Printer cannot find the network

I just bought a new printer HP Photosmart 5514.  I tried to connect to my wireless router, but he can't find it. I checked to make sure that the router was conducted, it was broadcasting the SSID and I have was close enough to receive the signal. Everything was ok, but it has always failed. I still don't see it.  (On a side note, 2 laptops can see the router and another 1 laptop can't see the router). I think I might be missing just a setting somewhere but can't find it.  Help, please!

I have a Linksys WRT320n.

Wireless broadband: 5 GHz
Network mode: mixed
The network name (SSID): wire78
Channel width: Auto (20 & 40 MHz)
Channel: Auto
SSID Broadcast: enabled

Security: WPA2 Personal with a password

MAC filtering: disabled

I found the error.  I needed to have the band Wireless 2.4 GHz.  Fixed both the problem of connectivity to the printer and the laptop that did not see the network.

OK, I did a bit of homework on this and spoke to the team of Mac here at HP.  The iPad can not implement it (and a few other HP wireless printers) to connect to your wireless network.  I'm sorry.

You'll have to borrow a computer to configure the printer.  Once configured, your iPad can use very well.

When you get the computer home, first, click the button on the front of the printer wireless and choose the default settings.  You will have a time of this point for the installed printer.  Download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • B209a printer cannot find the new wireless network

Let me start that I am not very tech savy to start so I read other discussions related to this and could not find a snwer to solve my problem.

I upgraded my router wireless internet 10 days ago and since then my printer cannot find a wireless connection. That's what I've tried so far, I tried to restart the printer, unpluging it and pluging reconnect, restart my router, myrouter to reset (which knocked my internet at home for hours). The rest of my Office Home phones and cell phones all pick up my network, but my printer can't seem to find it. He said only: "No connection found" on the touch screen.

I run a wireless network Test report, and he says that he cannot find a SSID. But when I printed on a Page of Configuration of HP network it states that he discovered 5 networks, including mine.

My wireless router is a rhythm. I have not installed it, did the tech from my service provider. He seemed brand new. I have no way to update its firmware (whatever it is).

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • 5525 printer cannot find the wireless network

    Help

I'm not good with technical stuff and need help with this problem.  Printer works well before going on holiday - power off, including the CISCO router when we went away--returned and turned on any return, printer will not connect to the router again.

Have reinstalled router without result.  All other computers, phones, etc. to connect to the router fine.

Wireless network test that the MAC address filtering is enabled, they suggest however have checked this and it's not.

Wireless configuration wizard can find the network but it just seems impossible to connect to him.

Please assume the lowest level of technical understanding when you reply!

    Thank you

    Hi K27,.

I see that you are having some problems getting your Photosmart 5525 reconnected to your network after just unplugging a bit. I understand that you have your information wirelessly, but I don't want to set a link here which will take you to our HP print and doctor Scan, which can help you check some things on the wireless network.

Since you already feed the router to bike, I would recommend restoring the default values of network on the front panel of the printer. You'll want to have your printer on the home screen (should say Photo, Apps and copy). On this screen you want to touch the key/tool icon in the upper right corner, then you want to click on wireless and made scroll down looking for default network. Once you click on that it will ask if you are sure and you want to say Yes. Once that is done, I would recommend the router/printer power cycling tips that were previously provided and then run the wireless configuration that you've been already and it should be able to connect at this time.

That should hopefully fix it for you, so let me know what happens and I wish you a nice day!

    Hi foberg,

Looks like you have some problems with the operating system installed on this computer. Try the following steps to see if that helps.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista allows you to have multiple users share the same computer under their own individual accounts. This allows each user to have their own location on the computer where they can store their personal documents, photos, videos, saved games and other personal data. It also allows the owner of the computer assign some accounts the ability to perform administrative tasks such as installing software, while limiting the capabilities of the other user.

This tutorial will guide you in creating a new account in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

    1. Click the Start button. It's the small round button () in the lower left corner of your screen that has a Windows flag on it.
    2. Click on the Control Panel menu option.
    3. When Control Panel opens, you will see a screen similar to Figure 1 below.

