Printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus works but the Scanner does not
I recently bought a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. My previous laptop is a Toshiba also upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. I have a printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 more all-in-one printer. The printer/scanner works fine with my laptop more older but with the new laptop that I can't get to the printer. I am not able to get the scanner to work. I reloaded the software several times but the scanner still does not work. The scanner works fine with laptop more old, even if it has the same operating system. I get an error message that says "Scan of the computer is turned on. You can start a scan from the printer. Your computer is not listed as an available computer control panel of the printer. If please restart your printer and try again. "Can anyone help with this?

The proper functioning of the printer and Scanner is the direct responsibility of the producer of material
and no windows. There are hundreds of these devices that work correctly on Windows 7 if
those who don't have no drivers and other interfaces which are not compatible to Windows 7 should be
written correctly. Of course many older devices are not supported by their creators for later
Versions of Windows. Microsoft passes but does not write drivers and interfaces
Printers and Scanners need to function properly. So, the manufacturer and no one else, is totally
Manager to see if there are interfaces and appropriate drivers.
Many device makers do not write new drivers and interfaces for older hardware because either
they cannot support the new methods or because they want to sell new hardware.
Personally, I don't think that Microsoft is lying because they also say that device manufacturers have the
Omos unique to provide the necessary compatible drivers and interfaces.

Since I have installed 8.1 (pro), I can't use my 8600 software Pro for scanning the computer (via USB). It seems that there is no communication with the printer regarding the scanning software, but printing as usual.
Tried to use the HP printer Assistant: when I click on the button "scan a Photo Document or", I get a message "inaccessible Scanner. Also restarted the printer.
When I try to scan from Photoshop, the system first finds the printer, but it fails to connect.
Update HP says that my system is up to date.
HP Print and Scan Doctor 4.2 concludes and tells the printer on the welcome panel and seems to be able to communicate with him, up to a point.
It gives me a error 'pilot' (sorry if is not called in English - he takes over my keyboard language, which is French and says "Pilot error") and says that no communication could be created between the printer and the driver for scanning, and I have to restart the computer...
So I did and revived the software of the doctor, who gave me the same error message. This time, I clicked on 'Ignore' and let things. He ran a "Scan" Test twice and said that everything was going well or had been repaired. But strangely nothing on the printer during these 'tests '. And in the end, as he offered to do a scan test myself, I clicked on OK and I got the error message "inaccessible Scanner" again.
Then I did my scans on a USB key, as I have done a few times already, and has gone very well. But I'd be happy to have this function "Scan to computer" back. How?

I use McAfee (All Access - Total Protection). All green. I did some research using 'Paint', 'Windows Fax' and 'Scan' and checked all the results using McAfee: 'does detect any items that require your attention.

I checked services: dependencies are OK (RPC is in the WIA Service dependencies). Both services are "Running" and "automatic". I stopped and restarted WIA. No change.
I launched a sfc/scannow:
Before that, I changed the USB (a new one): no change.
AND THEN: I unplugged the USB cable connecting the port (USB3) standard (directly on the rear panel of the motherboard) and plugged into a PCI USB3 card. And all was well with the scan.
Do you think this says something about my motherboard (Asus X 79 Deluxe brand new) or on the Officejet?

I read the corrective action of 24/09/15 to HP Community@Felix_B to remove my HP printer previous (see the info solution reference below). He has worked to eliminate a group of print job corrupted. However, the pop-ups started continue. The two pop-ups State "there was a problem starting C:\Program HP HP Officejet Pro 8600\bin\HPStatusBL.dll. The specified module could not be found. Can you please help me remove?

File Exploer type %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start menu Startup into the address bar and press ENTER.
Delete the shortcut to monitor alerts for Non-Existing printer ink and the error should appear is no longer.

I want to change the value print factory set in the default print setting. I want the documents I send to the printer via AirPrint to print in black and white, not color. But the 8600 by default is always color. Sometimes, I am able to change this setting for individual tasks, but sometimes I can't. I wish that the default to be always in black and white. Is this possible?

