Hi Wobblesmf,

Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find all the answers related to Windows.

According to the description, it seems that the print spooler does not start.

However, we need more information about the issue to help you better.

Please help me to answer these questions.

1. what version of Windows are you using?

2 have had any changes made to the computer before the question?

Visit the link for the operating system that you use:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/which-operating-system

I have this link which should guide you in the right direction.

This tutorial is designed to help you identify and fix common printer problems in Windows, including print errors, print spooler errors, and other issues that could prevent you from printing. This tutorial does not cover printing problems related to specific programs. Printing problems can be caused by cables that are not properly connected, corrupt, drivers, incompatible drivers, the printer settings, missing updates and problems with your printer.

just my printer spooler does not start in Windows 7.  I received a message that the spooler wasn't running when I tried to use it today.  I used the printer for a few days. "net start spooler" fails from the administrator command prompt.  I checked that the CPP is running.

I installed SP 1 yesterday with success, but I went back to the restore point, but still, the spooler does not start.

The system acts as the spooler is missing.

How can I solve this problem?

I would like to check the status of the Services.

Click on the Start button and select Control Panel, administrative tools, Services. Locate bridge end RPC Mapper in the list. Check that he started and that the startup type is automatic. If it is not set to automatic, right-click and select Properties, general tab. There is a box after the startup type. The options are available in a menu drop-down by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the box. Make the change and click apply and then click OK. Restart the computer and verify if it has started.

Repeat the procedure for DCom server process Launcher.

It is always sensitive in this situation to achieve a malware check.

Start the computer in safe mode with network and download and install Malwarebytes (free version for individuals only), updated definitions and run in safe mode. Disable other security software while you do the analyses.

  • Spoolsv.exe - local print spooler does not start

    Dear all

My local print spooler will not start. After a recent Windows update all my devices when removed, which was a printer. I run the malware and anti spyware software on my PC, remove no matter what malware/spyware, but I can not yet install the printer I have.

The message I get is "Windows cannot add a printer. The spools of local printer service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. I tried to restart the spooler but this does not work, I get an error 1068. I rebooted the machine several times; all to nothing does not. The 'service' shows 2 HTTP and RPC dependencies. My understanding is that the only dependency should be the PRC, but I can't change the file. Short to restore PC to factory settings and start all over again, I'm lost. Is there anything else I can try before taking this reconstruction?

At a prompt (run as administrator), run the following:

dependent on the spooler of sc config = RPCSS

Note the space between = and RPCSS.

This removes any dependencies on the spooler and restore the default RPCSS dependence.

One of the problems with viruses and malware is that there is no real way to know what exactly it is they changed on your system, the more benign virus may be easy to remove but never pests morphing and a constant flow of new pests pushed one never knows how a machine is compromised.  After the withdrawal of an infection, you should always ask yourself if you can really trust the machine, if you don't know if the answer is no, the only course of action is to flatten and rebuild the machine.   Disk imaging/cloning utilities are perfect for this, they can help you get your machine running in a minimum of time and upward.

I go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, there is nothing for me to remove it.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated...

    Hello yan_dao69,

I suggest that you try the methods below to solve the problem.

    Method 1:

I suggest that you run the printer troubleshooter. This will automatically diagnose and fix printing problems:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Ideally, this would set the print spooler service issues.

    Method 2:

I suggest that you disable the Antivirus software temporarily and verify if you are able to start the print spooler service. You can check the link that will give you information disable antivirus below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Please make sure that you enable the antivirus software after the test to keep your computer protected.

    Method 3:

Check the dependency of the spooler services in the registry.

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. look for, and then click the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler

    c. right-click on spooler, click Export, save a backup file on your desktop.

NOTE: If an unforeseen problem be encountered after changing the registry, please double-click on the file to restore the backup.

    d. in the details pane, if the DependOnService value shows values of RPCSS and other key, right-click DependOnService and then click on edit.

    e. in the value data box, delete the other keys and then click OK.

    f. exit the registry editor.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Print spooler does not start error 1053

I have Windows 7 64 bit and the printer has always worked fine until a week ago.  I now have a pop-up message that says "I need to select a printer.  And if I need to install a printer, click Add printer, or find... ».  I click on the printer to find and it is empty.

I searched the forum for Microsoft and tried the following solutions:

-I went to Services, checked to see if the CPP is automatic and works.  This is the case.  Then I checked Spoolvs and it is also automatic but not running.  I click on 'Start', but I get an error message 1053 "service did not demand launch or timely control.

-Command prompt to check all corrupted files.  The results are all ok.

-Network > the sharing advanced setting > under home or work > under homegroup connections, I ticked the box "user accounts and passwords.  then restart.  The printer has worked for only 2 tests.

-Leva 'Windows Update' and nothing is needed.

-A ran a virus scan and everything is fine.

-Wanted "Event Viewer" > error > Printing Service, the results only with error 2114 «print spooler could not share Canon ink jet with the name of the shared resource in ink jet Canon...» ».

