A few days ago, I was trying to low loading part of the steam.  My download speed is 30 kbs, obviously not good.

I did some basic checks, malware, viruses, etc., but did not find any problem.  I did a diagnostic check and got a BIOHD-8 error code, which indicates a hard drive problem.  I decided to try to reset the computer back to the factory setting before changing the hard drive and once that I made and updated windows Vista for several hours, I restarted the diagnosis and he came clean.  Then I updated my software, including steam and a few games.  Downloads were fast and had no problems.  Later that night the computer started to shut down randomly, and I was unable to run any games.  Thinking it's maybe a power supply problem, I have replaced my graphics card with an elder who needs less energy.  I am able to run without any problems so far.  So, I'm looking for help in identifying my problem.  HDD problem, power supply, something else?  Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hard to say without proper trials.

You can use a hardware monitor HW Monitor to monitor tensions it is: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
But there is no software that can test a power supply.

You can get a tester of hardware like this too: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16899887005

But there is really no of it will predict fails if the power supply, if you overloaded it, if its duration in time high, or if the power supply is a device of poor quality that can be subject to failure.

You can also check that your power cable is comfortably installed on the computer and not frayed.  Try a different wall jack where there are fluctuations in power.

  • Power Supply problem when installing Windows 7

So I'll keep this short and to the point. I was upgraded yesterday from Vista to 7. Has made all the necessary updates and restart before installing 7. While it was installing, I weppe out of the room, came back and my monitor was empty... Silly me, I thought it was a reboot during installation. Futher glance, the monitor is in standby mode and the PC itself has been disabled. I waited about 10 minutes and it was always off. So I hit the power button, and it will not turn back. Tried the flipping of switches, different cables. Even called tech support, to get your warranty has expired and its $ 99 for me you tell the problem... Then he became the Lady on the line, telling me something I already knew... I got a power supply problem and I had to mapy 340.00 to repair... My question is this... It was just the stars lining up properly and my diet is to bite the dust while I have been upgraded or is there more behind it?

  • 3525 Deskjet printer power supply problem

Brand new printer, I have been connected, printed OK. Once off, lights not again unless you pull on the power cord plug, then plug it in yet. Then can be turned on. But once off so the same problem all over again. I tried different plugs/Sockets, same problem with them all. Same thing happens when the printer is connected to the electric network without being connected to a laptop Desk/computer. Is this a power supply problem? Is it not ridiculous to do out of the box?

    Thanks for any help,

    Hi Nicolas,.

The latest firmware should solve the problem you are experiencing.

Download and install the update of the firmware for your operating system below:

  • With Tecra750DVD power supply problem

My laptop recently decided to refuse to turn on when I turned on. There is a yellow light in the position of "power" over the front of the machine, but it won't start. I tried all the options: Power Supply Unit only, only battery, Power Supply Unit + battery and nothing works. Fuse is good in the plug of power supply. Battery is less than 12 months.

    Hello

You can remove the battery completely when problemshooting this kind of predicament.

First of all - what impression the power button? Does it feel as it should? Refers to how it used to feel? If this is not the case, check if there is an active "lock" behind it.

Some models have a safety lock to keep the machine from accidentally start in a bag or two.
Please look at the LED that indicates that your adapter is connected. When you try to switch the machine on, what is happening with this LED? Always the same fixed green light or suddenly out or flashing?
If out, please try to get your hands on another adapter (borrow prefferably). If it flashes then try to remove the AC adapter, remove any option that can be easily removed, CD/DVD, memory, expansion card PC and so on.
Try to restart it (remember to join HQ again). Even? If Yes, then sorry to say I think that your machine needs service. If this isn't the case, then there could be hope.

Disconnect the AC and put back in place the units that you have deleted before, one by one and after each unit, try to restart the machine.
If it starts fine, remove the unit and reconnect the next unit. Perhaps you will find that there is a problem with an external device (memory, CD, PC Card and so on), then at least you can continue working more or less as before the problem.

    Good luck

  • On Satellite P100 power supply problem

    Hai
I bought the new laptop Satellite P100. Suddenly it does not start (no power to notebook) and the same time, I have only checked by the only power a/c no result, also do not charge the battery. I put t know what is the reason. Can someone give suggestion?
    Thank you bye.

If the power light is blinking there is probably a problem with the electronic power supply. In this case, the laptop sends flashes code. Read this code, technicians can identify the problem.
Please, don't waste your time but the closest service provider contact allowed in your country.
After 18 months of that guarantee must be valid (it depends of course on where you live) as well as the repair must be free.

