Printer Windows Vista C4485

Can someone tell me how to reset a perm "incompatible cartridge" error.  The software has been reinstalled and the ease of diaganostic a perfect print product print.

Any suggestion is welcome

Hi Jamieson,

All of a sudden my printer recognized the new black cartridge.  Why it took so long for the indication "incompatible cartridge" reset is a mystery?  After the alignment process cartridge the printer works fine with the new black cartridge installed.  I inserted the original again cartridge and the "incompatible cartridge" reappeared.  This cartridge has obviously failed, which is supported by the fact that the printout of diagnosis is poor.

I'm very happy to get my printer working again.  Thank you for your help.

  • After buying a new printer Windows Vista is unable to find it on the network.

original title: adding Vista network printer

I am running Windows Vista on my laptop and connect to a network home wireless. I replaced my old printer (which I could access the network) with a new one. I tried adding a printer (using the guests) but Vista could not find the printer. I can use Explorer via the wireless network, but it still can't find the printer. What I am doing wrong?

    Dave!

    Hi Dave,.

    1. You receive an error message when you add the printer?
    2. What is the number and model of the printer?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?

Try the following steps to add the network printer on the computer.

    (a) printers open by clicking Start , clicking Control Panel, hardware and soundand then click Printers.

    (b) click on Add a printer.

    (c) in the Add Printer Wizard, select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

    (d) in the list of available printers, select the one you want to use, and then click Next. If your computer is connected to a network, only printers listed in Active Directory for your domain are displayed in the list.

    (e) If prompted, install the printer driver on your computer. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (f) complete the additional steps in the wizard and then click Finish.

The last time this happened, I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software and that doesn't seem to help. Then, for some inexplicable reason, impression began to work. It has now stopped working again. I can scan the Windows 7 laptop but not print. I tried all the troubleshooting tools that I could find without success. Thanks for trying to help.

    Hello-

It could be caused by a couple of things:

    1. firewall on PC or router.

2 interference (microwave, cordless phone base @ 2.4 Ghz)

    3 distance from router

    4 corrupted printer driver.

Turn off the firewall you have and you move anything that can cause interference to router.

If none of the above solves the problem, I'll have to install a different printer driver.

    Click Start.

    Go to devices and printers.

    Click Add a printer.

Add a local printer. Create a new Port, then choose "Standard TCP/IP port.

    Click Next.

TypeRegeditdans in the box 192.168.1.12 IP address or host name. (uncheck the box 'Interrogate the printer')

    Click Next.

When the printer list opens, click windows update. (it takes a few minutes)

After the box appears, choose HP (not Hewlett Packard) on the left and choose "Deskjet 990c" on the right.

Click Next, the default value and end.

Try to print using the printer Deskjet 990c.

    Hi TedF,

You may consult the following link which deals with topics of paper jam.  Click here  I recommend that you follow all the steps in order to ensure that all areas of the printer have been erased.  A flashlight can be very useful.

If this is not enough, you could try to do a complete Reset of the Semi.  If successful, this reset the default printer and clear the memory.  If the printer was on a wireless network, it should be removed and would need to be reconnected.  If you want to try it, I can send the steps in a private message to your Forums HP in-box.  I need you agree to not post the stages.  Let me know what you decide.

  • What is the purpose of the 'neighbourhood' of printing file in each folder Windows Vista user?

It does not printers or links to all printers, even if 7 printers are installed on the computer.

    Hi Casey,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Based on the information, you try to find the object of the 'Neighbourhood of print' file in the folder of Windows Vista users.

'Neighbourhood' of printing stores the path to the folder containing shortcuts to printers that you have added to the computer.

These files are called a junction. Junctions work as shortcuts, but in the case of Vista look like standard folders with an arrow. A junction is intended to reorient the programs that access to their to their equivalent of Windows Vista. Since junctions aren't really folders, it is not possible to access, and any attempt to do so will give an "Access denied" error.

    C:\Users\$user$(User Name) \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Printer shortcuts.

    Hope the helps of information.

Sure. What version of Windows you are using few questions. You need a
program of processing and most of them can operate under any
    version of Windows.

The best-known word processor is Microsoft Word, which can
be purchased either by itself or as part of Microsoft Office.

My favorite is WordPerfect, which is less expensive than
    Word.

You can also use one of the free, such as word processing programs
LibreOffice (http://www.libreoffice.org/). It's supposed to be a clone of
Microsoft Word, and although I don't use it personally, I hear him very
good things about it from others.

And another choice, I mention with reservations. WordPad comes
with Windows. If your formatting etc needs are very modest,
You can use it. But note that WordPad is really more a glorified
as a real word processor text editor and has very few options.
If you do a lot of processing in the future, you should
you get a real word processor. I advise you to WordPerfect, if you
are ready to buy one or LibreOffice if you want a free.

  • Add a network printer by using different credentials in Windows Vista Home Premium

    Hello

I am trying to add a shared network printer (from server) of a computer running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. The user must authenticate by using different credentials, but I can't find a way to force Vista to connect with different credentials.
In Windows 7, it's easy, I just add an entry in the credentials manager and everything works, I can connect to the server, access to all of the actions that the user has access to and add the printer.
In Windows Vista, I can't do that. "" If I try to add a network of credentials in the "stored user names and passwords", I can only add a "a Web site or program identification information. "A credential to Windows logon" is greyed out.
When I try to access the share in Windows Explorer, I get an access denied. Instead of having Windows pop up a dialog to authenticate, he tries just to the help of the currently connected user credentails, which isn't what I want.
If I try to add the printer using the Add Printer Wizard-> add a network printer, when I enter the path to the printer, I also have an access denied instead of bring up a Windows authentication dialog box.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!