    Hello

It is not irreparable, but it takes a bit of knowledge. Try the methods that to
once. As I said seek help from a family member, a friend or a real computer store.

If you start up and down if you think you can perform these tasks
even if you don't understand them.

Make a Restore Point before you start, you can return to where you were like that

  • 1053 error print spooler does not start

Hi I have a HP Photosmart C4783 and all of a sudden, I can't print more.

I tried to restart the coil, but it's just for me that error 1053 and some blah on demand does not in a timely fashion.

I went into System 32 to ensure that spool.exe is still there and it is.

I am running windows 7 64 bit and all updates, including the printer are up-to-date.

Everything was fine until a few days ago and I have no new hardware or software installed.

It's really boring it would be great if someone has an answer that does not include trawl by a thousand other items that suggest the reboot of the coil.

    Thank you guys.

If you get error 1053 when print spooler starts, it is usually a problem with the operating system itself.  However, I have something I would like you to try as a way to get the spooler to start.

    • Open the command run by selecting it from the start menu or by pressing the Windows key (to the left of the alt) + R

    • Type services.msc and press enter

    • Scroll down and double click on print spooler

    • Select the tab log

    • Uncheck the Allow service to interact with desktop

    • Click apply

    • Select the general tab for the print spooler, and then select start

This becomes the print spooler to start successfully?

My print spooler does not start and I get the error code 1053

    Hi troy,

I've personally encountered this error and had to reinstall my system, but try this:

    • Simultaneously press the keys Ctrl + Win and should bring up a run dialog box
    • Type C:\System32\Spool\Printers in the Run dialog box and a windows Explorer should appear
    • In the folder, delete all the files in the folder

This will delete the documents you have sent to the printer. Then, you start the "Print spooler" service in this way:

    • Simultaneously press the keys Ctrl + Win and should bring up a run dialog box
    • Type net start "print spooler".

Try this and let me know how it goes.

  • Print spooler does not. Unable to use printer

From a newsgroup post: "it seems that the print spooler does not and that it was impossible (or not configured to) restart itself.» When the print spooler does not work, printers will be not visible in the Printers folder, and you will not be able to add a new printer. A number of things could cause the print spooler to fail. It's corrupt print jobs, incompatible or problematic printer drivers or port monitors, corrupted file or disc and even other applications or processes interfering with the spooler in memory. If you try to manually restart the print spooler and it fails immediately, he may be trying to process a print job corrupted after the start. It is a common cause for the print spooler failures that occur immediately. If the print spooler starts and printing features returns for a while before a failure once again, then a monitor driver or the port is probably the cause of the problem.

To remove print spooling jobs that could cause this problem, simply remove (or remove) the files with the extension ".spl" or ".shd' of the location of the coil when the print spooler is stopped. This place is typically "c:\\system32\spool\printers" (it might have been edited manually). Once the existing spool files have been deleted, try to restart the print spooler again to see if it works normally. If there is no (.shd or .spl files) spooling print jobs, or remove the old spooling print jobs does not change the behavior, a port monitor or driver may be to blame. " M260142 provides information more detailed which will be useful in troubleshooting.

  • I can't print. It says local print spooler does not work, restart the printer or machine.

I use windows7, I can't print. It says local print spooler does not work, restart the printer or machine. I can not install, or add the printer currently installed in my computer. Help, please.

    Original title: printer

    Hello

The print spooler is the mechanism that will interface between your application and the printer and coils (sends) the print job to the printer. It should start automatically when you start your machine. So, restart your computer and try again. I suspect that the real problem is to find why the print spooler has stopped in the first place.

After trying again, see what happens and if your print spooler stops again, the real work will begin.

    Kind regards

  • Printer spooler does not work for a single user on the network printer

original title: very different printer problem

I have a HP deskjet printer shared from a PC on the network.
I was informed of a single person could not access error poped by saying "printer spooler does not work.
I went to the services and made sure it was infact running and rebooted to be sure also restarted the RPC services as it is addictive
Still, the user cannot print to the printer. I took the computer that has been seen issues and hung where fixed my PC and I am able to connect and print!

If I move my computer witch would allow me to print before there where his computer is my computer prompt same error

My idea is - what some are how a network issue, but the user can still access drives network, internet and other printers on the network

    Just not this printer

The computer on the share is is a windows xp sp2 workstation

The computer with the issue is any system I plug its cable Ethernet (XP anyway) I have not tried with a windows machine 7.

My hypothesis is a bad Ethernet cable? I'm quite lost with this question at this stage.

My next step is to hang the printer until a print area and assign an IP address and finish with the share.

(Still not sure if it would help or not)

    Any advice is welcome thanks

It turned out to be a bad switch. I don't understand why it did not work. All the computers had no problems other than the present even that if I swapped the ports it has made a difference.

Hung new switch and all computers works fine now.
