OK, so I recently had problems with my hard drive on my laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 and he brought the manufacturer to be replaced. Before the problems, Sims 2 would work with ease, but now after the hard drive has been replaced it will not. It installs perfectly but when it comes to play, it says put disc 1 when disk 1 is already there. The new disk drive has no problem with any other dvd, cd or software except for this. I tried to reinstall it and unistalling repeatedly to nothing does not

I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition premium for my office, and all of a sudden she refuses to see my game or DVD discs when I put them in the drive. He will see my DVD - RW discs, but nothing else. The games I ran before with no problem at all, and drives that I'm trying will play fine on my Windows XP laptop, so I'm not sure what has changed to make it act like this.

It looked like from this, after that I burned a disc of pictures of family once, but I'm not positive.

  • DVD drive sees no disc in the drive

A month or two ago, I bought 2 games.  1 has played without problems. The second drive, my drive does not even recognize.  It is said that there is no disc in the drive. I exchanged the drive for another, same thing. I contacted Ubisoft (Distributor), firstly we me it doesn't work on DVD players. When I informed them that's what I use, they gave me this long list of things to try. I have the drivers updated, cleared out the files, defragmented and disabled while selective startup... The only thing I didn't try was their suggestion to copy the disc to a new folder on my desktop and install from there. It is quite difficult to copy the contents of the disc in my computer when my computer says there is no disc (duh!).

I finally tried on another computer, and it has started right up.

Ubisoft then asked me to send them a copy of my file DirectX. When I did, they returned with "Unfortunately, this game only is not supported for use with the readers of dvd - rw or cd - rw due to the copy protection that is on the disk."  Which made no sense to me at all.  But I tried on another computer with a DVD - RW and it started right at the top.

I don't understand. If it's a compatibility problem or a problem of resources, or a conflict problem, something like that, the result is usually an error message. Or sometimes nothing happens at all, but the computer still recognizes at least one drive in the drive. And if not, usually, it's because of a defective disc. I know that the drive is OK, so that this would cause? As mentioned earlier, I bought another game at the same time, and it has been recognized, loaded and played without a single problem.

Suggestions? Ideas? Thoughts? Help! I would really like to play this game.  And besides, you cannot return an open game...

Try to go to one of those other computers and copy the disk to a flash drive and install it from that.

Does not solve your problem, but at least you can play the game.

    Hope that helps.

  • I installed a new driver for CD/DVD; TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS - L - 462 was of... CD/DVD Driver.but it does not read empty CD or DVD. It is said that there is no disc in the drive.

After I install TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS - L - 462 A ATA device of... CD/DVD drive, I played a cd & he played the cd. After I tried to back up my laptop, I was told to "put a DVD selected", so I did it, but it does not reconise dvd I set, so I put in a blank dvd, & press "use a dvd blank." but he did not read.  It keep saying "install an accessible dvd writable", or "there is no cd or dvd in the drive," what is happening please help.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    Hey,.

Do you have already disconnected the power for at least 5 minutes DVD recorder? If not try this and disconnect power. Then try again to remove the DVD.

In the worst cases, the drive is defective and must be repaired service authorized in your country.
