• Wrong time file Express with NI9361 medium Freq dynamics of the signal

  I have an interesting problem with recoding of the frequency to a file with SignalExpress measures and a NI9361. I was able to find a workaround, but here's the question:

  As in the attached SignalExpress project, I'm analog acquisition of voltage using a NI9234. In this case, the module is in place only for the/cDAQsim/I/SampleClock channel exist for my next step to reference. I'm also acquisition of previous frequency with the NI9361 in dynamic mode with an average using the reference to external clock of the analog input stage. Then I have a backup at the ASCII stage where I want to write a file leave ASCII, comma with absolute time.

  That's the problem. In this case, I cared only to save the frequency to the file. But, when I did the absolute time would count per second for 100 points, then loop back at once and County place again. (See attached Test01.csv.) This is the same behavior that if I tried to record data using just the NI9361 without an external sample clock.

  If instead, the save operation I take FIRST entry then the frequency I will get a file with the correct absolute time as Test02.csv analog, attached. Even if I save the frequency as the first entry and then return to tension the problem at the time scale.

  Anyone know why that would happen? Is there a simpler way for the frequency measures stamped recored with the NI9361 and SignalExpress without analog data recording? without using an analog input module at all?

  We seek to use the Signal Express to collect data of analog sensors and load cells. We would like the user to be able to enter a variable that the program Express of Signal can act on. Is it possible within Signal Express?

  When you select 'Change destination', it will fill with all stage settings that are supported for the given control used.  Not all the steps or step settings are able to be adjusted when the operator mode.  That is why you were only able to bind controls to step DAQmx Acquire and filter (they are only available to bind in your configuration steps settings).  The forumla node is not able to reference an entry of order of the operator interface. You must manually configure the formula tab of configuration step for that particular step.

  I would recommend if you want that more customized the user interface and approach programming using an application development environment.  Signal Express is ideal for acquisition of signals and perform analysis and basic treatment, but if you want more functionality LabVIEW would be a better option.

• Turning off IEPE signal Express with 9234?

  I have a module 9234 and I can't understand how to disable IEPE while using the Signal Express.  A new tab named "Device" appears when you watch 9234 modules, but which has only a drop-down list to select the AC/DC coupling.  MAX displays a checkbox for IEPE, but I can't find that in the Express of the Signal.

  Hi ChrisCW,

  In order to set the IEPE, you must choose a task of nonvoltage such as acoustic pressure or acceleration.  You can see in the photo I have both source IEPE and value available.  If a task of tension is the only one that has meaning for your application, you can always use one of the other and adjust the data.

  I'll go ahead and submit a product idea to have this added to the task of blood also.

  

• Signal Express 2009 causing NIMAX generate an Exception error message

  I have a system which gives an error message when I try to open an instrument in NIMAX. The popup error message shows 'unexpected error', with a code of "MAXKnownException. This system running Windows XP, and we Signal Express 3.0 with 4.3 NIMAX works perfectly. We went to Signal Express 2009 with NIMAX 4.6 and this problem occurs.

  Error log message which is gereated is

  "The niVISAui.mxx plug-in caused an exception in the CmxAggregateItemUI::GetToolbar function in the process of NIMax."

  Some info about failure for future reference, the problem is not benign in the pop up I chose to ignore the error message but any time, I tried to open an instrument in NIMAX I would get the same pop up and NIMAX was virtually unusable.

  The good news is that we were able to get this to work. The Signal Express 2009 package we received came with the associated device drivers CD. Unfortunately, NIMAX on the CD version was 4.5 and it turns out that Signal Express 2009 must have the 4.6 version to work. We took NIMAX version 4.6 out of the web site of NOR and cured the problem.

• Display of recorder in Signal Express

  I want to display a chart of tape display a signal from slow speed (f = 0.25 to 1.0 hz) signal that represents the position that results in a resistive (1 k) position linear tranducer (IE Unimeasure LX - PA series).  This view must move left as new signals are acquired, rather than updating a display both as a field of application; IE more recent signal is on the right side, and there are N seconds are displayed on the left edge.

