Help please.

Hello @alexm,

I would like to help you today with "server busy" error that you get when you try to print or scan to your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer. However, in order for me to provide specific troubleshooting steps I have a few questions for you.

1. what operating system are you using on your computer?

What is my OS?

2. is your printer connected via USB cable or network?

In the meantime, if you are using a computer Windows can I run printing HP and doctor Scan? This tool will run on your computer and "fix print" or "scan fix" questions for you. The Print and the doctor analysis tool will scan your computer for different connection, driver or software conflicts and try to resolve these conflicts for you.

HP Print and Scan Doctor

Please let me know if this tool solves your problem. Also be sure to reply to this post with your operating system and the type of connection, so I can provide additional troubleshooting steps. Good luck!

I get the same error and cannot find a way to solve the problem.  Unplug/turn off does not help.  I have recently replaced my ink cartridges, or empty ink cartridge slots in the printer, so I do not know is not the problem.

I replaced the black cartridge and the message went away. I printed out several pages of test, and it works perfectly now. Why the error message told everything "replace ink?  In any case, I'm closing this message now - I hope that it will be useful to someone else.

  • Having a problem with my printer Officejet 6600

I get the following error message. "Impossible to scan, copy or fax. I am still able to print from the computer, but cannot scan at all or make copies directly from the printer. There is also a note on the screen of the printer who say "scanner error" rebooted several times. Any help appreciated because it is less than a year.

«Generally, the message "scanner failure" is caused by either a bug in the firmware, or the scanner lamp out.» There is little you can do when that happens. The document below will guide you through a few steps that will try to clear up the error. If this does not work, you will need to replace the printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • OfficeJet 6600: Officejet 6600 & compatibility of Yosemite

Printer Officejet 6600 and Yosemite are entirely compatible? When I upgraded my MBP to the Mavericks, I lost some features with my old 5600.  I'm thinking of buying a new MBP and don't know if I want Mavericks or Yosemite. Now, I have the 6600 and I don't want to lose once again features.

    Hello

The printer is fully compatible with Yosemite.

Add the printer to your Mac in Printers & Scanners, the latest drivers will be installed from Apple servers.

Then install the HP Easy Scan and you will be provided with all the features such as the OCR, Panel before scanning, etc.

The HP Easy Scan application can be installed from the following link:

  • Portable printer HP Officejet 6600: need of digitization program

I bought my printer HP Officejet 6600 in January 2013.  I've installed all the programs on my old computer (Windows Vista). With the installation, I was able to print electronically, and there is a stock of Scanner program that allowed me to scan a Document or Photo to my computer. I recently bought a new computer (window 10).  I tried to use my HP disc to download these printer programs but was unable to do that because I got a message that the disc did not support Windows 10.  Can you help guide to get the programs of HP that I could access and download to my new computer which would give me the possibility to print electronic and scanned documents and photos (not via the USB port)?

Why don't you just download the software Win 10 out of the HP web site for your printer. A simple search returns... http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-OfficeJet-6600-e-all-in-one-printer-series---H7/4322968/model/4323587

    Hi @TallPaul1,

Since you seem to be able to print from other programs, I think that the question has something to do with Adobe. Maybe you will find the following article, I found the site useful adobe: PDF print troubleshoot | Acrobat, Reader.

If the problem persists, it may be preferable for you to reach the Adobe community.

  • OfficeJet 6600: iPad suddenly can not find wireless HP printer.

iPad, suddenly cannot find a working HP officejet wireless printer!  He worked recently.

    Hey @dburbage,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I understand that you are unable to print from the iPad using your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer.  I want to help you with this and can have steps that you need to restore this functionality.  What you describe, it seems that you use AirPrint.  I will answer my advice for this type of installation, but if you use ePrint, please let me know and I'll give the information you need.

