Power options in Control Panel does not open. Why?

I got a Tablet (dated) Acer PC - who has the pen touch screen gizmo. It works on XP and I'm trying to sort the power settings.

The screen is too dark, when it runs the electricity network and I want to configure the power settings. I'vetried to go in the settings of the Tablet and pen, on Control Panel, but when I clicked on the view tab of the part about the brightness of the screen is gray. I tried to enter the Power Options in the Control Panel, but when I click on that, nothing happens. Someone at - it ideas?

  • Windows Update Control Panel does not open in Windows 8

    Hello

I use Windows 8 unique language that came pre-installed with my laptop.

My problem is that the option to update windows from the Control Panel does not open. All other options like Firewall, power, administration etc tool are all very well opening. but every time I try to access windows update, it gets stuck, curious thing is that explore is not having hung or whatever it is, the Explorer appears not any message "not responding" in Task Manager either, everything else seems to work fine, except for the update of windows which is completely frozen.

I've included a snapshot of the frozen window also...

I tried to use the restore of the system for as long as possible, but it does not work. I want to update to windows 8.1, unfortunately I can't do unless I upgrade my windows 8 first. Please help me to solve the problem...

    Thanks in advance

  • Control Panel; Does not open programs and features.

Help! Programs and features in Control Panel does not open. It's as if the file is no longer there.

    Hello

I had the same problem, caused by an update of thugs. I had to do a repair installation to fix the problem. For this,.

    1. Start your Windows computer.
    2. Insert your Windows system DVD into the DVD drive.
    3. Once there either using Windows Explorer or AutoPlay navigate Windows system disc and double-click on the file called "Setup.exe".
    4. Let Windows boot phase review and collection, when that is complete, Windows continues to install Windows 7 on your existing installation of Windows 7. If there is a problem, Windows will give you the opportunity to continue or back out (I would recommend back out).
    5. Once installation is complete, you will need to then activation key, then go to Windows Update and precede to download and install all the WU you miss.

That's all. It takes more time to make that a full install as Windows must work around your installed files. But it is the method that worked for me.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Icons disappear and tools/system control panels does not open.

I have vista running on my laptop (not sure what version because I can't open anything).  Yesterday my icons disappeared and I can't open anything in the control panel or the system tools.  An update installed yesterday, but I don't know what it was.  It is relatively a new laptop.  I just bought this one when my old laptop (also Vista) did the same thing.  I tried the system restore, but I can't open that either.  I'm quite proficient with computers then give me your suggestions - advanced or not.

If you cannot use the system restore, try this disk to use system restore.

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Some features in the Control Panel does not start

Original title: some feauters on Control Panel do not open

my computer laptop OS is windows 8

When I open my control panel functions are not open

    options, troubleshooting, customization of power

Pleas give me a few tips, how can I do to fix

    Hello Kiran,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

According to the description, I understand that some features don't not throw in Control Panel. I'll be happy to help you with your query. However, let me ask you a few questions to better understand the issue and assist you accordingly.

    1. What happens when you try to start the service, as said above?
    2. You receive an error message? If Yes, what is the exact and complete error message?
    3. You did any hardware/software specific change in the computer before the show?
    4. You use any third-party antivirus installed on your computer program?

The issue may have been caused due to conflicts between third-party software. Try these steps and see if they help.

Step 1: Start in safe mode

With the parameters of Windows startup screen (formerly advanced startup options), you can start Windows in different advanced troubleshooting modes, so you can find and fix problems on your PC. In previous versions of Windows, you might get to the screen by pressing F8 before Windows starts. Windows 8 PCs starts quickly, so there is no enough time to press F8.

See the article: Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

See the link to perform the clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

N OTE: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

From now on, try the steps above and check that if these functions of launch and let us know the result so that the answers to the questions, we will be happy to help you further.

    Thank you.
