printing of posters (tiling)

On the advice of a representative of Office Depot online, I bought a hp7520 because he/she says he did posters, but if that's the case I can't understand it.  It also said that most of the new printers nowdays do, but in the product discriptions there is nothing "tiling" or "poster" ability.

Hi cpsherm,

I understand that you are interested in tiling to print large posters. I found a site with useful information. Take a look and let me know if that helps. How to generate a mosaic copy. Two big utilities online.

I look forward to hear from you.

I had an HP printer and print driver had the facility to take an A4 document and expand it to print on sheets of 4 or more which, when ready and together, have created a larger poster. Unfortunately, this printer is dead, and the new printer driver doesn't have the same capabilities.

How can I find out in advance what HP printers have the ability to post mulisheet - it doesn't seem to be a simple way to ask HP support.

If not, is there another driver I can use my current printer - a 5200 HP all-in-one - or a piece of software that can do the same thing?

    Hello

All recent HP printers no longer offers print Poster, such models offered, but older.

You can try to set another pilot and check to see if that can help you:

    1. From the Control Panel, right click on the printer and select printer properties.
    2. Open the Ports tab and notice what port is selected, then close this window.
    3. Click Add printer, then press 'the printer that I want isn't listed.
    4. Select this option to set a Local Port or a network printer with manual adjustment, it should be the last option.
    5. Select the port used by your original printer in the list of existing Ports.
    6. Select HP FRO the component manufacturer, then search for select ad the HP Deskjet 6940 printer.
Note: If the model is not listed, press Windows Update and allow 5 to 15 minutes until the list of printers appears again, then it will be listed.
    7. Complete the wizard and ty print with the 6940 driver, you will find the option poster in the finishing tab.

    Kind regards

  • Large print displays

How to print large posters (tile) with a Photosmart 6510?  I have hunted everywhere and can't find the answer in the settings or any other place. Thank you.

    Hello

I had to dig a bit for that wasn't an option, I knew.

Under properties of the printer and features advanced, if you see the option "Print poster" below, then you should be able to reach the exit grand format you're after.

There are a few other information here about tiled printing which may be helpful if you printer is not the poster printing option.

  • How can I print multiple different .ai files on a single page in Illustrator CS6?

How can I print multiple different .ai files on a single page in Illustrator CS6? I have all the files organized by organizing Documents > tile all in the grid and I want to print files in this format, so that they can all be seen at the same time when printed on a single page.

General information, it's that I have 16 drawings of different CAD I converted and edited in illustrator. I do basically a plank-contact with all 16 drawings so that they can be examined on a sheet of paper after printing. Each drawing is in its own unique file but I did not understand how to put everything on one page for printing.

Try to do with the bridge. You cannot print all document tiled windows.

  • Cannot print from Photoshop CS4 in an iMac OS 10.6.3 to large format printer Epson 11880

Hello! I was wondering if you could help me with this matter.

Old computer: Mac G4 (acquired in 2002)

Old operating system: OS 10.4.11 (Tiger)

    Processor: Dual 1.25 GHz

    Memory: RAM 2

    Software: Photoshop 7

Material: Printer large format: Epson 11880 (64 '' large monster). Prints large posters, banners, etc.

As you can see, it's time for an upgrade...

    New computer: iMac

New operating system: OS 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard)

    Processor name: Intel Core i7

    Processor speed: 2.8 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of Cores: 4

    Memory: 16 GB

    Software: Photoshop CS4

Material: Printer large format: Epson 11880

Situation: We hung everything and managed to print on the printer 11880 2 times and printed two draws large format. On the third attempt, we encountered a serious problem...

Problem: After opening a file in Photoshop and it sends large format printing to the Epson printer, the file goes to the print queue of the printer and stays there for 6 seconds, and then it disappears. It does not print. :-(

What we have done so far:

    • We have ensured that we have downloaded the latest printer driver for your printer from the Web of Epson site.

    • The printer driver is correct. The computer communicate with the printer and we are able to run all of the commands Panel printer utilities. (check the ink levels, cleaning heads, etc.).
    • And Yes, the printer is correct, because we use it with the old G4 machine for about a year.

    • This problem got so frustrating, that we thought that something that we transferred during the installation of the computer could be the culprit. If at some point we have wiped the drive on the new computer and reinstalled the operating system and do not have all the files in any old computers in this machine. The computer has nothing else in it. Exception: Operating systems and Mac applications that come when the Mac out of the box. The only other program installed in Photoshop CS4 and the printer driver.

    • We wondered if it was just a printing problem, period. So, we added a small printer to the computer - and the old Epson 2200 we have. We have sent a file to the printer and there is no problem.

    • Perhaps, the file size would have been a problem? It does not matter. We can send a large file of 60 MB for the printer or a small photo measures only 8 x 10, and they linger in the queue for 6 seconds and disappear never to be printed.

    • Temporary relief came when we got rid of the preferences of Adobe Photoshop file. After got rid of the file and Photoshop which allows to reconstruct, we managed to print two large files to the printer. Then he failed once again. Trying to get rid of the preferences again, and the trick doesn't work anymore. :-(

    • Another temporary relief came when we created another user to the computer. On the new user account he printed new once or twice only to fail later.

    • And Yes, the printer will print from other Mac programs. If, for example, we open a file to preview and send it to the printer and the file will be printed. And Yes, we were able to print very large files with this method.

In the last two days, we spent 3 hours on the phone with the guys at Epson. They checked the driver, and because the computer seems to be to communicate with the printer and print from other Mac applications, they suspected that the problem is with Adobe.

