Power supply with Satellite M30x problem

When I connect my Satellite M30X in power, he sometimes shows the power light and the battery light. It can then be turned on and will start and run.
Most of the time the power light blinks and the battery light stay out: it will not illuminate.

When it turns on, it will work for a period of a minute or two till about 4 hours and stops randomly.
Now the led starts flashing and continues to Flash while it is powered.

There must be some problem with electronic control gear. Strange is that this problem occurs from time to time.
Sorry, but if you want to get rid of it you must contact Toshiba service and let check your laptop.

To be honest, it can happen that
Entire motherboard must be exchanged, and it can be quite expensive. Might be time for the new laptop computer. Satellite M30 is really old.

What do you think of all this?

    I have a W540, which currently uses a power 170W (8.5 a 20V)

    I got also a docking station for a P50 that has a power of 230W showing 20V 11. 5a.

The connectors are similar, but I'm hesitant to try the 230W power supply in the W540.

It is allowed to use the 230W power supply with the W540?

230 watts is maximum power feeding, it only provides the energy required by the computer.

I sold my W540, so I can't test it for you. But I do use the ThinkPad X 1 carbon with 230 watts without no problem power adapter.

  • I have a p6210f (Win 7), that does not illuminate. As recommended, I tried a new power supply with the same results.

In my post in November, I explained that I had tested the power supply with a multimeter and read the correct voltage. Two people to the Board of Directors always seem to think it was the power supply, so I replaced it with a new one (Corsair CX 430 R) and it still won't turn. I had suspected the power switch because when I bypass the MOBO 20 pin plug 'on', the power led lights up, fans have come on short and I heard the rotation of the disk. I also tried to troubleshoot the switch by jumpering the pins on the motherboard, but still no luck. Someone there ideas more before I replace the card MOTHER and CPU? Thanks in advance.

    Cloud_strider,

Thanks for the reply. After swapping the PSU, CPU, taking the RAM pins on jumping on the MOBO for power/LED/reset button, each separately and with the same result, I eventually swapped the MOBO to an ASRock A785GM - THE and who did! He finally put under tension. Thanks again.

  • Satellite M30X: Problems with external USB 2.0 HARD drive

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite M30X. I bought recently a 200 GB external hard drive. It has its own power supply. If I connect with USB 2.0 on my laptop, it happens to disconnect and reconnect leads him. Sometimes it works, so I can put data on the disc. Then again, he diconnects and reconnects repeatedly. I've tried a different USB Port, but there is no difference. It's very strange, because I plugged the external hard drive to many other computers (Laptop and Tower) and it STILL works! It is that with my cell phone, it disconnects and reconnects all the time. As I said, not always. Sometimes it works for a half an hour or two and then the action begins again...

    If anyone can help?
    Oxford Lutz

    Hello

I put t know if this can help, but you can try to connect a USB hub with an external power supply. Then try to connect this external HARD disk to the USB hub.
I know that it of not a exactly the solution but maybe it will help you to solve this problem of USB.

  • Power supply with Acer Aspire X 1200 problem

Hello world. I need help. I'm new to Acer Community Forum, but have a problem with my off-warranty X 1200 desktop model. It turns off and I am unable to start it. I changed outlets and also changed the power supply cord. Still nothing. The only thing I see on the Acer Support site is "check the tension on the system setting", but no explanation on how to do this. The system has a fuse that could be replaced? Someone had a similar problem? Any ideas as to what I can do to feed her top? Thank you.

    Ethel

Thanks for your comments. It turns out that I was able to 'test' the PSU using the method "trombone" (20-24 pin, placing the trombone open between the Green and of the sons of black earth) and confirmed that the most likely guilty was in fact the power supply. I bought a new one on eBay (about $53) and in 2 days it had in my hands. I followed an other UTube on how to replace the power SUPPLY and even if I there was, cleaned dust on the fan, etc., put everything together, and SUCCESS! Now everything works fine. I agree that it would have been probably not cost-effective to have Geek Squad troubleshoot and replace the power supply, but to do it myself, I would say that it was well worth! Considering that it was the first time that I NEVER opened a tour, I feel pretty good on the result. Thanks again for your response! Ethel

  • Updated power supply with h8 - 1360t (after installing HD 9750 / 3 gb)

I am the owner of a h8 - 1360t with Win 8.1, 8 GB of memory and a (new to me) Sapphire HD 9750 3 GB card video.

