  Here are the different ways to reinstall vista

  Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

  they do it for a nominal cost of $

  also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

  you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

  Ask them of the exact key sequence

  or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

  Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

  they contain all versions of vista

  I don't understand. What makes you think the reader 'is not compatible' with Windows 7? Windows (or any other OS besides) sees no external hard drives as "compatible" or not...

  Hi, I have a unknown sign in the upper part of the display (between the battery sign and date).

  It is blue and looks like a bubble of dialogue and in the upper right corner of the dialog bubble, there is a red star. It also says "1" on the left of the bubble. I can't click on the sign.

  It must be some kind of message, but what kind? It is not a voice message that I initially thought it was.

  I just installed an hp F4480 printer, my roommate gave me.  My OS is Windows XP.  When I try and print or copy something the printer looks like it's printing and the paper passes by like it is printing but nothing comes out on the page.  Perhaps is out of ink, I guess, but I don't know how to say and I don't want to spend $50 to get a new non-refundable ink cartridge to see.  I did a print test page and the only thing that came out was a light that said the Page of Test printer Windows XP Blue cap but nothing else was on the page.

  It's really a problem of HP, not a Windows problem, and you should look for the HP Support help site.