AirPrint provides all color configurations, but only allow printing in color... all available Airprint parameters are listed in the What are the printing options are available? section below:

I've only had the printer for a few months. Initially, had problems with the network connection that has been resolved by manually inserting the IP address outside the DHCP range.
I now keep getting a scanner mesagesaying is not available. I try and turn it back on, but it does not work
I have run the analysis doctor and followed the instructions but it is unable to solve the problem.
I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and who does not.
Here is mention of the IP address, but as I had all the problems before I am reluctant to interfere with the IP that the printer itself is OK.
Nothing has been changed on my system, I have not actually used the scanner to date but notice all of a sudden the error message on my toolbar and then found that the scanner will not work.
I would be grateful for any help.

I worked my way through all the suggestions and nothing worked.
For the moment everything is OK, I've installed a new driver of network and turn on the printer before starting the computer well.
I cross my fingers, but it is very worrying that I had all these problems of network with a new printer.
The paper is in their but he does not notice.
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see your HP Officejet 8600 more does not recognize the paper in the tray. Do you get any error messages? I see you are using Windows 10, did this happen after having upgraded to Win 10, or was it a problem before?

I have a Mac the OSX Lion version 10.7.3 (11 d 50) I recently installed this printer. I printed the other documents in color without problem.
Now, I'm trying to print an invoice with my company logo. The X in the logo is an image that has different shades of blue, but it prints other items on the invoice that are blue. It also correctly print the watermark in blue.

It turns out that I had to change my color matching print settings to make it work. I went under correspondence of colors and changed the option provider corresponding to ColorSync.
This automatically replaced by the profile glossy color Brochure instead of paper simply. It's a shame as this used toner and does not allow you to print a copy of the project.
I tried a couple of the other profiles, but so far they use as much toner, or does not print the logo. I was subjected to time constraints, so I had to stop experimentation, but once this project is completed, I will try the other profiles to see if they work.
Each morning feeling breaks down until I have restart the printer. After that, everything works normally. My daughter has the same model with Windows 7 and having the same problem. Only, it started a few weeks ago. Is there a solution for this?
Or check in the printer "Auto off" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check the properties of your printers.
Make sure that it cannot be disabled? Use the built-in Web server on the web to check.
Canon Toolbox4.9 cannot connect it. Each time, I followed the instructions and put back driver and Toolbox (in the process, I have to restart my computer twice), it works for a while. But when I restart my computer once more, no link once again, and I need to uninstall and install all driver and toolbox4.9 again to make it work temperarily.
I use windows 10.
This simple fix I found online worked for me:
Start > in the Run dialog box type. Services.msc
Scroll down to Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
Right click, select Properties
Verify that the startup type is set to automatic
Click the journal tab of
Make sure that Local System account and allow service to interact with desktop is activated. Hit apply.
Click on recovery... Click on the window next to the first failure, scroll to restart the Service. Hit apply.
As a MF Toolbox work and stay working even after a reboot. Only problem is Windows Fax Scan no longer works, but I can't use MF Toolbox.

Sound is played through the speakers, but the Bay internal microphone and external microphone device receive no signal. Windows recognizes these devices, but the volume on the sound Panel Monitor is inactive. In addition, the webcam works fine.
I just reinstalled the operating system and everything worked fine before this date. I installed the driver IDT High Definition CODEC (same driver as before) and the Device Manager indicates that it is up-to-date and functioning normally. I am running the same OS as soon as before reformatting (Windows 7 64-bit).
Yes, these devices are turned on and yes I have checked the noise levels of these devices.

Update: when I try to run Sound Recorder I get an error message: could not find an audio recording device.
Solved! I ran HP Support Assistant, and he recommended that I have install a BIOS update, I did. After you restart, audio input is recognized.
It is my second attempt to get help. First aid made it worse. I had been unable to print from my printer wireless to my MacBook Pro, iPad, or iPhone. After 20 hours I managed to do print from a cable (it sees my network but none of my devices can see). So I posted here asking for help and was told to uninstall the software, repair disk permissions, and then reinstall the software. But when I downloaded the new software that my computer would not install it because it says it's for Mac system 10.7 or less and I 10.10. So now I can't print anything at all. I need this job. Please help me to fix it for real. I can't take this more.
In fact, HP support did not help at all. I finally fixed it myself after a lot of trial and error. The answer was that the printer software was incompatible with the software on my Mac. I removed Rowmote and it started working again. Weird, Rowmote had not been a problem before, but it can be updated. I was told there was new software of the printer of February, but when I went to the driver page with the link that the person a condition he had as the old one. So if he is really a software it should be provided to users. Thank you, they were attentive, though, and I received several phone calls.
