  My HP Deskjet 5740 printer does not recognize my new HP Photocartridge 348. It is brand new, not expired, official but I only get black prints. I can't find anything useful on the HP support site. The printer is not set to only print in black.

  The cartridge goes in the slot for cartridges of blacks, there is no colourcartridge in the other location at this time.   The Photo cartridge has not all the colors, Photo black, cyan and light magenta.  It is used in conjunction with the color cartridge (which feeds the cyan, magenta and yellow) for photo printing.

  If you want to print in color, you will need a color cartridge.  The color cartridge can print in black (approximately) by itself, but the photo or black print cartridge cannot print without the color cartridge color.

  I recently bought a computer Dell 4700 to a friend with Windows XP installed. I've updated the memory to 2 GB and now seeks to install a WD10EARS 1 TB harddrive. After they all left without resolution I thought and it appeared to me that the simplest solution might be correct. One person had checked. • OfficeJet Pro 8500 does not accept the new cartridge

  My OfficeJet Pro 8500 has 910g does not accept the new magenta cartridge. It displays replace following used cartridge in the order of printing continues (translated from Swedish).   I think that could happen is that the oval pin mechanism comes into contact with food has become defective over time. Its supposed to sink to bottom when feeding is complete (on inserting). Over time as the ink level runs the mechanism will expand gradually until you reach full extension on what an ink level alert is triggered.   I bought the M50-A-110 model and tried to replace the HARD drive by a Pro 840 Samsung SSD. The laptop does not recognize the SSD drive, so I sent him to the local Toshiba service for inspection.

  They discovered that the laptop does not recognize ALL of the latest SSD (they tried to Samsun, Intel, Crucial, Kingston and SSD Seagate). They checked, and I possible newer BIOS, so this isn't a problem, and the SSD worked fine on other computers.

  Someone knows how to solve this mess?

  I can't believe that Satellite M50 - A can not handle any of the mentioned SSDS.

  I upgraded my Toshiba laptop with SSD Pro 840. But before I did, the update of the firmware of SSD was necessary. Before the firmware update, the SSD has failed, after the firmware update, BIOS can handle the SSD.

  I would recommend to check the SSD for the firmware update!

• Windows Media Player does not recognize the new downloaded songs

  I have a Pavilion a4310f Prod Nr: race AY014AA-ABA, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

  I just found out that Windows Media Player does not recognize the songs, I recently downloaded from Wal-Mart music download Site.  The songs can be seen in the music library in a folder called 'Downloads' and I can open each song and he will play when double-clicked.  The problem is that I can't create a playlist containing the new songs and burn a copy of the reading list, because the songs are not listed in the Media Library Player any hot it is sorted (artist, Album, Genre, etc.).

  Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Problem solved!

  Went to: start == > Control Panel == > troubleshooting == > view all == > and ran troubleshooting on the library and the settings of WMP.

  Convenience store detected library corrupt and "in media files appear in the WMP library.  Then ran convenience store on WMP settings which reset OMP to default settings.  After that, everything worked as announced.

• Satellite A100 does not recognize the new CD/DVD drive

  I bought a new CD/DVD drive for my A-100 of Toshiba Satellite age of four year old went crazy and wouldn't work.

  Unfortunately, I bought a DVD of Toshiba Portege A100 / reader Combo CD - RW that is not exactly what I had before the jump that it will still work.

  Unfortunately, I'm surprised because it does not recognize the CD/DVD drive at all: /...
  It seems to work, and the light blinks I think that it is not broken.

  I just plugged it because that's the way I was told to do.
  I need to download the drivers to operate?
  It will work on my laptop, or is it a "most recent" CD player that will not work with my laptop?

  The BIOS does not recognize this new CURIOUS because the player seems not to be fully compatible.

  As you know these settings can be changed on the external CD/DVD drive for desktop switching jumper. But it is not possible for computers portable CD/DVD players.

  You can solve it only purchase a new compatible disc.

  Usually the ASP in your country could help you buy this disc of these guys here
  However, you can consult the user manual if there are a few details on the compatible sides.

• C4385 does not recognize the new router

  Just changed internet service providers.  Although I used this vendor before and not had any problems with my printer, I now have a problem.  My C4385 will not recognize the new network.  Hp network connection software that I run has no effect.   It will not detect a network even if my computer shows an excellent connection to the network.

  When I run the wireless network test report it shows "FAIL" next to "Network Name (SSID) Found."  The recommendation is to "check that your HP printer (SSID) name exactly matches your name (SSID) wireless router.

  I am completely baffled by the present.  I've seen other questions that are similar to this, but none that refer to my model exactly.  Any help is appreciated.

  Please, try the following:

  1. disconnect the USB cable from your printer

  2. make sure to delete any previous copies of your HP printer from the printers (in Control Panel) screen

  3. restart your PC

  4. under the printers screen, enter the following print server properties screen:

  XP: File > print server properties

  Vista: right click on the area of the screen information, and then select run as administrator > print server properties (law as Administrator option will not allway appear)

  Win7: Select any other printer in a left click and you will see the properties of the print server to the Menu bar top

  On the Ports tab, be sure to remove any existing TCP/IP port.

  5. remove temporarily disable your firewall software

  6. start the installation and select reconfigure the network connection / add a device.

  Printer worked so well. Moved and changed via AT & T Uverse and printer HP 5530 network will not recognize the wireless router information.   Well, the new cartridge arrived and I got the same message. I called the IT company I have dealt with 15 and told him about the problem. They sent a technician who inspected the receptacle for the cyan cartridge and with a flashlight and his right hand, explores every inch of the cavity. He drew his hand with a piece of black plastic no more than a quarter of an inch long. It's on the right side of the floor of the cavity, completely backward. When he reinserted the cyan cartridge and turned on the printer, MESSAGES of ERROR NO MORE! I am so relieved and so embarrassed at the same time where I couldn't find this little piece of plastic myself.

• HP LaserJet P1102 CE651A does not recognize the new toner cartridge

  I installed a new hp for my Laserjet P1102 toner cartridge, but still get the message "install the black print cartridge"and the orange light blinks.  It worked fine until the toner ran out.  Have tried to reinstall the cartridge and you are using a compatible cartridge, without success.  Can I do, or do I have to repair the printer that appears to be a case to send far from a reconditioned unit?  I am disappointed that he didn't after intermittent use of less than 18 months. It was purchased as the reviews said it would be great for printing of volume, but I have not at this stage yet.

  I had the same problem. Remove all paper from the tray. Make sure that no paper is started in the printer. I then replaced the toner cartridge and it was recognized. It seems that if the paper is launched to feed into the printer, then the new toner is not recognized.
