Power on Satellite P100 problems

Hello

I just had my second adapter percent machine and it sounds like a common fault with this model (P100-286). Is it possible to change the power supply of a 4 pins that I have now to single round pin that seems more robust that I have a second laptop, but not a Toshiba.

My adapter is a 15V 8A and I know that you can buy a replacement with single pin socket, but y at - it a plug power jack compatible with this machine, I can use. If you can offer a model number or a link. Is there anyone who has had the same problem and changed the Jack and is successful.

I also watched the power plug in my machine and it's a 2 red and 2 black wired connection that plugs into the mobo.

No you cannot convert in a single dose, because you need 4 pins for 8 amps requires that the laptop.

Single pin adapters are only 5 or 6 amps.

Are you raising the laptop from the front when the adapter is plugged? This will put a lot of effort on the plug of the adapter and damage it.

    Hi all

I have an Australian original Satellite P100 P/N PSPA6A-02N021 (T7200 2 GHz, 2 GB DDR-667, nVidia 7900GTX, 1680 x 1050 display) on which I just installed the latest Windows 7 RC (Build 7100 uploaded on 6 May). After doing a clean install on a new brand Western Digital 500 GB drive, I've had trouble with no output its (error code 10) default driver Microsoft HD audo.

Because it is a new installation on a disk HARD costs there is no internet connection to research the latest updates during installation. After completing the installation, the search for an updated driver or windows update cannot locate a better driver.

I updated the BIOS to Phoenix Technologies V4.70 (drawn from the Australian Toshiba site).

I checked the audio driver which worked perfectly under Vista Business 32 running on this same laptop, and it was Conexant HD audio driver v3.18.051 (dated 04/12/2006). I got this driver on the net and installed under Win7 RC. This driver installed and working, but now I only sound from the left speaker which is very (too) low level.

What I want to know is, someone at - it else experienced this and how did you solve this problem, or that you have the same or similar Toshiba laptop and the sound works OK or is there another way to do it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

I m asking you want to use an OS that isn't out yet and it s only a Release Candidate...

Have you checked the sound settings on your laptop? Maybe the balance is only on the left speaker.

To be honest, I think you should wait until Windows 7 will be available and you will find more recent drivers for it, they are compatible with Windows 7.

    Good bye

  • Power power on Satellite L850 problem

2 months ago I had a problem and I had my main changed with a new card. Before going into the toshiba service center my battery held only about 1 hour. When I got back my laptop with the new main Board battery is a not even hold for 1 second. It was completely dead and useless. So I ordered a new battery on ebay and I just got today.

When I plug it into the laptop battery LED flashes orange. When I tried power the laptop on nothing's happened. When the battery is in, regardless if the laptop is turned on or off, the light continues to blink and regardless if the power adapter is plugged or not, laptop does not turn on. The only way I powered on with new battery needed to remove and turn right on the adapter and then connect the battery. But when I remove the card, the laptop turns off after 2-3 seconds.

I tried to remove the battery drivers and reinstall them, but it did not help. I also tried to remove the adapter and the battery and keep the power button for a while and who have no effect too.

    Hello

Is this new original Toshiba product of battery or another brand?
To me, this looks like a compatibility issue. Somehow placed electronic power on the motherboard may not work with this new battery.

I have a P100-286, and it has been a great machine until this week.
I turned it on and nothing happens.

The power light, battery and lights close to the speakers all light up.
The HARD drive light comes on briefly then turns off, the screen never lights and nothing happens.

Y at - it sort of lock, I can have accidentally turned on to turn off my HARD drive, or is it just tired?
I hope not, but really need help.

    Thank you very much

    Hey,.

    You can try this workaround:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. After that connect the two devices. Try to start the laptop and see what happens.

If it doesn t work it appears to be a malfunction of the equipment. Maybe the motherboard or the CPU needs to be replaced, but ASP can check for you. :)

  • Coverage on Satellite P100 problem

The orange cover cracked on my P100 was repaired under warranty by toshiba. After about a week and a very prudent use more cracks appear exactly where they did before.

My previous post on this topic has been edited since I mentioned lack of design.
    I've was right or not?

    Hello David

As I see you write a few times since March on this theme and I also followed other offers similar. It's very nice that you deal with that, but I do not understand why you think it's the fault of design. In front of me, I have a P100-437. I think I opened the cover 100 times until ant now that it looks like the 1st day. I don't know how you open the lid of your screen, but I place my hand always in the middle and the pressure on the two hinges of the screen is the same.