  • LED power button problem FIXED on Satellite P300

    Toshiba
    LED power button fix

    Toshiba
    Satellite P300-h-13

    By Thom
    Wijtenburg

First of all, I would like to
say you that I came up with this correction, after a clean reinstall of the
Vista. (I used the serial number of windows on the bottom of my laptop for)
install, so it's the same license as the OEM of windows and therefore
Tout_a_fait legal.) After the clean install and installation of all the
the drivers listed on the site of toshiba LED power button (also
known as the mute button) and the CDDVD butten (mediaplayer button)
stopped working. After browsing around forums toshiba I found
this case, I removed the support button utility that the mute button has acted as
a mute button. Also the mediaplayer button worked fine. Reinstalled
the utility support for the button and they have stopped working. After many
toshiba calls (I think about 5-6 in one day) they opened a
support ticket for me, because they (team support callcenter)
could not find a solution. Following their advice, I did the
next to try to make it work:

    * Don't have a system restore with the restore DVD.
    * Do you have an another clean install.
    * Install the drivers in various ways (alphabetically reversed by alphabetical order and order of collection DVD).
    * update my BIOS.
    * downloaded a 'new' version of value added package (which was the same thing I already had).
    * installed the VAP with and without technical support button utility, no changes.
    After doing everything
This, they said that they did not know the cause of my problem (at the beginning
they thought it was hardware related). They came with a possible
    anwer:

    "It is."
possible that we removed some features of windows vista
operating system so that our one utility for device drivers
work. In addition, we do support the configuration, that we delivered
When you bought the laptop. »

    Now of course, I have
understand that. I waited allmost a week, no response. Neither
by electronic mail, or by phone, so I decided to google more
    on the problem.

    After a certain
some research on Toshiba forum and Googling I came across
a thread that sayd I must first install the utility 'control '.
and the button press. Unfortunately what it did not work.

    Then, all of a sudden
Windows displays a message saying that I should install the TOSHIBA.
"ACPI-based value-added general use and logical device driver.
I clicked on the provided download link, and the VFR package was a newer version
version of the support page for my laptop which is held. So I downloaded
This PPV version 1.17 and installed it. After a reboot, the buttons
still did not work. But at least I got the file HWSetup.exe, where I
could turn the LED off. Look into the button holder utility, I have
saw that there where buttons like "Toshiba Assist" which my
    the laptop model is not.

    Navigation
through the toshiba forum I found a file named ButtonSettings.ini, in
which I can manually configure special keys. After a google
search on the name of the file, I found that all the buttons list
in a registry key. I saw the "Dimmer" file using the button
folder and clicked on it. Poof... lights went out. Click again,
Poof... lights turn it back on. So I replaced the wrong button definitions
with CDDVD and dimmer values. Saved my changes but is not a restart.
Opens the support button utility and change the path of
MediaPlayer (who was always there to a previous definition) to
Dimmer.exe. checked to see if the button CDDVD pointed
MediaPlayer and restarted. When everything has been started, I pushed on the
button again and presto... MUTE lights off. Pushed again, poof...
lights. Pressed the mediaplayer button and started to mediaplyer. I have
has been very happy when everything worked.
    Now that you
know the story, here's the fix.

    * Difficulty: *.
    * Download and install the new VAP from here: [http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/util_tvap_26084A.exe]
    * Choose Edit in the installation and make sure that everything is checked
    * do NOT restart after the installation.
    * Download the ini fix and the fixed registry
    * Uncompress its contents into your working folder.
    * Copy the ini into C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TBS (where C: is the drive of program files)
    * In this same folder, start the exe called TBSbtnSt.exe
    * do NOT restart, click on 'no' in the dialog box.
    * Double click on the registry key, and then click 'Yes' to add to the registry
    * Then open the button support utility by clicking Start-> Toshiba-> utilities-> Toshiba assist. Help go to optimilization and click support button tohiba
    * If the path or the description is disabled, fix, and then click Save. See also if the CD/DVD mediaplayer points.
    * Restart you computer now.
    * If everything is is well past your special buttons should work.

    * WARNING: *.

    It worked for
me, with my Toshiba Satellite P300-h-13, edition windows Home premium 32-bit.
It should work on any model of 6 buttons with the mediaplayer and the mute
buttons. I am in no way responsible for any damage that may arise
If the fix does not work correctly. There is absolutely no. GARUENTEE
It will work for you. If the answer is Yes, he does, and if it's not it
    doesn't work.