We called Adobe once and spent 30 minutes with an Indian classmate who concluded that the problem is with how the computer manages the queue. According to him, Photoshop sends the file to the computer, and the computer seems to get rid of it. So he passed the ball and we were told that the problem was with Apple.

We called Apple and met for 30 minutes with a friendly technician who transferred us to a higher level of techno-geek. I spent 1 hour on the phone with Apple, and we tried everything. We went through to the knowledge base of Adobe and tried all the proposed solutions (see Adobe KB406452). It is with him that we found a temporary solution of deleting the preferences file, but the solution was short-lived. Finally, he thought that the problem was with Adobe because the printer is capable of printing from all applications EXCEPT Adobe Photoshop.

We called Adobe for the second time... and after waiting on hold for an hour together, we got an Indian technician, who bless her heart, had a very thick accent and had no expertise, in my opinion. It was good to collect data and it even made me share my computer screen so that he could solve the problem. After being constantly put on hold by him (because he had to consult with someone else), he passed the ball and said it was the problem of Apple. I just told her that it was also unlikely, because all EXCEPT Photoshop print programs. After trying what I consider a "Hail Mary" to REMOVE all printers in my library folder and replacing them does not, he recorded a case number to another technician from Adobe to call us in the coming days.

Because the technician that the above completely blew the library, I just erased and reinstalled the operating system. This time, I did not allow the operating system to date - on 10.6.2 (which comes in the box), 10.6.3. We tried to print using the 10.6.2 and had the same problem. :-(

Conclusion: I think it's a problem of Adobe CS4 does not agree with new Apple operating system. The Epson printer is fine, because it's a product that has been on the market for almost 3 years. What is disappointing, is that none of the companies wants the man to the top and say that this is a problem and that they are willing to work on it. Instead they return the ball to the new company.

I can't believe I'm the only person who knows this. If someone has had this problem and have you found a solution or workaround for it?

    Our engineer:

Looking at the rest of the thread, the user says "However, avoid us all of the computer color management or the printer when printing it right now."

If they use "No. Color Management" mode, I'm not surprised to see failures on the Epson, and that's what gets the note "Is not a valid color space" in the journal.

Use either PS color management manages or printer handles and things should be fine. Or use CS5 and things should be good.

  • Construction of the backbone in InDesign

I'm building a 40-page document that will require printing on the spine. What is the right way to set up the spinal column of the printer? Coverage is a separate document with back cover on spine left, in the Center and cover right? How calculated the width of the spine? InDesign will do that?

Yes the most simple solution is to create a separate document for the covers with the back on the left and front cover on the right. [If you have inner covers then do not forget to put inside the left front cover and inside back cover right.] You can create it to be a really wide page, twice the width of the inside as well as the spine. When you're this proofing or send to a customer in pdf format, it can be difficult to print using automatic tiling. I create a separate file of coverage and that the size of page to the width of the inside more than half of the spinal column. I then created the two facing pages document. This means that I can easily proof the front and rear covers on separate pages (or create a pdf file). For the final release to the press, the printer can print the file chemically to get two pages side by side.

If you have CS5 you can create pages of different sizes in the same document. So you should be able to add the covers and the spine for you document inner pages.

With respect to the width of the spine: talk to your printer. According to the thickness of the paper and how it is going to bind the document will affect the width of the spine. It would also be able to inform of how he would like in place you to put your covers.

  • Z5200 PS: white vertical stripes appear of some graphs when printing posters - Z5200PS

When you generate posters in MS Publisher or MS PowerPoint sometimes a graphic placed on the page will create a white band of non-printing the image width from the top to the bottom of the page.  The only printing in this range is the image.  Not all images have this problem.  The white band does not appear in the image or preview before printing in the program.  The white stripe appears only in the preview before printing HP and on the printed poster.

This has happened with several posters, but not all.  The images associated with the banding have been removed and the white band is deleted.  The images will be edited, resized and otherwise modified but still liaising with the band.

A poster done with MS Publisher that produces the white vertical stripes with a few images when printing to the HP Z5200 PS is saved in Adobe Acrobat.  The Acrobat screen image is OK.  In Acrobat print preview is fine.  But when generating the preview before HP Print or print, the white vertical stripes in the graphics display.

I tried everything I can think of.  Posters of MS Publisher look OK on the screen.  The problem occurs only when printing or using the preview feature before printing HP for the HP5200.  The files printed without this problem on our old printer large format of 500 HP.

Any suggestions on the cause or solution?

Thank you.  Your suggestion has provided a fruitful work around.

The PDF file was the same problem that the Presenter MS leader had.  Due to the size of the MS Presenter file, error messages have been generated when trying to convert it to a JPG file.

But, I went back to the PDF of the MS Presenter file and used Acrobat Professional to convert it to several image formats and attempted to print the PDF file of the file MS Presenter image format.  It worked.  It's a very winding road, but it has provided acceptable results.

    Thanks again.

I think Vista and XP drivers to have a similar capacity.

  • Printing/Page tiling?

I'm playing with Illustrator CS 4 and the print tiling is a little shake me up.  Here is my scenario:

Let's say I create a new document with A4 - size of work plans and I want to work in 2 lines 10 plans. I want to see the tiles printed on all work plans at the same time, but when I go to print (setup) I can't turn on the tiles (in gray).  If I use the print tiling tool, it does only for 1 work plan and if I go to view > show print tiling, once more than 1 work plan.  So my question is How can I activate print tiling on several work plans at the same time?

In the photo below, it shows the tiled floor of the page of a document originally drawn in Illustrator CS and there page tiles in all pages. I want that in my work plans.
