How to print an envelope on an officejet printer model 6830 using an iMac 10.11 system. Correction, I'm now up to system 10.11
Hello
The printer is not compatible with Mac OS x 10.5, there are pilots made only for Lion (10.7) or a vewrsion later.
You can find the system requirements below:
Try these steps and see if this can work, however a generic as driver being used may miss features and will not work as expected:

HP Officejet Pro 6830: HP Officejet Pro 6830 fails to print color
My HP Officejet Pro 6830 stopped printing in color. All cartridges are new HP cartridges. I took all those out and reinstalled them but even that prints black. I have done a clean print head and alignment but still only prints black. I went online and downloaded all of the software for this printer and still only black print. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
I have another 3 months on my warranty.
I called HP Printer Support nd everything I had to do was go through all 3 levels of print head cleaning. Now my HP Officejet Pro 6830 print in all colors.

OfficeJet Pro 6830: color ink is not printing
We just received our 6830 Officejet Pro a few months ago and feel sometimes but not often. Yesterday when I tried to print, printed only black things on the page. None of the colorful text printed at all - not even in a different color or a shade - so it appears none of the color ink cartridges has been used. The printer indicates that all four cartridges are about 50% full.
Things that I've checked or tried:
The computer has the choice of the color selected.
Color copy gives the same result - no color.
I checked the vents and they don't seem to be blocked. I stuffed them with a needle just to be safe.
I hit the bottom of the cartridges where the ink comes out and ink on my fingers. They are not dry.
I'd clean the print heads.
I tried putting the printer off, and then restarting the computer.
The "test page" and the "print quality diagnostics page" do not print with any color either.
The printer indicates that it not there no new updates.
Color printing perfectly fine a few weeks ago, no sign cartridges drying up. It is under warranty, but it's our third of these printers and really, I prefer not to be yet another replacement if it is possible to solve this problem! (The first two were a high pitched noise all the time while it is plugged). Thanks in advance for advice.
After the execution of the cycle 'cleaning print head' repeatedly, the color ink is now working!

Printer HP Officejet Pro 6830: OS 10.6.8 and Officejet Pro 6830
I just bought a HP all-in-one Officejet 6830 Pro printer, fax, scanner, copier. I connected it to my laptop, a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8. It copy in color, but it will not print from a file in color. He apparently correctly scan in color, but not to print the scanned in color. How to print in color? I can't upgrade my system because I will not be able to access critical software. What recourse do I have? When I bought it was incompatible with some operating systems, there is no warning!
Hey @cshein,
Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.
I understand that you encounter an incompatibility between your old version of Mac OS and your new HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help. I can certainly sympathize with you on this one - even if your Mac is not old in real terms, Snow Leopard not blessed with a specific driver for your printer. I have a workaround that you can try:
The steps I posted in another thread here suggest using the generic PCL driver for the Mac. This thread is about a former printer used with Yosemite, this article indicates that the similarities between the latest version of Mac and Snow Leopard are close enough to my advice work with your devices. Let me know if this approach to configuration works and allows you to print in color.
Note that the generic PCL printer driver probably won't make you analyze the features of the computer. If you want to scan without using HP software, click here to get suggestions from HP on how to do it. Note that this article 10.7 Mac users - oriented steps must always be relevant as Apple Preview, picture Capture and printing and scanning app are all common Mac OS applications that probably are Aussies in versions older Mac OS.

HP officejet pro 8600 more printing envelopes chemistry
The normal printing process seems to work perfectly, only when printing envelopes #10 they live I have the problem with the crooked not printing any way how the envelope is inserted according to the Setup (Microsoft Word).
To date, the following steps were taken:
1. the version of the firmware is up to date: CLP1CN1322CR
2. all the rollers are clean and act freely, no paper jams/particles anywhere - front or rear.
3. the envelope seems to come out all right (looking directly at the front that it falls on the paper tray.
4. different types of envelopes #10 were tried.
The twisted print template is not consistent, sometimes it low angles differently and sometimes the implementation of the address of the sender and the recipient are different.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
PROBLEM SOLVED
The result is: READ THE MANUAL
I had been assuming (incorrectly) OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus would print the same as my previous HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 envelopes. This model allowed me to print envelopes by putting on paper envelopes, I already had in the tray, put the envelopes on the side right side down. He had always worked before with no problem and the envelopes printed correctly, even if you could use the status bar and adjusted the sides to accept the correct envelope size (never tried).
On the 8600 model, you MUST remove any paper in the tray and load the envelopes in the Center, adjusting the sides to the size of the envelope. In ADDITION, you must insert the face or envelopes down with the edge of the flap that is pointing to the right, a bit like the graphics on the bottom of the stage show.
IF YOU USE MS WORD TO PRINT ENVELOPES AND LABELS, IT MAY BE CONFUSING BECAUSE IT SHOWS 6 POWER AVAILABLE, IF YOU CHOOSE THE ((QUATRIÈME DE LA DROITE) METHODS, IT SHOWS THE ENVELOPE IN THE MIDDLE AND THE EDGE OF THE FLAP FACING RIGHT, THIS CAUSES THE IMPRESSION OF BEING UPSIDE DOWN ON THE ENVELOPE.)
That's what you should first read the User Guide (manual) for for the 8600 printer printing envelopes:
Print on envelopes (for Windows, p. 39)
Load Media (p. 24)
Load the envelopes (p. 25)
My frustrations have completed cockpit error.

