printer not shown in devices and printers - teacher of windows 7, 32 - bit

I am running windows 7 Professional, and my parallel printer (hp laserjet 5 p) does not appear in my list of devices and printers. I can also access via my LAN.  It doesn't, however, work very well as my default printer. what I have to do to get on the list, I can change the attributes to share?

launch printmanagement.msc, it is the tool provided by the spooler team to administer local printers

Apparently the devices and printers will fire this printer on your computer if the parallel port is configured for the SPP.  If you right click on the computer in devices and printers, you can see the menu item printer properties there.    You can change the configuration of the BIOS of your computer.  If the parallel port is an addition on the map please let me know the manufacturer.

But frankly printmanagement is a better solution.

  • No printer not appearing in devices and printers in Windows 7

This is quite disconcerting, and after a thorough search, I can't find an answer to work.

Basically, I installed a printer on my machine here Win7Pro.  The printer can be printed from various applications.  However, the printer does NOT appear under devices and printers.  The printer appears under print management.

The printer is an Epson color Stylus 2200 connected via USB.  The computer is a Dell D620 Laptop.  Win7 has been properly installed - no upgrade.  The printer is visible (for example) of Corel Paint Shop Pro X 2.

Anyone has any ideas what setting I need to enable the visibility of printer under devices and printers?  Is there something other wrong here?  It's easily fixable?

UPDATE: I just added a shared printer (connected to a WinXP machine brother 7040) networking for this laptop Win7 and it isn't too visible under devices and printers.  However, what is different here is that this printer is also not visible under the management of printing.

Network connections are not in print management.  They should appear in printers and devices IS very disconcerting.  Normally, this will occur if the print spooler service is not running, but then your local machine would be displayed with a red indicator in printing management.

I guess that you have a standard USB and not a parallel converter cable USB cable.

Check the security settings for the properties of the printer.  Make sure that your user account is listed at least print access.  Devices and printers opens with the standard user security token.

  • Printers are not appearing in devices and printers in Windows 7

I just upgraded from Vista Home Premium (x 64) for Windows 7 Home Premium.  The upgrade went quite well, but none of my printers did not work after the upgrade.  The software warned me that for my Brother HL-1240 driver could be a problem, so I wasn't surprised, but my HP Inkject 2230 Business also did not work.

The two initially appear in devices and printers.  But I deleted and reinstalled to get the upgraded drivers.  As I did, I realized that I had given wrong directions LPT ports to two printers.  However, now, printers do not appear in devices and printers, but appear when you access via other software.  I need to remove so that I can redirect the output to the correct printer, but can not find anywhere to remove.

    Help!

    Steve

Most likely devices are appearing as part of the computer or the parallel card in devices and printers.  Do a right click of the side card or computer, if you have a printer properties menu item is the printer you are looking for.  If you have ultimate or use Pro printmanagement.msc whenever you need to change something with local printers. • My printers are not displayed in devices and printers

When I click on devices and printers appear none of my printers.  I need to remove a printer that is installed on a computer crashed accidentally got checked as a default printer.  When my used printers appears and I deleted a printer he would show back up again.  Now, I'd be happy if I could see them listed.  Windows runs to look for, but no icons never appear.

I need to access my list of installed printers to manage!

    I'm confused.

Each machine can have a different default printer - so why would you need to remove the printer to a device has crashed? The fact that the aircraft crashed had a particular printer as default does not affect any other machine.
You are now working on a new machine?
If Yes, have you actually installed your printers? (Are they not magically...)
  • Printer appears online in devices and printers, but in offline mode in the print dialog box

After I plugged an inkjet printer from Canon iP4000 in my computer running Windows 7 SP 1 Ultimate 64 - bit edition, the printer is displayed correctly in devices and printers as a printer online but appears offline in print dialog common used by applications.

Sometimes, I am able to print despite the problem, but as a general rule, the monitoring software will say that the printer does not Canon.

In addition, a WiFi adapter sometimes loses the WiFi connection and is unable to find all the networks.

    Tried many things:

    • Uninstall of the printer
    • Manually clearing print jobs
    • Reset
    • Unplug the printer from a USB hub and connect directly to a USB port on the monitor

I can not easily plug the printer to the computer directly because of the locations of the case of the printer and the computer. I tried to connect the printer directly to my ThinkPad and the printer does work very well in this situation.

This who can I try to do at this point?

    > modifications

N ° the problem occurs even after a new installation of Windows.

    > wired / wireless

    Wired

    > Error message

    N °

I already tried all 4 of the links.

The printer is dead and the 'solution' is to Canon printer in an electronic recycler so buy a Brother laser printer that takes in charge of wireless network.

  • Unknown PC shown in devices and printers

Original title: does anyone else have access to my computer or is a microsoft program?  The name of the PC / multimedia is Tina.

When I opened my device and printers today, I see that a (pc) device under multimedia that is unknown to me?  Author is Microsoft and the State is in offline mode and the properties are unknown.  Does anyone else have access to my computer?

    Hey Jeannie,.

Unless you have given access to your computer to someone, there is no way that someone else can access your computer.

Devices and Printers window shows the devices that are plugged into the computer. Usually, the first PC icon you see will be the name of the computer. Make sure that it is not the name of the computer.

-Type of Panel in the Search and then click on system and security category and choose the System.

-If the name of the computer and the name displayed for the PC icon in devices and printers are the same, then you need not worry.

If it's something else, then go into devices and printers, click with the right button on the PC icon and click on remove device. Restart the computer to ensure that the changes are applied.

  • Floppy drive icon not shown in "Devices with removable storage" in Windows 7

I have a floppy drive connected to my motherboard, and it has been activated on my board Super IO Configuration in my UEFI.  I have a hard drive with Windows 7 installed, and a hard drive with Windows XP installed.

In Windows XP, in the window my computer , under "Devices with removable storage", my floppy drive icon here and I can access the drive.  But in Windows 7, the floppy icon is not there, and when I type "A:" in the search bar, I get "the system cannot find the drive specified."

I checked the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices registry, and I see the A: drive among the mounted devices.  I checked my Device Manager window, and I see 'floppy drive controllers' in the list, but not "floppy drive", I see in Windows XP.

How can I get my floppy drive activated or reactivated in Windows 7, with the floppy disk icon showing?

Never mind.  I received my floppy drive in Windows 7.

    Here's what I did:

I'm back in my UEFI and disabled the floppy controller in my Super IO Configuration and starts in the two Windows operating systems.  The floppy drive, of course, disappeared in Windows XP.

I tucked my UEFI and re-activated my floppy controller.  Now, the drive appears in Windows XP and Win7.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620 appearing does not in devices and printers

    Short computer news:

    Computer 1 - ENVY HP dv7 running 64-bit Windows to 8.1

    Computer 2 - Dell XPS 12 running 64-bit Windows 8

I recently bought a new 8620 Pro of Officejet and currently am having problems actually use it.

I have already installed the driver for long from the HP website, but the printer does not appear in devices and printers. Not only, I'm unable to send print jobs to the printer from my computer.

However, the thing that is most troublesome is the appearance of the printer in places such as Device Manager and the print dialog box. I would like to remind that even using the print dialog box or print through any application (E.g. Microsoft Word) in fact the print job never crosses.

I already reinstalled the driver several times only to get virtually identical results. This problem only seems to occur on my computer main use who WANT a HP dv7.

I have however a second computer is a Dell XPS 14 where I can use the printer very well.

With the results of the SFC is not not a complete success and the issue be isolated to this computer, I think that it is time to perform a Refresh of the Windows 8 operating system.

It would be wise to perform a backup system to be on the safe side.
