  • Compaq presario sr5518f upgrade processors

    First of all, I apologize if I do not write in the correct section.  A little new here.

    in any case, I'm going to completely overhaul my Compaq Presario SR5518F.  I'll get a new graphic/video card, power supply, and processor.

    Speaking of the processor, I have a question for someone who would know the upgrade of processors.

    The specs of my PC (which can be accessed HERE) said I can move to an Intel Core 2 Duo E7xxx.  I'm looking at upgrading to an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 processor which has close to 3.0 Ghz (2.8 to be precise) of the operating speed.

    The question I have, is the Intel Core 2 Duo processor E7400 compatiable for my Compaq Presario computer motherboard?  I have never replaced or upgraded forever, and so I want to make sure I'm making the right decisions when buying upgrades.

    I would appreciate your help or you guys could give me advice.   Thank you and have a nice!

    Hello

    As you can see from the following link:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01386897

    It supports Core 2 Duo E7xxx (Wolfdale-M) CPU means that it will support CPU E7400 but you must update the BIOS to make sure.

    Kind regards.

    I am an amateur photographer and I would like to use this PC to make a photo (using Photoshop and other similar applications) editing and also would like (if possible) to connect to my HDTV plasma (only has HDMI and DVI input) may use as a second monitor or simply to watch videos. As far as space is concerned, I have a 500 GB external hard drive, which I connected to the PC via the USB port.

    My question is: what type of card (on a somewhat tight budget) will I need to do? And if any other update I'll need for this purpose?

  • Need to downgrade! ???

    I bought a used laptop Compac Presario computer which has Windows Vista Business 32 Bit on what I can't authenticate. He came originally from the manufacturer with Windows visit 32-bit Basic. How to the screen that has the recovery options back to the default factory settings without going through an installation or recovery disk?

    Hello

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    You'll not be used from Vista Business recovery partition has been installed.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?CC=au&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=c00814731#N104

    The normal method to start the process of recovery with a HP Compaq is to press F11 at startup and follow the instructions.

    Read HP link above.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • System registry fileis missing or damaged - error 0xc00000e9

    I have a Compaq Presario computer that runs Windows Vista Basic 32 bit. Two days ago I got the message, unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your installation disc and restart your computer. 2. choose your language settings, and then click Next. 3. click on repair your computer.

    File: \windows\system32\config\system status: 0xc00000e9 Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt.

    On this screen, press 'ENTER' to continue, which allows me to hit the press "F8" for advanced options. I press any button, it takes back me to the original screen. It does not give me the option "repair your computer", either.

    I have the built-in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 disc and I load it, and then restart the computer, but the same screen appears. Help someone?

    Original title: fileis registry System missing or damaged

    Mike, I don't see any of the screens have shown in the tutorial... just a black screen that continues to take back me to this God awful message, Windows could start... is the disk Windows SP1 integrated the correct disk, I need to repair or reinstall Windows?

    If this is a good DVD of Vista, not a HP, Dell, recovery disk etc. you should be able to repair or to reinstall Vista with it.

    A factory recovery disc does not normally gives you the choice of remedy; It is a straight line to reinstall.

    If you are starting to leave her properly and still get the message, you have a hardware problem.

    Here's how Boot from the DVD drive:

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Make sure that everything is done correctly first.

    Here is the full and correct way to use the ERD to Startuip:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And here's how to do the clean install:
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    My wireless router has failed and I got a new. My office (Presario SR5610F, Vista Home) crashes whenever I try to connect to the wireless network. (This happened at least two different routers, then the problem must lie in the computer and not the router).
    This is the screen I get when the accident occurred:
    Then I tells me that I can reset the computer to an earlier time. I do, and then I get this screen:
    Well, the problem was the Linksys USB Network Adapter (the "receiver" for the wireless signal).  I replaced it with a similar Belkin adapter and now everything is fine.
  • Presario 2195US original audio driver freeze all the computer in Win7
    Hello friends!
    I'm new to the forum, and I am here because everything could not solve my problem.
    My Compaq Presario 2195US has an upgrade of RAM 1 GB in total and I installed Win7 on it. In the adaptation of the drivers, everything goes very well with compatibility adjustments and new downloads of drivers for my hardware, but there is no video and audio drivers for win7 - now I'll explain the audio problem:
    I installed the audio driver in XP compatibility mode and the driver installed fine (without adjustment of the installation program compatibility is not identify the sound card) and the manual installation of the driver by pointing devices Manager worked too. When everything seems fine, when some audio is played, during playback of audio, sooner or later the computer freezes absolutely and repeat the short sound of the moment of freezing indefinitely. The sound becomes something like tun-tun-tun-tun-tun-tun-tun-tun-tun with the screen freezes and only a reboot is possible - the mouse does not move and ctrl-alt-del is the same anything.
    I use the computer with his disabled card, but I need to get to work. The problem seems to be something small, but I have no knowledge to edit my audio driver to resolve the issue. In some of these blocks, I saw that when I'm on the windows media player window and clicked on a folder in a window behind it, the computer freezes, but it was just an observation. Gels are independent of the application that I use. The use of the sound card on sort may freeze the computer. I need help hard here and we hope that someone trying to solve. Thank you in advance.
    Hi - Caio-,
    Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your Compaq Presario 2195US Notebook and having Audio problems with Windows 7 drivers. I would go to the Device Manager and do a right click on the audio adapter (if more 1 present I delete them all and restart the computer) in your devices and update the driver manager. Restart the computer and see this help. Here is a downloadthat I found for the audio driver, it is a third party site.
    Hope it will be useful.
    Thank you.
    Try a hard reset first as follows:
    Remove the battery and unplug the DC power Jack
    Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    replace the DC power cord (leave the battery for now), and then press the power button
    If you now see Windows on your LCD, then fine.
  • computer Compaq Presario SR1950NX is compatible with the Radeon 9250 128 MB DDR (64-bit) video card
    I was just curious to know if I could install this 'Radeon 9250 128 MB DDR (64-bit) video card"who collects dust for a long time in my old computer Compaq Presario SR1950NX I bought in 2006.
    I know that the video card is still older than the computer, but it was almost 200$ 7 years and it would be nice to see it put to use again. I heard that the motherboard on this computer is not terrible, and there may be not enough power to run this video card.
    I am running windows XP if it means something.
    Thank you.
    Yes. Your PC does not have an AGP slot. No place to put it.
    mother of laptop Compaq presario CQ71
    I have a question an abot in Selangor, this motherboard.
    the graphics chip is separate or integrated.
    My cq71 crashed and stopped working continuous overheating by weak graphics.
    so ive decided to spend the whole motherboard.
    but I need to know to or if I could spend graphics.
    I have already upgraded to the ram for the future graphics card integrated.
    also additional guides on how to pass map main would be apprteciated.
    No RAM, but you would like to install a better processor, too. Look at the manual for CPU options. They will be pretty inexpensive at this stage. You should also another radiator/heater unit to work with the different video chip. But it adapts to your chassis. The only way to look at this case if you do your own work. Otherwise, the cost will approach the price of a new laptop computer. Even do your own work that you will probably have to spend more than $150.