I "think" my system has the 460W power supply - this is due to the strange re-boots that my system has when playing video games online (I.E. Citizen star, World of Tanks, BF4 etc..)

It is not restarting all the time but it happens more often - (the only changes to the system is the video card - no problems before)

I would ask the community to the grater if there are suggestions about what to search for PSU?

According to the Tech Spec Page, I have the option of 300W 460W or 600W

Can I go higher than 600W?

What is a good diet to look for?

    I appreciate her help!

    Thank you!

    MJ

  • Chroma DC power supply RS232 communication (read problem of over-voltage and current)

    Dear all.

I chroma programmable DC power. Based on the programming of the Instrument manual I develop using RS232 communication. Based on the program I can set the voltage, current, over-current protection, protection against overvoltages and make IT / OFF out put supply perfectly.

But I have to read the measured values of the output power as current and voltage. Measured applications are the voltage and current of the output of the power supply. My problem is two of them read at the same time. Currently, the reading is only voaltge or current (if the first request is v? it is voltage read out but no reading for the current) and if the first request is CURR? the reading for the current, but not for VOLT? The status message is OK, even if it is to read values.

    Thanks in advance

What I see in your program, it's that you do not use the stop for reading character. For your writing, you do the hard with all these concantanate string functions. You can set the stop character for all entries with a node unique propert - "ASRL end Out.

  • Replacement power supply for Satellite Pro 6100

I just got the power supply of my old SP6000 (PA2450U) die on me and I wanted to know if I should replace it with the same model or another one as I used it on my SP6100. I discovered that the PA2450U give only 45W of power (now I notice!)

Info for the SP6100 page says that the power supply be 75W and I can't find the model number.

Someone can tell me if it is OK or not?

    TIA

    Hello

You always have to use the supported adapters. The use of different adapters can damage the laptop.
But I agree with Stefan. The adapter compatible and recommended is PA3083U-1ACA
This part you can also order from the service partner.

  • Need power supply for Satellite A30

Can someone tell me the part number correct for the power for the Satellite A30 laptop adapter. I bought a generic and that did not work.
I had tested machine because he kept closing and the technician said there was nothing wrong with the fan etc. so you have to order that next, I'll try, but what is the right part?

For your Satellite A30 you need AC adapter 100-240V AC 50 - 60 Hz 120W with DC output 19V with PA3290U-1ACA part number.

    Good bye

  • A non programmable power supply with LabVIEW + additional programming hardware

My company is interested in the use of LabVIEW to automate a non programmable DC power supply. The instrument in question is the U8001A device, but the idea must be the same, regardless of the manufacturer (the instrument was purchased while I was hired, or I would have opted for one with SCPI commands if that's a thing for power supplies):

    http://www.Tequipment.NET/AgilentU8001A.ASP?source=googleshopping&gclid=CMn-rPzAks0CFZM6gQodMu4McQ

We have two connectors that would be plugged into the power supply and in the 'brick' that holds some sample we want to warm up. This has worked well for our initial target, but we are now interested in time these events alongside 1-2 other instruments that we are exploited (for example a-ohmmeter for quality control), where we can control all this through LabVIEW. Say, only allowing the power reaching the sample at intervals of 5 seconds, with widths of 1-2 seconds impulse.

I'm sure I'll need a multifunction data acquisition device, and I already have my eyes fixed on the purchase of the NI USB-6501 (link below). My main question is about any additional material which is necesasry, if only a debate of ideas cenceptual on what I'm trying to accomplish. I can do everything I plan only through the acquisition of data, or are there other necessary materials, such as doors? What type of material is suitable for it? I apologize if this is the wrong sub-forum for this topic, as seems to be the subforum of material more appropriate upon publication. Thanks for your time!

    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/201630

Not even an analog command on this power supply... Range of tension and how much power do you need?  You may be able to make an operational amplifier circuit, but find out who can handle that many likely power won't be easy.

Honestly, I say just to bite the bullet and get a programmable power supply.  It will be cheaper as you try to make a personalized tour to adapt to a peg in a hole square circle.

  • How to control the TTi QL564P Power Supply with USB connection?

    Hello

When I connect the TTi QL564P power supply via the USB port I see not on MAX (peripherals and interfaces) the virtual serial connection. With GPIB, everything works great!

I already downloaded the latest drivers on the site of the IFG.

And I created a simple VI like this:

    OPEN--> VISA VISA WRITE ('V1?") --> DELAY (0.1 s)--> READING of VISA--> VISA CLOSE

(works via GPIB, does not work via USB)

VISA OPEN I have the name of resource VISA only the LPT1 and COM1 ports available... so where is the USB port (this virtual serial port, case)?

