so that IBM had so well - and it's very nice and quiet too (despite the P4HT Prescott). Gigabit LAN, 6 USB, 3.5 "HDD bay (got a 1 TB drive is and the fact that I can use my laptop DVD burner into the UltraBay slot are all nice positives.) I'm not a fan of large desktop computers and can not afford a mini-ITX with PCIe system...

For any help or suggestion very appreciated!

P.S. PCI graphics cards I've been looking at are GeForce 8400 GS Sparkle and 9400 GT cards as well as Radeon X 1300 VisionTek and X 1550. And then there's the new ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO too!

Update: I have now installed a graphics PowerColor HD 2400 Pro PCI in my system. I had to replace the passive radiator with a combination of radiator & fan (the card has holes of standard editing for it), because there was not enough room for it. Also, the case is so narrow that there is no way the airflow around the PCI slot would have been sufficient to adequately cool the GPU. Unfortunately I could not find the drivers for the use of this card under Windows 2000 (my OS preferred) so I'm stuck with XP - but the card works fine and I can get today with the built in Intel GMA chip, giving me three exits (2 x VGA, 1 x DVI) video. Perfect!

    HTH,

    Lomax