OfficeJet Pro 6830: replaced warranty for printer and cartridges of manipulation
My Officejet Pro 6830 AiO printer doesn't have 3 months after purchase (power supply is ok, but it no longer lights). I contacted HP support and a replacement printer is on the way.
Unfortunately I replaced all ink cartridges 'setup' 4 with brand new just a few days before the failure of the printer, so I asked the Lady to support (good person) if and how I can recover the defective device.
She told me to take off the cartridges of the faulty unit and retain them for the replacement printer, but was to serve once the "setup" cartridges sent with the unit will be out of ink. Now, I have some doubts:
(1) when I take my full semi the defective printer cartridges, I fear that the ink will start to dry... should I cover the opening at the bottom of the cartridges with tape? Will it be enough?
(2) the ink in the printhead of the defective unit will start to get dry as well. The defect of the device is clearly in electronics, while the print head has worked perfectly. Isn't bad to leave the print head is clogged by dry ink? I still have empty cartridges "setup" out (differentiation 'stock' of waste...) should I put them on the print head?
(3) the defective printer does not turn so to loosen its cartridges, I need to manually pull the cart of the printhead to the center position. Is it Ok?
Thanks to all those who will clear this point to me.
Hi @RickyGold,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you have questions about your printer HP Officejet Pro 6830. I am happy to answer these questions for you!
To answer your questions:
- To properly store the cartridges, I suggest you put them in an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag or Tupperware. Make sure that the contacts on the cartridges are not touch anything.
- I wouldn't worry about the obstruction with the defective printer printhead.
- I suggest to try to move the cartridge door manually, but don't force it, if it will not move freely. If you are unable to get the cartridges, please contact HPtelephone support for further assistance. As they would be able to replace the cartridges for you. (After you fill out the information, you will receive a phone number.) If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. Problems printing envelopes on HP Officejet Pro 8600
For some reason any I'm more able to print envelopes from a Word document. The driver continues to operate as if she couldn't pick up the envelope in the paper tray. I have reset the printer as indicated, clean the rollers according to the instructions and still no luck. I tried this on 2 of my HP printers same two 8600. Running the Vista operating system.
I see I'm not the only one with this problem. I try to print return address from the company Office Depot #10 envelopes of window I've done several times in the past...
Updated the firmware, drivers and all that but still no luck.
Any other ideas?Thank you very much.
Recommendations also on one new other than HP printer.
Hello @cafe104 , welcome to the forums.
I read about how you can no longer print envelopes from MS Word to two Officejet 8600. I have some suggestions for you that can help and also a few questions.
- Having a problem with printing from other programs?
- You have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet (avoiding bars, surge protectors, etc.)?
- Did you run the print and Scan Doctor, and what were the results?
- Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer?
- Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall MS Word?
- Try to update the firmware of the printer: get the latest Firmware and updates
I could be wrong, but if you have tried printing from 2 printers and envelopes do not print, there is a change the problem is not the printers and related software. Try changing the method of 'feeding' on how you print on envelopes. I've seen that work in my past history of troubleshooting and can work for you too?
Here is my example for you, try these two feeding methods:
Let me know the answers and results and we can take it from there.
Thank you

My printer makes a ringing sound when a print job is completed. I want to turn it off but cannot figure out how. It is certainly not my computer printer. Sound is disabled on my laptop.
Hello @Cwalts,
Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.
I am familiar with the chime you are referring in your HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help.

HP Officejet Pro 6830: HP Officejet Pro 6830 @hpeprint address not printing
I just added my new HP Officejet Pro 6830 to my home network. The printer is set up for my network with a Wi - Fi connection. All updated software has been installed. My operating system is Windows 10 (64-bit).
When directly connected to my network, printing and scanning to my laptop, android or iPad works very well.
However, when I'm away from my home network, I am remotely sends print jobs to my address [email protected] which is related to this printer with no result. No error, no engravings, nothing. I tried emailing my android phone, my iPad, even your laptop via Web site from my e-mail. Nothing.
Because the printer works well when I'm inside my network, is there something I have to during installation? Do I need to make changes in my configurations?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hey @CTFaninNJ,
I see that you encounter some problems with the help of ePrint to print from your mobile devices on your Officejet 6830 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.
Here's what we will do:
- Turn the printer off.
- While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
- When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
- On the printer, click web services icon in the lower left corner of the display screen.
- Compare the address of the ePrint printer to the ePrint address as it appears on the app. If it is different, you must change the address ePrint in the application on the device.
- Try to send a document ePrint by sending an email.
Please let me know if this allows you to ePrint or if you have other questions. If not, have a great weekend!
