  Ø Have you connected the USB hard drive to the computer directly or you have used an external USB hub to connect?

  O the hardrive shows in windows of the computer when you connect it?

  Method 1:
  If you have installed security software, I suggest you to temporarily disable the security software and connect the USB and check to see if the same problem happens. Make sure that you enable the security software after checking.

  Alternatively, you can try to plug the USB key into a different USB port and check if it helps.

  Method 2:

  If this does not help, then follow these steps:

  (a) remove all your USB devices. Use the safely remove the feature to turn them off.

  If you made a mistake by activating windows using the telephone activation.

  I suggest you to follow the same procedure again to turn on the phone and choose the right option to activate.

  Follow the steps below for phone activation.

  1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

  
  

  2. then press the ENTER"" key.

  3. Select your "country" in the list.

  4. choose the option "activate phone".

  5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

  6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

It is now is an endless restart loop.

  Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  Unfortunately, a lot of registry cleaners may end up doing more harm than good.  I would check with the registry program, to see if it created any type of original backup before you start.  Now when you say that you "reset the registry to an older date" did you do this through the system restore?  If not then I suggest to run a system restore to a date prior to the registry "cleaning".  If that does not resolve the issue, then you do a repair installation.

  You can try to use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer data and settings to C: on D: drive and install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit on the C: drive. After installing Windows Vista 64 bit on C: drive try to reuse Windows Easy transfer to transfer the data back (from D: to C: drive).

  You can also take an external data backup before you attempt the Installation of Windows Vista.

• I don't want copies of outgoing attachments stored in the "sent" mailbox I tried Attachment extractor and it kind of worked and then removed a big bunch of emails.

  I have been using Thunderbird for a few months and after a while he started to do really weird things. I discovered that it was 98% full according to the progress at the bottom bar.

  I downloaded attachment extractor add-on and it worked fine and free up space and NO percentage or progress bar has been shown for a while until of course it filled again after only a week or two.

  All I want to do is prevent saving a copy of outgoing attachments in the "sent" folder Thunderbird mail. It is totally useless because I keep the original files in a folder and another copy is unnecessary. I don't especially need copies of space filling and causing Thunderbird make a big mess.

  Is there a way to change the settings to do this and if not please tell me why it does not exist.

  It is much more logical to me to have the ability to save DO NOT copis accurate for each attachment outgoing.

  It also records the signature file, a separate copy for each outgoing email. This is ridiculous and absolutely useless.