  • Equium P300-190 power - free problem

    Hi all

This is my first post here/first Toshiba number after owning my laptop for about 4 years!

I have a big problem with my Equium p300-190, with a Li-ion battery.

This morning, there seems to be a problem with my diet. The connection of the charger would change quickly load and then do not load per second or more.

This continued all day until the computer turns off suddenly.
Now even when the charger is connected, the lights on the front of the computer not able to save it as a laptop.

Initially, I thought it was a charger problem, but the computer turns off when the power of 43%. I was wondering if someone can help me to determine if it is a battery problem or a problem of motherboard, as well as the suggested courses of action.

    Any help is really appreciated!

    > Now even when the charger is connected, the lights on the front of the computer not able to save it to the loading of the laptop.

This means that the power LED and AC adapter LED don t light even if the AC adapter is plugged?

In this case the new, good working AC adapter must be connected to verify if she s AC adapter or mobile phone related problem.

Just FYI: I n t think that the problem is battery since the laptop should work fine with the AC adapter only. Even if the battery is removed and AC adapter connected, the laptop must turn on

So either the AC adapter or portable s hardware problem.

  • Partner Toshiba Stor.e 2.5 "power USB3 problems

I had the partner Toshiba Stor.e 2.5 "external hard drive USB3 for about 5 months and couldn't be happier... until tonight.

I have it plugged into my laptop Satellite Pro and nothing happened. It seems that the fault is where the cable connects to the device. If I pull the cable up the light blue lights and voltage of my hard drive, when I let go the power ceases.

It seems that the connection of the device is quite fragile and I can move it up and down easily.
I took care of the product and have not been subjected to undue constraints so I'm not very happy.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem?
Is this a design flaw or a single random problem?

    Can it be fixed?

    Thank you very much
    Mallrat 999

    Hello

You you connected this external USB HDD two USB ports on your laptop?
I think that you must use a USB cable to Y that allows to connect the HARD drive to two USB ports, because this HARD drive needs 900mA.

The common standard USB 2.0 port (I guess that your laptop supports only USB 2.0) provides 500mA and usually is not enough for the USB 3.0 HARD drive.

Another solution could be the use of the USB hub using an external power supply.

  • Satellite A30 - power AC problem

    Hello.

My computer has a strange random problem related to AC power. It stops randomly. Here is the description (sorry my bad English):

    * Power supply only: (battery not installed) it stops randomly.*

This isn't a problem of overheating because I have everything clean every 2 weeks. Average temperature of CPU is 45note? Aºcelsius.
What happends problem with my 2 original adaptors.
In the CC is fine. No pins bgas and pass the AC adapter cable is not stop it.
Cables AC adapters are in perfect condition.
It just keeps shut down. Sometimes I turn the computer and after 30seg its stops around the... other down time 5 minutes... other times 5: 00...
It happends no matter the cpu load... 0% or 100%...
I'm not even touch the computer!

    * AC POWER AND BATTERY: * start the computer the battery.
Suddenly the recharge battery led turns off and he starts to perform.
Poster source ca but Toshiba power management software it "AC online - DISCHARGE BATTERY"
Its the same as if I remove the ac power cable but the ac adapter is always recognized.
Once I turn off the computer, battery starts to charge again. Battery led as active.

IM thinking on protected by some kind of regulator of tension or something related.

Any ideas? I already open and look for damaged components but everything seems in good condition.

Anyone with a similar problem which was resolved by the support from toshiba? What was the problem?

    Best regards

    Hello

I think that no one here will be able to tell what's exactly wrong with your laptop.
All makes really strange sounds and I think that it s related to the power supply electronic malfunction, which is part of the motherboard.
That's my personal opinion and in this case, the motherboard needs to be replaced

Of course, you can contact the ASP technician to check the laptop. The guy couldn't say exactly what part is malfunctioning and if the motherboard is affected
As you know the new motherboard is expensive about 300Euros
So you should really consider if a laptop second hand would be a better choice

  • Satellite A100-496 power plug problem

Hi, my first post and this is probably a common problem.

I got an A100-496 for about two years and it has been fine. Nothing special, just right.

Although the pin power plug to the back of the machine became loose and therefore constantly moving the battery and possibly perform.

I found any number of sockets of replacement for other models, but this seems rare.
    Can someone advise
one) where I could get one at a reasonable price
    (b) if there are other models that use exactly this Jack
    (c) how it could be difficult to replace or
    (d) the question of whether I should just go out and buy a new machine (certainly not a Toshiba)?

