printer is not visible on the network

I have traveled, but could not find anything that matched my problem.

Here's my problem:

The HP LaserJet 5200 dtn and PC are both connected to the router through an ethernet cable.
A configuration page have been print the printer successfully with it's statement of Control Panel

When you install the software, I adapted the printer name and IP address based on this configuration page.
Always the printer cannot print or be seen from the PC.

* Note: this problem happened ONLY after I formatted my hard drive.

Problem solved.

The reason is that the IP address of the printer is attached to 192.168.2.20 while my router is 192.168.1.1.

So after I changed the IP of the printer 192.168.1.20, it works.

  • Ubuntu PC not visible on the network

I have a pc Ubuntu (10.10) in the same workgroup as a pc Vista (Home Premium). The Ubuntu machine can 'see' the Working Group and the machine Vista and actions. The Vista machine cannot see the Ubuntu machine (it does not appear on the network), although it may be possible.

Network discovery and sharing are enabled on the Vista machine and have shared folders. Samba is installed and working OK on the Ubuntu machine.

What should I do to allow the machine Vista access folders on the Ubuntu pc?

This seems to be true for Windows 7 so it probably works for Vista as well.

Machines of Ubuntu do not seem to be visible on the nerwork unless you have really shared a folder on them...

(just did this on my Ubuntu Netbook...)

  • Phorosmart d 5510: printer does not connect to the network upgrade

    A combination of problems:

I recently updated my broadband and also bought a new computer

Today my printer has stopped working. I tried to reinstall, but my desktop computer, or laptop can connect with him. I checked this is the connection to the server, but it will connect with the SSID of 2.4 ghz. WiFi on my computer works with the SSID of 5 ghz. I guess that's the problem, but the printer will not recognize or find the SSID of 5 ghz

    Hello Dudley151,

Thanks for stopping by the HP community! I see that you are facing problems with wireless connection. You have changed networks and are unable to get the connected printer.

Yes, the problem is HP printers are not compatible with the 5.0 GHz networks.

To get a better understanding, take a look here: wireless printing Center

  • SPA942 not visible to the network after factory reset

    Hello

A while ago someone at our office a factory reset on one of our Linksys SPA942 phones.  He thought that it worked (it worked flawlessly; but our router has decreased. Great).  The sad thing is, from the factory, it did not work.

The problem is that no matter what we try - DHCP or static IP - we do not seem to make this device visible on our network. As in, type us its IP address in a browser and do not see the Setup page.

We have tried everything we can think of.  Subnet mask is correct. Addresses DNS and IP - PBX (for not they should really make a difference) are correct.  I don't see what the problem is.

Can someone please offer a suggestion, before go me crazy? !!!

    Thank you very much.

    Jarrod

First of all, thank you for your response. It prompted me to do some play. Here are the results, in case anyone else having a similar problem (a cable by a novice/cheapskate) stumbles across this post...

We don't have a SPA9000. Simply, we have a Belkin router wired to four points:

    1. downstairs IP - PBX - work

    2. downstairs SPA942 & PC - both work

    3. downstairs SPA942 & PC - both work

4 floor SPA942 (does not work) & PC (work)

So... all PC connect perfectly to the Internet and the network, as do both phones down.

Following the principle of your simple suggestion ("make sure that it is correctly connected to the network") and the first rule of tech support ("is the computer plugged in, sir?"), I decided to reject the hypothesis that the handset was at fault and check if the connection upstairs was to blame (even if the PC we have up there connects very well).

Bingo! Telephone three works when it is plugged downstairs. Phone two, which worked fine at the bottom, does not work on the floor.

So now I know what the problem is... but have no idea WHY the problem is. Why don't the floor point network working perfectly for each device I care to plug in - office book server, ATA, fax, you name it - and not for the SPA942?

I changed all the cables around the router, in order to verify if there was something wrong with a specific port. That has not changed anything. Assume that all router ports are fine.

So what does this leave... the cable? Seems unlikely, but all other possibilities have been rejected.

So, I put the phone on the floor downstairs and plugged directly on the router, using another length of cable. Knit then all three phones.

Look closer to the floor and found wiring that it is three separate lengths of CAT5, joined with connectors RJ45 base (suppose cabler could not to allow/couldn't be bothered buying a cable length).

Last question... it is likely one of the lengths is a cable cross/patch... that all the devices other than our SPA942 are smart enough to understand this and to compensate accordingly? How the office is wired, it is very tedious and precarious (12 foot ceilings, etc.) to get in there and change the cable lengths, but obviously do so if it is the likely culprit.

    Thanks again,

    JD

  • OfficeJet Pro L7580 will not hold settings network by hand... not visible on the network

Yes... Once again... Another question about the famous OfficeJet Pro L7580 all in one.

I can't write all the IP settings and get the machine to save.  No matter how many times I try, it's always defaults to "automatic" and when I print the network settings page I get all the relevant numbers as 0.0.0.0.  I tried the network diagnostic tool, I have read all the instructions, I am a network expert.  I searched this problem on Google and all I see is to throw this thing in the trash.

I also downloaded the official patch from HP for Windows 7 64 bit network, but when I try to run this fix, it is said that the patch is not provided for Windows 7.

Should I trash this thing or is there a fix. ?

  • WLC 5 GHz active SSID not visible in the available networks

We use WLC 2504 with 2 AIR-CAP2702I-D-K9Access Points. I am facing a problem of slow performance with customers active wifi (Macbook Pro). As all the clients that we use are computers laptops Macbook Pro who takes supported 802.11ac, I created a new WLAN (SSID) with Radio 802 11 a only to force all laptops to use the 5 Ghz band to check that it makes the difference. The SSID is not visible as a network available on the client if the radio SSID is set to "802. 11 a only"if it is marked to broadcast the ssid. '802.11ac' is also enabled in the network "802.11a/n/ac" categories of wireless.

That means my Access Points do not support the 802.11ac?

Yes, the Country is set to US which is not correct, Does it make any difference?
As Leo does, that's the problem. Configure the appropriate country code where this access point works (appropriately by the detail of the AP, India). Hello trj'hwma,

    Thank you for the question!

It's discouraging to know that have problems you with the local file and print. As I understand well you cannot connect to the local file and print when the domain controller is not available because the network connection.

  • hp 8600 printer cannot be contacted over the network and the printer is not enabled.

hp 8600 printer cannot be contacted over the network and the printer is not enabled.

the HP software installed on the PC on the floor. Print wireless from PC upstairs and the PC in the basement on the network for the last month up to yesterday

Now to receive above - two error messages cannot be contacted ove RL network and the printer is turned off.

Reality - the printer IS on and the PC on the floor can print to the printer.  Network on the printer symbol says it is connected to the network.

a reason any PC in the basement all the cant suddenly find the network and the printer?

    Hello

The first thing I would do is follow step 6 in this document to set a static IP address: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02817031
When it askes for the DNS information, enter in Google DNS. Preferred DNS = DNS Alt = 8.8.4.4 8.8.8.8

This could increase the stability of the network connection to the printer downstairs.  If this does not help, let me know what OS is on the computer causing problem, because that could cause a problem?  Other than that, you can check the quality of the signal you get form the network and see if this can be a problem.

  • Network printer will not work with the new router

Just changed routers and now cannot print on Officejet Pro 8000 A809, which is connected to the router ethernet.  On Windows 7, download a message indicating that the printer 'cannot be contacted over the network.  Tried unplugging printer ethernet cords and power and reconnect the Self Test and Configuration network pages printed OK, but still cannot print.

Before I saw this solution, I decided to try to uninstall and reinstall the printer.  It worked.