You have confirmed that your printer is connected to your wireless network?  Button on the front panel of the printer the wireless icon and make sure that it is connected and displays an IP address.  If this isn't the case, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore connectivity.  If you are connected, powercycle your equipment as explained below:

    1. Unplug your modem/router
    2. Turn off your printer and your iPad
    3. Wait 60 seconds
    4. Plug in your modem/router back in and wait that he reconnect to internet
    5. Turn on your printer and once it starts up as normal, confirm that it is still connected to your wireless network
    6. Turn on your iPad

After completing these steps, you are able to connect your printer with the iPad?  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.

    Have a great day!

  • OfficeJet 6600: Failure of printer, no error code

Down printer, no code error.  Tried troubleshooting tips; Reset no has not worked and cleaning of copper on the ink cartridges, not working anymore.   Printer 3 years so out of warranty.   This printer is in a holiday home and I remove the cartridges in the winter.  Is this a problem?  Is there anything else to try, or do I need a new printer?  Tried to submit the form to contact HP 3 times for nothing helped... the site could use improvement.

Remove the cartridges to store the printer for the winter is a major problem - which cause the printhead not replaceable to dry out, leaving probably clogged ink residues.  In the future if you have a printer with separate ink supply and print (like the Officejet 6600) heads the cartrdiges never be removed from the printer for more than thirty minutes at a time, and the printer should never be put off with the cartridges removed.

The following may help recover the printhead (maybe 10% chance).  Turn on the printer, remove the cartrdiges impression and drip hot water on the screens on the print head which would connect the ink cartridges.  I put about 3 to 5 drops in each screen.  Let it sit for a few minutes, then replace the ink cartridges.  Run three cleaning cycles in quick succession the façade or the Toolbox.  Is there an ink at all on the page?  If yes let the printer sit overnight, then repeat the process.

OfficeJet 6600. Works as a printer, but not able to start the scanner.

I am facing a strange behaviour of my camera. I tried to find similar problems on the forum, but did not succeed.

I started it 2 days (near my 5610 old which seems to have problems of aging). I use a Sony VAIO PC, OS Win7-Pro, updated.

Running the appliance following the instructions of the poster. Presents the installation CD. Wireless net was successful and the screen of the device is to give the corresponding IP address.

But this IP has realized the configuration SW is not recognized. I tried thousands of times, switching and on different devices (router, printer and pc) in the order required, uninstall and reinstall the device.

However, despite the property intellectual not recognized the device functioning as a "printer".

But I need to use it as a scanner.

Procedure by selecting the "scan to PC" screen of the device (only available as an option) I get the message "to ensure that the feature is turned on" and I am prompted to 'open the printer HP SW,... '. ».

Go to Windows and by clicking on "HP SCAN" in the HP/HP Officejet 6600 directory I get the a warning window stating "HP Officejet unidentified 6600.

    Can someone, please?

    Thank you in advance.

  • HP Officejet 6600 print wireless help

Attempt to try to solve my HP Officejet 6600 to print wirelessly on my network and I tried just about everything I could think of (including the rattling of my printer on the network to see if they are on the same network, they are) and my printer still does not recognize any signal from my computer trying to get a print of my computer job. I have already confirmed that my printer working via a USB cable, but I wish I could put my printer to another room, connected to a power source and be able to print to it outside of my network, but not luck so far. Can someone help with this problem?

My OS is Windows 7 Edition Home Premium SP1, if this is useful.

    Review of my last post...

Wow, regardless of the Printer Spooler service has been, which seems to have done the trick. Also went and made a new WiFi printer (when the USB cable is installed), and it was labeled differently. Somewhere in one of the configuration menus had something on this subject (assuming it's a hostname?) It said HPB96E1W (HP Officejet 6600). It was also the name of the printer that appeared when I installed it as wireless under printers and faxes. When I did as just a USB connected printer, it appears just as "HP Officejet 6600". Maybe a problem of labelling or something to do with the Printer Spooler service? No idea honestly but the printer works now move it to another part of the House as long as it captures my wireless signal. This problem is completely resolved, and I have also 2 different connections to work with incase I ever spend my printer back near my computer. Thanks to all who have posted in this thread with ideas help, much appreciated. Moderators or anyone who may lock this thread if they wish. I'll post another thread one day if I have problems with the printer again.