I would be very grateful for any advice and thank you in advance.

    Hello

I think that the replacement of DC Jack is really complicated because it s placed on the motherboard and you will need to disassemble the whole laptop to gain access to decision-making.
The disassembly procedure is not easy, that you know the right order and how to remove devices
There is therefore a high risk of damage to laptop

Anyway, you want to know what is compatible.
Well, I recommend contacting the ASP in your country for details and the right part, the technicians should be abele to order this part at Toshiba.

    See you soon

  • Satellite M70-148 - power on problem after hibernation

    Hello:
Sometimes, I have a problem I can not turn on after hibernation. The fan starts, but the computer does not start again. I can only turn off again by pressing the button for a few seconds. When I remove my power cord and press the power button, I am able to start up. I can solve this?

I've been on the internet looking for a solution and found this description of the problem, which is exactly what I have, but unfortunately there is no solution.

    "
I'll explain the problem in detail, right after hibernation or standby IF you press power button / stop it goes blue led fan starts, HD led lights, led battery, power adapter led (if its connected) and a cd player make it sound as if he looking for a CD, and THEN stopped fan HD led turns off, no sound from CD, leaves u with button only works / stop led on, a pretty frustrating blue

After waiting, u eventually gave up, turn it off by prolonged pressure on the button / stop and then no matter wut u do, simply starts only even the sounds and the leds as mentioned above, nothing on the screen as if its dead! No logo, no nothing.

Give him a time (about 15 min with battery connected, or 5 minutes or less with the battery) press the button, IT U - GO, works perfectly!

same case with the judgment but not always as put into hibernation and sleep (but once made wake-up from standby mode!), but most of the time after the judgment, you have to wait 15 min!

No memory connected USB flash or something else!

I have installed winXP pro SP2 above and installed the drivers and the Microsoft HOT fixes too, but the problem remains.

I also made recovery from the CD of restoration which follows, also not good!

I noticed that if you disconnected the battery the appliance needs less time to wake or boot. about 5 min.

what kills me, is that the device works perfectly and I love it! I've had this problem with her!

So what I need to know is the following: is there anyway to weather course if it's a hardware or software problem?

its not easy to go to service local cuz its in another city! I need to try first what it takes to fix it on my own!
    "

    Thank you for your time!

Well, there's not much to do. You have some many possibilities. Check your installed BIOS version and compare it with the version on the Toshiba site.
If there is a newer version so you can try to update the BIOS. But please be careful.

    Hello

I guess that the "0100101010" - code must be some kind of error code, but I'm not sure. But even if that's who you wouldn get information on this subject given that these technical information are kept for toshiba technicians, I guess. :)

So, in this case, you can not do anything and just ask some laptop technician/service station for a checkup of material or a repair.

    Sorry mate, but that's all.

  • Satellite 1410 - power on problem

    Hallo,
I have some problems with my Satellite 1410 303.
After the stop, without disconnecting the power supply, if I try to put the laptop by pressing the button start the laptop does not start and the orange green power led indicator lights up, indicating a power problem.
This problem appears after updating bios and Windos XP Service Pack 2.
    Can someone help me, please?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea

The first thing you can try is to remove the battery for a short period and try to start Notepad without power supply.
It will also be interesting to know if the laptop turns on without battery with power running. There is the problem after that, is it possible that power supply microcontroller don t work properly.

If the orange flashing is not constant it may flash code.

  • Equium A60 - 155 Power Supply Problem

    Hey guys,.

I've had my laptop for several years now, but it was replaced a few times is not so old.
I have problems with my battery to charge, I thought it was the power adapter that was the problem until I bought a new one and it would not load.

When I used to plug in the charger it works if the lead was bent at an angle, now it won't work at all... So I think that there is a problem... as with the port it charges through internally.
If anyone has any help with how to fix this or how it will be cost to fix the help would be appreciated so much!

In addition, my warranty has run out so this is a no go.
    Thank you, Rebecca.

    Hello Rebecca

Sorry, but I think that there is nothing that you can do it alone. The laptop needs to be tested with special tools and this should be done by technicians.
To write something on the price isn't easy because I think that the prices are not the same for each authorized, service provider

I don't know where you live, but I recommend you check out http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ > support & downloads > find an ASP. You will find the addresses and phone numbers. Connect with some of them in your country and ask for prices.

    Good luck!
