printer won't print, if you please, emergency aid

Hello

Uninstall and reinstall the printer, using the latest drivers directly from HP.

There are also troubleshooting steps.

If that fixed it, ask in the Forums of HP's Support.

  • Solutions of workaround for missing Officejet 6500 a (E710a-f) features?

I recently bought an Officejet 6500 a (E710a-f) and found out that the driver does not have two important elements, I had supposed wrong would be included, as they have been available on Deskjet printers for many years: print preview and manual duplex printing. Manual States simply to print the odd and even pages separately - has a challenge at best when I'm printing that does not offer as an option and it doesn't seem to be an option to preview before printing at all.

First (manual duplex printing): I've seen ads for the 6500 has more (E710n) which include a manual double-sided printing, so I wonder if the 6500 is able to use this driver if I install it without causing other problems. If not, anyone know of other alternatives for double-sided printing?

Second (print preview): unless my work application has a preview feature before automated printing, other than printing to a pdf (such as CutePDF) creator and the review of the layout in a viewer (like Adobe Reader) PDF, is there a simple way to get a preview of the text before printing?

Finally, I believe there is a good reason why these features - available on Deskjet printers for many years - were left out of the Officejet 6500, but I have not yet found. If someone who understands print drivers can explain it to me, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

( Updated 26/07/11: 1) Re duplex printing: I found a video on the HP support Web site, which offers a solution in two steps for double-sided printing: first, print the odd pages and even pages (a two-step process). It would be great, however, if there is a driver who would do this in one step, as there has been on SEVERAL HP Deskjet of printers in the past. Is there an existing printer driver that makes manual duplex printing it will work with the Officejet 6500 a?

    (2) re print preview: no luck at all with "Print preview." Still, any suggestion would be appreciated. If personal HP monitors this forum, please let me know if it is a futile effort, or is there a solution to this problem. I lose a LOT of paper by not being able to check what the final provision of the documents will look like before you print!

    @ drbb01

I've been looking for a solution for several hours and finally found one!

I have a tutorial that explains how to install an alternate driver that can handle manual duplex printing.

The driver being used is the driver for the Officejet Pro K550 Series printer. But I don't know if you follow each of the steps in the tutorial to make it work. Unfortunately, the tutorial is in German...

If you still need information informed me an I'll try to translate the tutorial in English.

    My regards, Marc

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709n: New portable 10 Windows cannot print on Officejet 6500 E709n

Just bought a Dell Inspiron with Windows 64-bit 10.  Cannot do print on my Officejet 6500 E709n.

    * I can print to this printer even using another computer Dell laptop running Windows 7

    * I have installed and uninstalled the printer a couple of different

    1. With the help of the HP Officejet Full Feature software and driver http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Officejet-6500-All-in-One-Printer-series---E709/3...
    2. Using a detection printer 10 Windows "add a printer".

    The results are the same.

    • Never test pages print (no reaction from the printer at all)
    • Printing and scanning doctor detects the printer and all the controls are ok.  Test page does not work, but it will print an internal test page

Another symptom, if I right click on the printer icon and select "Printer Preferences", I get a windows error window:

    Hi @jhrhilltop,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that you cannot print after you install the printer on Windows 10. I will definitely do my best to help you. If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say thanks for my effort to help, click on the 'Thumbs Up' to give me a Kudos.

It does not resemble drivers for the printer installed correctly.

Run all the updates of Windows on the computer.

I would say to uninstall the printer software. Unlock the hidden administrator account, then install the printer on this account:

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted during the installation.
Go to your Start menu and in the box "search programs and files", type CMD.
CMD will fill as an option to search above, just right-click on it and "run as Administrator".
Once opens in CMD (command prompt), type net user administrator / Active: Yes and press ENTER.
Then, close CMD and then restart your computer.
When your computer is on the newspaper in the new account which should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
If your computer automatically connects to your account after reboot than to go to your Start menu, click the arrow next to 'shutdown' and choose 'change user '. Now log on to the administrator account, that we have just released.
Under the administrator account, install the printer software.
    Test the printer.
To disable the Admin account start at step 1 and type net user administrator / active: No..

    Test the printer.

Please let me know the result and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you.

  • Cannot print on officejet 6500 E709a of computer network

Today I tried to reinstall my software to print several times and I still can't to the printer. "Print Test page fails." The printer itself works fine on the computer, it is connected to a USB key. It works very well in my second network computer when connected by USB. The second network computer can see the printer on the network and appears to be adding correctly. He tells me is there and ready, but then gives me the error message when I try to print a test page. Nothing makes its appearance in the what is printing either the dialog box. My Network works fine with everything else. Troubleshooting all failed to produce errors. I am running Windows 7 on two computers, a major a 64 bit and 32 bit second. A third computer on the network, in another room, can find and print from the printer. So... any idea what prevents me to get this resolved?  Thank you...  Liz

A final update to the report...  I almost gave up the idea of printing on my HP printer from a computer on the network after you receive your last message. It always bothered me, however, that both firewall from Norton, which I intend to use, and the Windows Firewall, which I thought was disabled, had been activated when I installed the printer. As a last attempt, I made sure that Windows Firewall has been turned off, uninstalled the printer using the HP installation CD and clean up the registry. Then I reinstalled the printer again, and WOW, it works! This announcement, I'm just in case it can help someone else who had to rebuild his computer after a full recovery of the system to the factory status. My Learning: Norton firewall is not a problem, but Windows Firewall needs to be turned off completely. Thanks for all the help and the time you took to try to get up and print again.  See you soon...  Liz

I don't know how all this relates to MS Windows, but maybe you could try HP support regarding problems with your printer, for example.

  • How to connect to the HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer

I recently bought the printer portable officejet 6500 from costco. Initially, I have it connected via a USB port on my laptop and follow the instructions in the CD. I also activated the wireless to the printer. Now, I'm trying to connect to the printer from my office laptop. I have not installed anything on my office laptop. I went into Control Panel, printers and tried to add this printer. I'm assuming that, given that the printer is already selected for the wireless, I thought that I'll be able to see that when I add a printer. When I tried to add the printer its asking me a URL. I tried to get the printer Network Setup page portable officejet 6500, but the URL does not work. I need to install the CD that came with the printer portable officejet 6500 on my offcelaptop to make it work? Any help would be appreciated.
