Print Photosmart 5520, 14 Chromebook and internet

I bought a HP 14 Chromebook for mother's day so I could give my DIL my laptop Windows 8 because all I used it for was e-mail and internet anyway and she had needed a new so I thought, this the heck, let's get the Chromebook and check it out.

I'm in love.  However, at the point where I just had a printer classic when I wanted to print, so I had to turn to my 8 year old office (now under Win 7) so I was able to print via the cloud.

Recently, my old HP printer (can you tell I love the HP products?)  Nope, not a representative paid or brown noser - I know just a good product when I use one and saw that I was involved in computers since 83, I know a little about them) quit printing black that is really bad, so I decided to buy a wireless network.

Without even really too attentive, I bought (I thought at the time) was a HP Deskjet printer - I need my copy and scanning - fax is not serious - and it had to be wireless.  I did not notice that what I GOT was the Photosmart 5520 with the ePrint feature.  I was in heaven.

And it WORKED!  Except that... for 1 small problem... it will not print in color and it wouldn't print via the net (I understood the problem of the internet, btw, for those of you who experience this issue even - if you look at your choice of the printer, you will see your 5520 and who says 5520 (Networking) - make sure you select the one that says just 5520 - NOT the network driver).

However, when I want to print color I spin on my desk of dinosaur and select the moment ungrayed to 5520 networked.  I figured out how to print 2 sides (too cool! Saving a ton of paper) not too bright on how slowly it prints my chromebook either - have not tried since my office again - it is connected wireless as well so it can print a little faster on a Windows-based computer.

Regardless of all this - is it possible to print on the net so that it is in color without having to turn to my office, and then select 5520 Networking?

Sorry for all the foreign info - sometimes I find I will mention something that seems out of place to me, but is in fact something with that someone is having a problem and get the answer they need.

Anyway, in the hope of finding that I'll be able to print in color, even without turning on the dinosaur.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Jodi,

I have a solution for you! My wife came home with a teal HP 14 Chromebook today, what a wonderful laptop! In any case, I added my ePrint printer and tried to reproduce the problem you described. Well, my first print job came out black and white, like yours. And I even made sure that I got the chosen color. I gave him another chance and took a slightly different path and it was released in color. Here's what you need to do... When the print window appears, on the scroll on the left down until you see "print using Google Cloud Print dialogue... ", then select it. Then, select your printer, and then change the color setting of Grey_CMY in color or Monochrome for black printing and true white.

The print dialog boxes are not pair, I don't know why that is. There may be a buried setting or maybe it's just the way it is for now. If it's like that, it shoudn't be that way and will probably be fixed in a future Chome OS update. In the meantime, I'll post here if I find a permant framework.

  • Default AirPrint of reversal of the rather long and short side (printer Photosmart 5520)

    Hello

When I used to print from my iPad via AirPrint on both sides on my printer HP Photosmart 5520, it used to print, so that you may browse on the long side. For some reason, it changed to printing, so it switches to the short side.

How can I change by flipping on the long side?

My son has discovered a fix for this problem. We have now tried on three iPads and whenever he has set.
The solution is to disable double-sided printing in the options when you are about to print a document and then turn it back on.
After that the only time anything printed duplex will be sharp long printed not short edge.
It is not a rocker, I can't get my iPad to print double-sided on the short side now (not that I want to), for some reason once you turned two-sided printing off and on again, long-back becomes the permanent default.
    Weird!

    Hi @arts4pat,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you get a secure page and that you are unable to print black on your HP Photosmart 5520 e-all-in-one printer. I'd be happy to help you with this.

I like that you get the login screen for the Built-in Web server for the printer. Is this correct? This seems to indicate that someone has put a username and password on the printer, for security reasons. If you don't know what are the connection information, the only way to remove this is to do a factory reset on the device. I can send you this information in a private message. In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

That being said, I would like to start here. Please, try the steps in this guide, the printer prints blank Page or fact not printing black or color ink for HP Photosmart 5520 and Deskjet Ink Advantage 5520 series e-all-in-one printer.

  • Can't print Photosmart 5520

    I have a Photosmart 5520.

When I put in place a few weeks ago, it was working fine.

Just tried to print, and it will not be printed. Everything is configured properly. And it is connected to my network and internet.

I printed just a wireless network test, and he said no problem found.

Any ideas on why when I try and print it does not?

Also when I do a repair through devices and printers, it is said that the printer is turned off.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Solved myself. Switched off and switched power. I'm guessing that it's not liked to be left on and do nothing for long periods.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: Factory definition and "time".

I have a Photosmart 5520. While I was away I used a different printer and when I came to change the printer to my own he asked me a name administrators and password before proceeding. Of course like so many others I have not the slightest idea what is despite trying many combinations. Then, I tried to find out what others have done and took the printer back to factory settings. When trying to connect to the WPS PIN, (which lasts 4 minutes), he repeatedly said "timed out" just before the end, twice when he had only 1 second to go.

Can someone please tell me what I should do next.

    Thank you

    Hi @Emar12

At this point, the fact that you try to connect by using the pin code WPS tells me that you try to reconfigure the printer to your wireless network. If this is correct, run the Wireless Setup Wizard instead. To run the wizard, tap the wireless on the top of the screen (this is the 2nd of the 4 icons at the top), then navigate to and select Setup Wizard wireless. This wizard will search your network and then ask for the password.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why my printer Photosmart 5520 does not fear my pages when printing duplex?

The document print OK in printing.  But when I choose one of the options "flip" (duplex printing), it forces me to 'Print with border,' which shrinks my document and broadens my margins (1 ").  How can I get double-sided printing without altering my document?

