  My new system cam with Windows pre-installed 10. There was therefore no installation disc with the package. I have no backup of the OS. So if anyhing happens on my drive hard while the system is under warranty, they only replace the hard drive or they will install the windows 10 new OS for me? Also there is no product key came with my system. It's that something provided with electronic key digital which I'm not sure. But the Windows is activated. So, if I upgrade RAM, anything happens to my Windows Activation?

  If you install own OS but also to install stuff all listed from the Toshiba download page you will have an almost identical situation, so in my opinion, there is no reason why you should not use the original OS that you got with your laptop.

  Original preinstalled recovery image (OS) is designed for your model of notbook and certainly, it will work perfectly. What you need is the optimization of the OS. Optimizing your laptop preinstalled OS will go much quicker, and you will be happy with it.

  I use Toshiba laptops more than 10 years and each time when I have a new one in front of me, I optimize BONE and use it without any problem.
  For example, I have my Satellite P500 nearly 1.5 years. It is even pre-installed with original Win7 64 bit and there is no problem at all. So far I didn't noticed a single problem as bluescreen or freeze.

  Do you know what I mean with the optimization of the OS?

  Although these tools are installed, this does not mean that they would be running in the background and lose some of the RAM.
  I wouldn't recommend uninstall these tools but to turn it off auto-start.

  You can do it in msconfig.

  Run msconfig and go to the Startup tab.
  There you can uncheck just tools that you n t need initially.
  Save the changes and restart the device.
  If you need one of the tools again in the Startup tab, then you could do it

  Notes; Disabling in msconfig process does not mean that you couldn't manually start these tools
  Disable tools (process) in msconfig means ONLY that these tools would not launch automatically when windows starts.

• Pre-installed Windows XP: I have a question...

  My old Acer Aspire 5050 has got a new lease on life in the form of 4 GB of RAM to replace its original 1 GB. But the old installation of Windows XP Media Center 2005 delivered pre-installed still slackened things upward. Just too guck accumulated over the years, so to speak.

  I seriously think to blow all upward - wiping the drive hard and giving a new installation of Windows. I have the CD (Windows XP Media Center 2005) and I have the license key Windows based on my laptop. I already have:

  I am also facing the same problem. I have a HP 550 laptop and it came with FREE pre-installed DOS. Its an INTEL Core 2 Duo with IGB RAM, 160 GB HD drive and also bought the machine 3 days back. I was tring to install WinXP on this Machine. But he won't go after the point where it says "STARTING WINDOWS" or something. At this point, it gives the blue screen and an error.

  No matter what reliable help would be appreciated and would be grateful if it is developed as I am a newbie.

  The HP 550 is a portable class business and should have two options for installing XP.

  1. enter in the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup. If you have the option of Bios Setup to disable the native sata mode, XP will install without problem, no sata driver needed. It will be on the tab of the System Configuration.

  2. If you do not have the setting in the Bios, it's the driver sata for your machine:

  Download and run, create a disk OR cancel disk creation. The files will be extracted to C:\Swsetup\sp37005 to use with Nlite.

  You can use Nlite to integrate the drivers in a new XP installation cd. NLite will still burn the new cd of XP.
