Print Directory function
Windows XP, Word 2007
I used a post earlier that sugested use kb321379 to get the print file in a folder. I used the function "fix it for me". Is it possible to print landscape or different page size? List printing directly to the printer, no letter of portrait orientation and size including no chance to change.
TIA
KB321379 is a script that displays the directory in a file, open the file with Notepad, then print using all the default settings of the notebook. There's not a lot of chance to change that. Probably, you should start looking for a 3rd party program print your directories. One of these programs (which I have not tried it personally) is "Karen Directory Printer"-, but feel free to Google for yourself.

Hello
How can I get my pc to the side of the print directoryThanks Charlie
Here's the procedure on how to do this in Windows Vista (and XP and Win7): http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/321379. This article explains how to add the feature print directory for files in Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. After you follow the steps in the "More information" section, you right-click on a folder, and then click the print directory listing to print a directory listing of the contents of a folder - making it available at the click of a mouse instead of needing to open a program to do.
I hope this helps.
Good luck! Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

Add the "Print Directory Listing" option to the context menu of Windows Explorer
Get the error message when you try to use the "Print Directory Listing" solution found in:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321379/en-us on my new Windows 7 system (from February 2010).Could create the context menu of Windows Explorer for the task, but selecting just results in the following error message:
"This file doesn't have an associatd with her program to perform this action. Please install a program or... to create an association in the default programs control panel. »
Wentback and checked my Regedit work. Even deleted the new key and she recreated (just in case.)
NOTE: I had successfully used the instructions in this article to add "Print Directory Listing features on Windows XP systems, so I reviewed these instructions to see differences and noticed that it * no. * 'associate' step for Vista/Win7 in the article, but this step still shown for XP.»
And, there seems to be NO WAY to associate a program (in this case, a ".bat") with all of 'record' as target. Only choices I see these in the 'control panel default programs ' are'. [extensions] "and the protocols.
So I'm puzzled.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just tried this with instructions to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321379/en-us link you provided and it worked fine.
In view of the error you get here are my assumptions to what may be the problem. Please try these out and answer:
-Because it denounces, "file doesn't have an associated program.." I would make sure that when you created with Notepad the file .bat you na not to create a file called 'Printdir.bat.txt' or 'Printdir.bat.some_bad_extension '. If your Windows Explorer settings are set to hide file extensions when you look at a file name, then maybe the REAL file extension you give the command file is being hidden on your part and Windows does not know how to open a file with the extension hidden type. Make sure that you can see all the file extensions and make sure that the batch file is named with the .bat extension.
-If you see very well all the file extensions in Windows Explorer and your file is called really Printdir.bat, make sure that you have saved in your root directory of Windows. If you access %windir% you see Printdir.bat inside there? If this isn't the case, put it there. If you do, when you double-click the .bat file Windows run without error and print the dir? If it works, you know that the batch file works correctly.
-There's a typing error in the instructions for Vista/Windows 7, check that your registry entries look like this:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\Print directory Listing\command
This shows the new key under shell called "Print Directory Listing" and inside this key/folder another folder/key named "command".
To within the key/folder 'command', it takes only one entrance with the name of (by default). Double-click (default) and make sure that its value data is set to:
Printdir.bat %1
-You shouldn't need step "the associate" in Windows 7.
-You can add "Add Print Directory Listing to the context menu of Windows Explorer" for the title of your question so that others can find it.
-
Remove "Print Directory Listing" option to context menu in Windows Explorer
remove the "Print Directory Listing" of Windows 7, the Windows Explorer context menu and corresponding registry cleaning
This answer is not answering the question of how do to REMOVE the feature list of directories printed after installation using the referenced article. The question is how you UNINSTALL both printed directories list the choices no longer appears in the right click menu?
Thank you!

Hi David,
Please contact the Microsoft community. We will be happy to help you with your concern.
According to the description, screenshot image is large and you want to get it in normal size. Am I wrong?
Screenshot should give a 1:1 copy of the screen, you can check the zoom value, but it will be set to 1 x when you open it.
Please send us a screenshot of the screen so that we can check that the size and let you know.