The only way I know to get around is to use a different printer driver. I'll link a document to the instructions below. Hope that helps.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: HP Photosmart 5520 suddenly will not print or scan

Suddenly is no longer able to scan or print on HP Photosmart 5520. With the scan function I use scanning to e-mail, but, after long 'Preparation scanning' on the screen of the printer, the error message "temporarily unavailable.  "Please try again later". With the impression that I use Google Cloud Print (from an Acer Chromebook) and all that happens is that the demand to print everything ends up in a queue of print jobs.  No error message appears on the printer screen. The copy function works fine.  Wireless network printing results are very good.  The printer worked fine for over a year.  Can anyone help?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer.

It's all very mysterious, but it seems to have corrected itself.  Finally, the 'out of paper' error message appeared yesterday (there were many), I pushed in the paper and things started to print again.  I was also able to rescan.  Not sure if she was no longer a problem of Google or what but we are in service again.

    Thank you very much!

  • HP Photosmart 5520 series: what ports app to print Basic or advanced within the router?

It is common for wireless printing open certain application ports in the firewall NAT to router for wireless communications is working properly?

This was not mentioned during the installion of software, but I found out about it after searching the site of HP support on WiFi printing problems.

I discovered that my router is blocking traffic on the TCP/UDP #4129 port (id: nuauth) and therefore refused all the print jobs AND ePrint work correctly... ?

In addition, I needed to add rules for TCP/UDP ports to 9100 and 9220...
I guess the 9100 (hp-pdl-datastr) is necessary for real communication?

My router is a Ubee EVW321B.

Nice interface easy to use, but maybe a bit more protection... ?

I would like to read if other users did assign certain ports for the 5522 PS works fine on a WiFi connection?

The here document contains information on port settings for the printer Photosmart 5520.  Your router is not, but he suggested the following for unlisted cases:

    1. If your firewall software is not listed in the table, manually unlock the ports used by the printer.
  • PhotoSmart 5520 print at low resolution

Just bought a new printer (Photosmart 5520) but when I print images from the proselect, they come out very low resolution. It is not the proselect as print images in high resolution to my old printer (Photosmart C4480) using exactly the same page, put in place and print settings.

It is not that the new printer can print high resolution image they come out very well if I print from Windows Explorer. I use Windows 7.

    Any ideas appreciated!

    Hi Paul,.

It seems that the problem is caused by a driver compatibility problem.  I'd like you try to change the driver of another driver, such as the HP Deskjet 9800 driver to see if printing even issue follows or is fixed.

  • Photosmart 5520 go to sleep, won't wake up

I just bought a printer Photosmart 5520. I put it up as a wireless network printer and use ePrint to my Apple iOS devices. Everything works fine until the printer goes to sleep. Initially, when it goes into sleep mode, it will wake up when I touch the touch screen to the printer. However, if it remains unchanged for a while at one point it enters a 'sleep dee p' mode where it disconnects from the network, is no longer available for my iOS devices or my Windows computers on the network and will not meet its own touchscreen. The power button is a light which fades to continuously. I am not able to turn the printer on or off using the power button. My only way to recover the printer needs to restart.

I checked the settings of the printer and the Power Off mode.

Any ideas on the problem here? This is very annoying and makes this useless printer I can print only when I'm at the printer and the power of the cycle.

The 169 IP looks like your public IP address, which is fine.  The 192.168.1.5 is correct for your IP of the printer, but it seems that you have not done is static.  In your router, you will need to check the IP addresses of DHCP window.  All routers are not the same.  Very simple, set the DHCP 192.168.1.100 Beach thru 192.168.1.254.  The router is 192.168.1.1 probably (static) and your static IP available are now 192.168.1.2 thru.99.

  • Photosmart 6525: auto efax print photosmart 6525

Efax account and can receive fax, but only show up as an email. Q: a possible incoming fax to print automatically?

The printer (Photosmart 6525) allow Eprint and connected.

    Appreciate any help,

    Frank

    Hi Frank,.

Incoming faxes can be printed automatically, for that you must update the HP ePrint email in the settings of efax.

Connect your user on eFax.com and change preferences as follows:

    • Sign in to your eFax account.

  • AirPrint and WiFi printing stopped working on Photosmart 5520

I have a HP Photosmart 5520 that worked reliably until recent days. I can print is no longer my OS x, using print wifi or iPad, using Airprint.

    My configuration:

router - apple airport extreme ac

MacBook pro connected by ethernet to the router cable

iPad wifi connected to the same router

HP Photosmart 5520 connected wireless to the same router.

    1. the 5520 has an IP (10.0.1.13) and can address the internet

    2. the router reports the 5520 is connected.

    3. the Macbook can see the scanner of the printer (such as a scanner of Hello) but not the printer.

    4. safari on the macbook can connect to the web server integrated with 10.0.1.13

    5. the ipad can't see the printer via Airprint

I unplugged and reset the printer, put off the iPad and the MacBook, nothing helps.

How can I restore WiFi printing and Airprint?

Have you tried printing via a USB connection to the Mac? Because the printer will print the iPad with a direct wireless connection, there may be a hardware problem.

  • Photosmart 5520 and the mirror image printing

I have problems printing as well a mirror image. I have a "HP Photosmart 5520'. I read somewhere that this machine has the capabilities but I can't! Help, please!

    Hello

No, it doesn't have this facility. Please, try the following options:

    • Use a computer program available, like paint or photoshop. These programs allow you to turn and rotate your image to create the image backwards (mirror).
    • Go to the site to Create Mirror Images . This site is free and takes about 60 seconds to do, no download is necessary either.