VISA GPIB resource name is the ALIAS that I set on MAX...

    Thanks for the help

OK, the solution was... on the front panel of the power supply, I replace the USB bus (I had default GPIB )

  • Power supply with updated graphics card update

I am considering buying the HPE-150 t with an improved graphics card standard:

1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5770 [2 DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter]

I went on http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator.aspx?SLanguage=en-us to the appropriate power needed for this gauge system, and it recommends a minimum 450 Watt power supply.

If I ended up buying the HPE-150 t with updated graphics card, I get a power supply improved to compensate for the increase of energy consumption?

Here are the specs of your motherboard.  It indicates a 350 Watt PSU.  However, if you scroll down to hardware options, you will see a 460 watt power supply associated with the 5770 video card.

  • Upgrade to a X 51 power supply with Eurocom Dual 330 Watt power converter

I recently saw this online converter and thought that it would be possible to use in my 51 R2... x http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/eurocom-panther-5d-notebook-review, 3685 - 3.html

made that system only if you read further stated you above. I don't think it will work as its own to this laptop model only.

By necessity, Panther of Eurocom 5 d has a more robust systems for power supply alternative available on all laptops. His pair of 330 W power supplies convergence through a connector custom to feed the LGA 2011 - flat - desk shape and the GPU W 100 that are attached. Even without overclocking, we saw regularly use exceeding 425 W with peaks of more than 460 W

  • Power XDVD intermittent satellite 4090 problems

I just purchase a Toshiba Satellite 4090XDVD and find an intermittent power on the problem.
Use adapter + battery (partly charged) the first power to the ends in 2 seconds - no Toshiba logo/message on screen, no disk activity after his initial whining for 1-2 seconds. Power on and then turn on again everything happens normally.

System looks good - no boot errors or messages and the date and time are not correct - so no indication of a problem of cmos.
Sometimes I have to market twice as much power. After the system powers on normally, it will continue to do so-if I leave for a few hours or a day, the problem reoccur. Using the AC adapter and remove the battery, ignition problem is worse - a 4-5 power downs / restarts before it starts.
When the problem occurs, the LCD screen is blank - no logo Toshiba etc and I heard 1-2 seconds of activity - shrill drive etc - then nothing.

The AC and LED right next to her are on.
No other LEDS are on (unless the battery installed and get orange solid leads) sometimes turn off refuses and I hear 1 long beep followed by 29 short beeps.
Yet, once it powers up that will continue to power upward normally until I have let rest for a while.

My documentation shows two batteries on a board inside - cmos and RTC I believe - but I hesitate to dismantle the pc and replace because I see not all the symptoms that they are the problem (no error cmos, no problem of time).

I know that its an old PC, but I just use it as a second computer for small jobs and it is awesome. Anyone had a similar experience or ideas? Your comments will be appreciated!

    Hello

In my view humble and honest, this looks like a motherboard problem.
I think that no one would be able to tell what part on the motherboard could be affected, but what you could do is check RAM.

In many cases the failure of RAM can cause issues too
Check the RAM may be worth a try

So as you can see, a lot of suggestions, but that's all

  • Recovery with Satellite L300 problem

I have a problem trying to restore my laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 to factory settings back!

OK so basically, my laptop Toshiba Satellite screwed up and I even turn the thing!
After a while, I was able to 'Restore factory settings' and then after typing my name and my Pc name etc., and after the latter had analyzed what it scans, it says "step 2: finish Prcoess Installation may take several minutes.» Do not interrupt or stop ' or or whatever it says...

Anyway, I don't know, but it seems to be stuck on this screen! I left it for like 30/40 minutes and it always did, so I turned it off by the button. Now when I turn it on, I can't do anything until there finishes this installation, but when I try to leave it, it doesn't do anything!

    Help, please!

    Additional details
I don't have a recovery disc! I restore or retrieve or another of the original on the HARD drive when you press F8 at startup to the top

    Any help appreciated

    Thank you, Andy

    Hello Andy

Unfortunately there is not some sort of magic bullet. A recovery facility works or not and there is no way to make it work somehow.

What you can do is to start the installation of recovery even once, if possible. Please do so and send feedback.

To be honest I don t understand why you didn't create Toshiba Recovery DVD s advice. If something goes wrong with the HARD drive or HARD drive recovery image can not be used you will be able to use recovery DVD for installing the OS.