  • Adding HP ePrint home and Biz iPhone app - mal printer cannot find the email address of the printer

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart c6380 to my iPhone. I have already downloaded the app and my printer is connected to my wireless network, as is my iPhone, but I can't add my printer to the app.

When I go to 'Manage ePrinters' and try to add a printer with the + button I see 3 choices:

Add x to list: "no available ePrinters.

Manually add: I can't find the printer even email address using the instructions available on the ePrint centre.

Add the WiFi network: my printer is not shown in this list, so it does not support Autodiscover.

So I guess that if I could just find email address of my printer that would connect to my iPhone for wireless printing, but I can't for the life of me find.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello amybett,

I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that your printer is not Airprint/ePrint capable. However, the good news is that with the HP ePrint capable home and Biz iPhone app, it didn't need to be Airprint/Eprint, as it is connected to the same network as your phone.

Here are the steps that you want to print something:

    1. installation of the application by filling in the electronic registration and entering the code (which I believe you have).

    2. Select the item you want to print by using the menu in the application (Photo Albums, files saved, Web browser, etc.).

    3. Once you select the item, you should see article and a big button "Print" under him.

    4. If the printer you want to print to is not listed above the 'Print' button, select the icon on the right (key/computer), and then select the printer you want to use (and other parameters).

    5. press the button 'Back' at the top left, then tap "Done" (blue top-right button) and then press the 'Print' button to print your article.

Let me know if you still have problems after following the guide above.

  • Printer cannot find the SSID

This morning the power on the wall where the router is plugged is out. I fixed it and was able to get back on the internet. Problem is that the wireless printer does not work. When I reinstall, my network SSID is not displayed in the available choices. And when I go in the type manually, it can't find it. I'm on the internet. My good names will be displayed. I even went my router page to check these settings. I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled.  I get the same.

Connectivity report shows the network name (SSID Found)... IN CASE OF FAILURE

Yet, the networkname is listed in the current configuration of the report at the bottom section.

Report says also that wireless is enabled and works.

    Why is it not appear?

In fact, I just changed the name of the SSID and he appeared.

  • Cannot find the network-

Hello - my laptop has a Wi - Fi connection and net access.

For a long time, I was using the laptop with the wireless connection. My router assigned 192.168.1.237 to the Wi - Fi connection.  I was able to map the disk on the laptop and remote access.

A month ago I connecting the laptop to my home network via a wired connection to 192.168.1.172 - once again, I make me connections to and from the laptop.

Now, I disconnect the wired connection and now the laptop seems to have trouble finding the other computer on the network or if the laptop can be found

    computer too.

Don't know if it's an OS problem or a problem with my router and DNS - any suggestions on how to get the laptap back on the network with the

    WiFi would be appreciated.

NO, but a password is required to connect to the wireless network.

You must have a cryptographic, or otherwise you wouldn't need a password.  If there is no encryption configured in your router, where is the need for a password from a?

Determine the IP addresses of other devices on your network (for Windows computers, run an ipconfig command in a command prompt window).

They should all be a 192.168.1.xxx where xxx is greater than 1 and less than 254.  Are they?

Open a command prompt window and type

    Ping

    What is going on?

Given your description of what works and what does not work, I can only think of two possible explanations:

    • Some firewall 3 rd-party blocks wireless connection: what security software is installed, including your antivirus program, any firewall program, any program antimalware, etc.. ?
    • You are currently connected to the network wireless to a neighbor with the same SSID (network name).  It would be very likely if you, indeed enter a password to connect wireless

    Hi @MaryamCD

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I saw your post about wireless problems you are having with your Pavilion. Have you tried to connect to any of these other networks to make sure that your wireless network is able to connect and funtion correctly? In general, if you can see the other networks it could be something on the network at the origin of the problem. If you have not had the chance to unplug your wireless router and the model please do. Leave of them disconnected for 30 seconds, and then reconnect hide them in. Then see if you can see your network again.

What operating system do you use? What have listed it under network adapters in your device manager? What is the product number for your Pavilion?