When I try to find a LAN printer "directory service is not available" error appeas in XP
My laptop computer, an IBM T43, works in a room separate from the printer. The printer, a HP Photosmart C6180, is connected by a CAT5 cable to the wireless router, a Linksys WRT54G. When the laptop is connected to the printer with a USB cable, it finds the printer and print. When he tries to print via the wireless network, it can not find a printer. When he tries to find the printer it gives the error "the directory service is currently unavailable." Nothing seems to go beyond this error. Efforts have been made through the administrative account.
It has been my experience that it is usually easier to install HP network printers using the HP software by running the windows "Add Printer Wizard." This is especially true for all-in-one devices like your C6100.
The icon of the printer that you have (if you have not deleted) is the installation of a direct USB connection.
If the printer is connected to a point over the network, the correct port is perhaps still. Select the properties of the printer as before and open the Ports tab. Is there a line for which the middle ('Description') column is "HP Standard TCP/IP Port" or "Standard TCP/IP Port"? If so, put a check mark in the box and now you'll be able to click on the button 'Configure the Port' and get the IP address to match the one configured in the printer (192.168.1.104). Note that checking the box for a new port as it unplug the printer from printing to the USB port.
If no "HP Standard TCP/IP Port" or "Standard TCP/IP Port" is listed, you will need to go through the installation process to get it. Although this can be done manually (if Windows knows your printer, which is doubtful for a C6100), as I wrote above, it is much easier to do using the HP software. See pages 12 and 21-21 of your User Guide. You must remove the USB connection, as suggested in step 4 of the instructions if you think you might use this connection at any given time.
If you do not have the CD that came with the printer, you can download the necessary software here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=1153494#N191 the package is large enough. It's not not clear to me if the "basic print and scan" driver package can support a network installation. The 'Corporate' bundle only if you do not want to download the complete collection of applications. However, again based on my experience with the HP software, you might find more easy with the "Full Feature" package installation - if you can put up with the large download.

Jet J4550 all-in-one printer scanner function does not not during the installation of Windows 7
I bought a new computer with Windows 7.
Since then, I've lost the scan function of the printer all-in-one HP Officejet J4550 that worked fine so far in XP.
I tried ALL the solutions proposed on the HP Web page without success.
No idea how to solve this problem?
The print function still works. Only scans from the glass or the charger no longer works.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Norman,
Have you tried to update the driver for the printer?
Otherwise, you can download the latest driver for the printer to Windows 7 from HP website and check if it solves the problem:

I have a HP Envy dv7-7250US notebook running Windows 8.1
What I have to press on in addition to the screen "prt sc" in order to print the screen!
I would like to be able to paste into a Word document, but may not know how to do it!
Wheatfoods,
Welcome to the HP Forum.
The following applies at least to Office 2010.
Open the Word Document.
If you want then all desktop screen, click on the key Ctrl + PrintScreen and then on the Word document, right click and paste the content.
If you want that the active window, then the window is 'active', click on the ALT + PrintScreen then on the Word document, do a right click and paste the content.
You can also use "Snip" to cut any piece of anything on the screen, then use 'Save as' to save the capture to a .png or .jpg file. In the Word document, use Insert to place the image in your document.

I recently changed routers from D-Link to a Netgear R6400. I could get my desk, the laptop and the i - Pad to connect to the new network, but not my HP Officejet Pro 8600 more. When I try to change the IP address, which is what I think I do, the screen indicates "this feature has been locked by your system administrator or the one who put up the system." I'm the only one using this printer and I put in place originally, but I do not remember 'locking' anything. Will you please tell me how to solve this problem, so I can use the printer again.
Hello
Thank you for using the HP forum.
A suggestion that we recommend is to uninstall and reinstall the software FULL of features.
Alternatively, you can try the doctor print and Scan?
Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and solve your problem
