  Unfortunately, I don't have any specific instructions to clear the password BIOS on your model, but on this forum I have read posts from some HP employees who volunteer their time here and they provided this general direction.

  Use your password to access the BIOS to unlock

  Go to the Security menu

  Disable all passwords that are enabled

  If the demand for current password - type your unlock code.

  New password, simply press the ENTER key
  Repeat the same thing to check the password column.

  Then exit the BIOS saving & output option to save the changes.

  If this does not work, I recommend that to start a new post asking for instructions on how to reset the BIOS password.

  Indicate that you have the unlock code to get into the BIOS, you want the instructions to remove the BIOS password so that you do not need to enter the unlock code, every time you turn on the PC.

  can someone help me please... I have no drives for this laptop.  I have no idea how solve this thing, it was working fine before bed and now it isn't. I managed to control a number of things by reading this forum. I got a code that says "unmountable boot volume" I did a hard reboot as it said and that did nothing. I tried repairing the system when she appeared, did nothing. I tried to do safe mode, but I can't tell if it of in there or not. After loads of windows logo I get a blue corrugated (a bit like a curtian blowing in the Breeze) of the screen and the mouse shows but nothing else, start no button, no icon of shortcut... nothing. I've had a few years but it has barely been used and when it is used its especially for printing photos from my camera. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!

  The error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with startup error.

  If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

  Assuming you are using Windows 7, try the following.

  If you do not, use another PC to create a Windows 7 recovery CD.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below - if you are unsure, your laptop is listed as having a 64-bit installation...

  Windows 7 32 bit

  Windows 7 64 bit

  You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

  Demarrer start from the rescue CD, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

  Bootrec.exe

  bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

  c:

  Boot CD

  BCD attrib s h - r

  Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

  Bootrec /RebuildBcd

  Bootrec /fixmbr

  Bootrec /fixboot

  Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

  3. Insert the product number or model number

  4. choose your current operating system

  5 scroll down to "order recovery Media.

  Because you have Windows 8 disk must be there unless the computer is so new that they were not placed on the site yet.