I don't know what happens when the warranty runs out, but be careful to this topic and contact service in good time.

    Bye and good luck!

  • On Satellite P100 power supply problem

    Hai
I bought the new laptop Satellite P100. Suddenly it does not start (no power to notebook) and the same time, I have only checked by the only power a/c no result, also do not charge the battery. I put t know what is the reason. Can someone give suggestion?
    Thank you bye.

If the power light is blinking there is probably a problem with the electronic power supply. In this case, the laptop sends flashes code. Read this code, technicians can identify the problem.
Please, don't waste your time but the closest service provider contact allowed in your country.
After 18 months of that guarantee must be valid (it depends of course on where you live) as well as the repair must be free.

  • Satellite P100 - 194 defective Contact on the main power connector

    Hello

Two and a half years ago, I bought my Satellite P100-194. Yesterday, I noticed that I can't use my cell phone on my diet. At first, I thought power has left his job, so I opened it. Today, I checked the entire power supply with a voltmeter. It still seems to work, it gives me twenty-six volts at idle.

After that I checked the connector of my diet and I noticed that it seems not hold very tight in the case of the laptop. So I think that my connector has a contact in loose / faulty.
After that I googled to find some people with the same problem and it was written that Toshiba may fix this loose contact by changing the whole motherboard for about three hundred Euros.
Due to the fact that I am a student, I don't have that kind of money.

Have you any advice for me to get my laptop working again?
Or do you think I have a quite different problem?

    Thank you
    Bastian

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you should visit the nearest Toshiba service provider. Explain the situation and perhaps, they will be able to solve this problem without Exchange of motherboard.
Maybe they'll just resolder the connections.

Talk with them. Be just cool and pleasant. Maybe your charm will help you. ;)

  • Satellite P100-307 - massive heat problem, keypad heater

Had my Satellite P100-307 for almost two years now and it's a good and useful media-notebook, but it never HOT side left keyboard, especially games.

But in recent weeks, the keyboard is pretty HOT and I don't know why! Because I6vgt ´m using only low level applications.

I did a full restore to clean any virus or other malware, but it continues to get hot, as if I where in the highest graphics modes, the games, but just I m using IE7 and a LateX editor for the creation of PDF Documents - that s nothing for a dual-core processor! Kaspersky 7.0 has been throtteld down, as far as the security is allwoing it.

So why it s heat like that in 30 to 60 Minutes. He has never done this before, I m sure.

It s so hot, it's quite unpleasant to work with her, because placing even the heel of your hand next to the touchpad makes my hand sweating!

Would be grateful for any comment or advice,

    Greetings
    AFK

Looks like the laptop is overheated, it is a common problem with laptops that are used in a dusty environment (a room with carpet, for example).

Buy compressed air in a box and spray it in the vents to remove dust.

  • Satellite P100 - 347 (PSPA6) and Conexant audio problem in Windows 7 64 bit

He is a [old problem | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=175972#175972] which seems to have affected many people.

    Conexant HD Audio (hardware id: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_14F1 & DEV_5047 & SUBSYS_1179FF31 & REV_1000)

There has been no official driver published this work in Windows 7 64 bit. It works fine in 32-bit, windows 7, and using different drivers from other sources + partial + fix can be found.

    Using these drivers:

    [Audio 4.8.0.0 | http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/files_downloads/pspa1c/vista/Audio4.8.0.0.zip]
    [sp35683 | ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35501-36000/sp35683.exe]

and some of the advice [here | http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Windows-7/Windows-7-64-bit-drivers-for-P100-P105-Users/m-p/67516], it is possible to get the proper functioning, but * only * when using the S/PDIF (HD) audio output. When the S/PDIF cable is removed the internal speakers make noise for a fraction of a second, then silence.

I tried everything and this issue has been around for months and months, but no perfect solution seems to exist. I was wondering if there is a way to update the drivers of the HD Audio Controller, integrated in Windows 7. Or maybe a hack that allows the internal speakers continue to work (they work for one second!)

