  I had installed up-to-date antivirus software and my problem seems to start after an update from Microsoft. Do a search on the web and you will see similar stories. I spent so much time trying to solve this I think it's better just to do a re-install.   Only, I have solved this problem.  I spent two days dealing with less competent people in India of Intuit.  After giving up on them and waiting for a phone call that never came, I continued to read and began to isolate in my system to a bad installation of .net framework 2.  After several attempts to uninstall and reinstall .net framework, I was finally successful.  I need help to do that, and I used this link (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/03/07/8108332.aspx?PageIndex=3).   He took me to always to this figure, but I wasn't aware of the .net framework problem until Quicken 2010 wouldn't launch.  All is well now, just finished all my accounts balance.

  I think that norton or mcafee may have been preinstalled as trial versions, but I've never actually used them. Unfortunately I can't use the windows Explorer, so I can't check if they are still there.

  We will cover all the possibilities.

  1. download each of the tools for deletion below, save it to your desktop:

  I checked the reported compatibility list, and the game is listed as compatible.  Work in 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7?  I will try to reinstall the game, if you did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 recently.  If it is a new installation and does not, please visit the EA's Web site to get the latest patch for the game to see if that helps address your problem.  Let me know if you've done all that and you still have questions, and we can try something else.