  I'm a THE Signal Express 'newbie '.  I have the signal from the NI USB 6211 correctly and displaying as a scope, but may not know how to change the view of what I want.

  Any ideas or suggestions?

  You must pass your signal through a step amplitude and levels:

  • Add step > analysis > temporal measures > Amplitudes and levels.
  • Go to Set Up settings and deselect RMS, leaving only the DC value controlled.
  • From there just drag and drop this signal (the newly created DC signal) in the graph
  • Right-click on the graph, and then select the Update Mode
  • You should now have the opportunity to see in band, scope, or sweeping graphic.

• How to test the signal strength of an Airport Express, which extends a network?

  I am trying to understand how my Airport Express is actually help to expand my network, and if I should move somewhere different. Any help would be appreciated!

  Current situation: my base station is an AirPort Extreme in our apartment computer room; for the internet, which is plugged into the wall. The wifi network is extended in the living room via an AirPort Express (version 7.6.4). There are on the same cabinet as the AirPort Express to Apple TV. The Airport Express has an optical cable connecting to a sound bar (which has an additional HDMI connection to the TV).

  I don't really know if the AirPort Express Terminal, he does something useful. The network is set to be extended, best I can tell: Airport Extreme network Mode is "Create a wireless network", and network Mode of the AirPort Express is "extend a wireless network. But still, the wifi on my iPad and iPhone signal strength seem to fall much in the living room. Apple TV usually broadcasts music from my desktop computer (in the computer room) well enough, but if I try to play music from my computer via the Apple Express at the soundbar, the connection is terrible and fall. (Which could be a problem with wifi, or could be an aging Airport Express question, could be a cable problem or might be a sound bar problem...)

  An example of what worries me: if I go to the Airport utility on my iPhone and a glance at the Airport Extreme, it has 4 Wireless, including Apple TV clients. But if I look at the AirPort Express, there sometimes a client wireless (iPhone), but never shows the Apple TV: even if the Apple TV is about 30 cm of the Airport Express. It's as if the 30cm distant to the Airport Express connection is weaker than the connection of two-rooms-distant Airport Extreme, but I am probably wrong that.

  In any case, is there a way to test what speed is through the AirPort Express, compared to through the extreme? I tried to use applications like CloudCheck on my iOS devices, but those only measure the speed of my network, and it is unclear whether or not he uses the Extreme or Express.

  One way to see the strength of the signal is the Alt (option) key while clicking on the WiFi icon in the menu bar.

  But you see not directly related to the airport of arrival. Also the Airport utility does not give much information.

  You can see a lot more with the free app (Appstore) called "WiFi Scanner".

  The problem could be that the place you have chosen for the Airport Express can be better: it should be somewhere in halfway (in force) between the Real and where you sit with the iPad/iPhone.

• Why is the signal to my airport express base station weaker?

  My airport express base station to base station (part number MC414LL/A) has worked well for the first 3 years, but now has a weaker signal is no longer covers the apartment. The location has not changed and we have not added all of the devices that could create interference.

  3 years... average... is on when the internal of food inside the Express starts slowly the head downhill, so maybe it's a factor here.

  If you don't have already done, power off the AirPort Express for a few seconds, then put it to the top. When you start the Express, it will automatically scan all channels use wireless sector and select the best channel to use both.  If you live in a crowded environment, you may have to restart the AirPort Express on a regular basis.

  If there is no improvement after a few reboots of the Express, on what you can do at this point is to reset the device back to the default settings and then set up again to see if a new beginning offers some improvements in the intensity of the signal.

• How do I capture the output of voltage full bridge with Signal Express NI9219

  Hello.  I'm trying to do and calibrate a load cell with the installation of full-bridge strain gage.  I use a NI9219 module with a cDAQ chassis.  Is it possible to capture the actual output voltage?  Signal Express gives me a value of strain, but I really need to know the output voltage.  Where to look.  I need only two channels for full-bridge.  I think that could connect the wires to the two remaining channels and read the output voltage of the strain gauges which would be connected as a tension of the 9219 entry, but I think that Signal Express could give me the voltage and output voltage directly.  Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!  P.S. I only use this equipment on occasion and am not the more familiar with it, so keep things simple for me.  Thanks again.