Please, any help on this would be greatly appreciated

    Hello

  • Satellite P100-202: problems with screen again

Hi all! I write about a problem with the screen of my Toshiba P100-202. I recently posted in the thread "Satellite P100-202: screen will freeze" and my current problem is actually quite similar to what is explained in the thread "Satellite P100-119: display no longer works. Here is my story, hoping someone can help me avoid having to send the computer to a technician:
I decided after my previous problem, get my screen replaced. Everything seemed fine, except on the occaisonal instances, especially when I was using the "Internet Explorer" program, in which the screen sort of will re-start, IE. everything went black for a few seconds (music, etc. However would continue) then (boom) everything should reappear, sometimes in ultra - zoom for a second or two. The computer (OS = Windows 7) would report "problem with NVIDIA graphics driver", and then the operations would continue normally. This happened several times, but not often, and I was not too worried about it. Then, a few days before, I was using the latest release candidate of Internet Explorer 9 and the screen is blacked out and my music has continued and I thought 'OK, no problem' and then after a few seconds, and then the music stopped (and I thought ' uh - oh ') and then the blue screen of death.
OK, don't panic, reboot, but of course there is no word of welcome, no nothing, just a blank screen, with the backlight still works created a worrisome greyish tint. And then suddenly the mouse appears, followed by the entire screen, so I unwisely rejected the incident. Ten minutes later, same thing and this time, not even the blue screen of death as consolement, just gray nothingness.
A few days of rest, a dusting of battery, but no, even if I think the operating system works very well (caps lock light work and little purrs and snoring occur as usual), he has no doubt about the fact that the screen is not working.
PS Sorry if my message is too long, and no, I don't have access to an external display!

While I'm at it, someone is able to explain why a battery lasting 25 minutes can take several hours or even days to recharge?

    Post edited by: trrttrry

Unfortunately I can not offer a final solution or diagnosis, but I think you should test the functionality with the original recovery image (recovery DVD) you have with your laptop.

Install the OS using this disc and test functionality. If the same thing happen over and over again there must be a hardware problem.
If you need to bring the laptop to the service ask first how much cost repair. Maybe it will be too expensive and you can buy the new laptop instead of paying lots of money to repair this old model of laptop.

  • Satellite P100-347 - problem with the judgment during the game

    I have a problem with my (pspa6e) Satellite P100-347

After about 10 minutes of play time with games like battlefield 2, the SIMS2 and so on... my pc stops...
I knew it was close because of high gpu or cpu temp...

I felt that my laptop was warm, but after playing for a while its normal...

So I installed HWmonitor to check my gpu, CPU and disk hard temp...

    That's what I show:

    THRM: 61.C - 141.F

    CPU: core0\1 - two 64.C - 147.F

    GPU: turn 85 stable - 90.C
    This normal use... no games...

    HARD DRIVE: 39.C

Something must be wrong! GPU temp is too high?
I tried a fresh install of the OS...

Thnx for all the help and answers!

Hmm these times can be a little high.

Most likely there is dust in the radiator. You can use compressed air to remove it. Or as a miracle solution, blow into the vents dust closes in contrast to air circulation.

  • Satellite P100 - 434 BSOD boot problem

    Hello everyone!

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite P100-434 and lately I encountered many problems during startup.

    1. the laptop starts normally until the entry of the password. Then, in the middle of typing BSOD.
    2. the laptop gets BSOD or turns off 2 seconds after the Microsoft bar appeared.
    3. the laptop won't turn on - after launch is only a flash of three blue LEDs on the right and the screen remains blank. No home Toshiba screen.

After a few attempts I managed to get the Toshiba welcome screen (this is after the second flash), but there are other issues later, the laptop shuts down or trying to launch startup repair. He speaks only of unspecified error and restores the previous state.
    4. I tried to enter safe mode, but several times I met the same: the laptop turns off after loading some drivers.

BSOD are too short for me to identify what is ongoing - I noticed something just BAD POOL and IRQL NOT EQUAL to something as if it was something with the drivers, no doubt the NVIDIA driver display. I uninstalled and downloaded a new and installed (version 7.15.11.5666). EMH is NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600. Once, there was some information about dxgkrnl.sys?

I did the Test of memory Windows at startup - no error.

I scanned for any viruses: my AVG removed some Cryptor virus, but the problem is still there.

The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2.

I don't know what the problem is. This is the driver of display or any other driver? Or maybe some powers of the problems? All advice welcome!

    > Anyway: I would like to know if the problem is hardware, or rather the related software, because I take my laptop to repair if there is something I could do download/resettlement.

This question can be easily answered: you must install the Windows operating system.
If the windows installation would be finished correctly and if you will not see another BSOD after installing, it emits so was related to the (software) system. But if the system is not possible or if BSOD would appear during the installation and after installation, then I suppose that something is wrong with the material of s for laptop.