  The NI 9219 measures the ratio of voltage full bridge in hardware sensors, allowing any variation of the voltage to cancel. You won't be able to measure the output voltage of the sensor regardless of the voltage without additional channels, but you can measure the ratio of raw tension using the type of Bridge (V/V) . You can also use the type of measure of Force (bridge) measurement of load cell with engineering units (N, lb, kgf, no strain).

  These types of measurement were added sometimes around DAQmx 9.1, so if you have an older version of NOR-DAQmx, your DAQ Assistant maybe not them. The latest version is currently 9.4 of NOR-DAQmx. Front of NOR-DAQmx 9.1, the approach to recommend to measure the load cells was to use the custom with Excitation voltage type and a custom scale. However, Tension Custom excitedly can't Bridge of calibration in the DAQ Assistant.

The only thing I found is Signal Express Verstion 1.1.1. Is there supposed to be any extra CD to update. I need to install Express of Signal on my laptop. Thank you very much.

  Please post on the Forums of NOR. Unfortunately, we are unable to upgrade to version 2.5.0 of the 1.1.1 cd. However, if you have your serial number, you can download the evaluation version of 2.5.0 section and activate it with your serial number and the computer. • How to display the signal on a waveform graph in Labview Signal Express?

  I want to display a signal in Signal Express 3.0 in a "waveform table", but don't know how to do it and I think that it may be impossible?

  In Labview, there are two ways to view data, a 'waveform table' or a 'waveform graph. The great thing with 'picture of waveform' is that it allows you to set a length of history and you can see the data move to the left (option graphic strip) that samples are recovered. It works perfectly.

  In Signal Express I can only select "Graph XY" or "Waveform curve" by doing a right-click of the mouse, but I can't select "table of waveform. Is it really true that it is not possible to view data in a graph of waveform "with Labview? (1 analog signal during streaming, 100 samples to read at the rate of 1 K)

  Hi Enrique.

  You are right that there is currently no graphic waveform in SignalExpress. The thing nearest you can join, is saved data under a log and then he looks one when recording (which I know this isn't quite the same interactive behavior).

  For your last comment, you wrote 'waveform curve', but I guess you meant 'picture' here as well.

• I have trouble understanding how the calendar for the vi simulate Signal Express. Can anyone help?

  I'm generating a signal to 100,000 samples per second. The frequency is 4 Hz. I then pass the signal through the basic vi trigger detection to find out where the wave crosses 0.5.

  Since the signal is 4 Hz, the waveform should cross 0.5 each 0.25 sec. However, when I created a table of the times that the trigger is activated, it is not 0.25 seconds.

  I don't know if there is a problem with my calculation of the duration of simulation, or if I don't understand how the vi signal simulation works. Thank you very much for your ideas!

  Yes, you made a few mistakes or bad assumptions about who express vi.

  The frequency is 4 Hz samples per second is of 100,000 samples (orders of magnatude) generated too high are 76 (0.76mSecs worth of data).  1% duty cycle so a transition product only once every thousand loops! 1315 or 1316 loops between L - H transition to be more precise

• How to analyze the data of the cDAQ and Signal Express, especially after analysis?

  In the first series of tests of my instrument, it took longer than expected for the race.  Thus, the data was saved in 6 days.  The file is too large for export to Excel.  At the beginning of the project, I was as ignorant as I could go ahead and add analysis and the scaling of measures.  By the scaling, I mean my data of switching current dew points or whatever it is that I record.

  How to evolve the data to read the output data as expected 4mA = point of dew of-20 C or 0 PSIG?  Can I pre program this to be recognized for each event?

  For real analysis I am doing – I would first analyze the data I recorded and choose different points to send to Excel to graph and analyze.  Is this possible?

  Secondly, I would like to know how to scale and analyze my data in the project without having to do this later analysis in the future?
