Probbok 4530 s: file system on the hard drive for HP Probbok 4530 s recovery

Hello world

I knew that the hard disk file system must be a particular type to allow for the recovery of the HP Probook 4530 s factory. The problem is when the narrowing of my drive, I changed to NTFS and I forgot which is the file format native allowing rocovery. This is why the recovery process does not work.

Anyone know what to do? Help, please... Thanks in advance!

NTFS is the native file for Windows 7 system. If you have added additional partitions and/or that you converted your hard disk from basic to dynamic that would be the cause of recovery does not.

Contact HP for recovery media.

If you live in the United States / CA, coordinated HP here.

Yes, you can reinstall Windows 7 OEM System Builder License on the new hard drive with the new processor.

It will not be a problem in this case, since you don't "move" installation, you are doing a new installation. The less it will take is activation of the phone, as you change the hard drive:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Replaced the HARD drive, discs of HP Win 7 recovery, load loop file employees or any windows boot device

    System: HP pavilion dv6-3155dx
    OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)

My son's computer was on the fritz. No Moose OS disks, so I bought a recovery disc for HP. Not good. Machine attempted to run records, but stopped far from completion due to HARD disk failures. HARD drive failed the disk test HARD Insider bios. Replaced by the new Seagate. Added also 4 GB of RAM for total 8 Gb. BIOS test the RAM and the HARD disk as good. Yay!

BUT, when running Windows 7 recovery discs, I get the "Windows is loading files...". "black screen with the loading bar, first quickly, then slowly." Can I get the promise of "Starting Windows", but it fails and the system seems to reboot to the recovery disks in an infinite loop. Black loading screen, to windows to count, to restart it, to the black loading screen... Again and again and again. I can F8 safe mode that just brings back us to the loop.

Somewhere I heard tell that there was a problem with the HP startup with a new disk or the recovery disks and get the file sp44645.exe from Cyberlink, put on a CD and boot from there. Got the file, set the bios to boot and "No boot device - insert the diskette in the book and press a key." Rechecked. I'm starting the CD player (otherwise why Windows Life recovery disks?)

Hmm. Bios sees the HARD drive. Recovery of Windows of DVD starts but loops. No bootable CD bootable file.

I'm a bit confuzzled (confused/perplexed)? Where is the real failure here?

Good news so far. Hope by now that you have managed to successfully recover (didn't see it in time to pray ). If you've had success, you can try reinstalling the extra ram.

  • Save the files and format the hard drive?

I have a MacBook 2012 mid pro and the hard drive fills up with data and applications, I don't want anymore. So I want just to format the drive and install a fresh OS x and only the applications and the data I need. Is it possible to just copy the folders with the data I want to save... on an external drive?... like music, movies, Documents... then format my internal drive and load El Capitan. When can I then copy these files on the original drive and have things work the same or improve skills?... when using Photos and iTunes and iMovie? I do not use Time Capsule... cause he will restore a bunch of stuff I don't want. Has any tried this? or have better ideas?

Yes, you can if you wish. Don't forget some features such as the preferences settings will be not recorded, unless you know where to look.  As for iTunes and Photos you must register the complete library of media files.

  • Dynamic hard disk (System) to the hard drive of basic

    Hello community,

My problem is that I can't convert the (dynamic) hard drive to a hard drive base.
I went to disk management. And I went to click on convert to basic. But it won't let me. I go to diskpart, and he says that is not empty. But when I look at the disk hard it is actually empty.
I don't know what's the problem with him. I just installed my operating system on my new rig and I wanted to mirror the hard drives. (2x1To seagate hdd)
I read that she had to be dynamic to do. But I guess it was bad because I couldn't always reflect the hard drives.
Any help would be amazing. and really apreciated.

The Windows tools provided for the management of the disks are quite limited.  Try to download the free program from Easeus Partition Manager of http://www.easeus.com .

    Good luck.

  • Subset of files stored on the hard drive suddenly missing in LR

My photos are stored on an external hard drive. My LR catalog is on my computer (a Macbook Pro). I upgraded LR 5 to 6 a month ago. No problems. I use LR a lot, and when I leave, I always save the catalog.

For reasons that I don't understand not at all, Lightroom is suddenly not showing all records dating from February 2016 photo. That is, the pictures I imported before then are all present and reported in detail. But all the pictures I imported (and published!) of February at the present time are missing from the library. I checked the hard drive and the image files are still there.

Of course, I don't want to re - import the missing photos (in thousands of them) and lose all my changes.  And I can't ask to Lightroom to find missing photos because they do not appear in the library. I am so at a loss for what to do.

I'll never be able to understand what has happened to the latest version of the catalog, but I opened an earlier version and all missing records reappeared. I'm very relieved. I lost only a handful of changes.

No problem. I think that the warning means that you will not be able to use Undo to bring back the pictures and it will have to do it manually. There is no risk of corruption.

  • Lightroom uses a library, or are files stored on the hard drive?

So, Lightroom uses a librbary to store photos and any changes made, or it updates the disk image files?

I had a Mac in the summer, but subsequently discovered that software Mac (iPhoto & Apperture) stores the images in a library owner rather than update the JPEG files on the hard drive. This makes it useless to me because I need to share files with Windows PCs, which means all the work done on the Mac it is lost (I know that I can export all images changed individually, but it is unfeasable). The lock-in Mac means also the backups are useless, because you need a Mac to read in the library of Apperture saved.

While hoping that Lightroom is easier to use and allows you to share images on the platforms.

    Thank you.

Or you can export the complete catalogue on an external drive and place it between the computers.  The catalog file is on the external hard drive, and all you have to do is double-click on it.

  • How much better the partition of the HARD drive for dual boot: Windows 8 and Linux

    Hello

I am a newbie in Windows 8, linux, Partition...

I want to use my new laptop with windows 8 pre-installed on the following:

Create a Dual Boot Windows 8 / Ubuntu
Create on my drive C (single disk on my laptop):

    * a partition for the system
    * one for Windows 8
    * one for data and
    least for Ubuntu OS

    My goal is:

-to install VmWare on Windows 8 and run Splat Checkpoint with virtual machines to make the FCTC laboratories.

to install GNS3 on Ubuntu for CCNP Labs but with GNS3 to access the files in the data partition

I have a Toshiba Satellite with 750 GB and 8 GB of RAM.

According to you, what is the best size for my scores?
Is there a better way to partition my C drive on my goal?

    Best regards

I don't know if this is the right section, sorry for that. Feel free to move this thread in the appropriate section *.

I think the size of partitions depends of the you want to use and install other software.
So if you have a lot of software which runs under the Windows System I recommend to choose a larger size to win 8 partition.

However, given that you have a 750 GB HARD drive, you could take 200GB for Win 8, 100 GB to Linux and the rest of the HARD drive size, that you can use for data.

By the way: I found Nice YouTube video how to create a dual boot using 8 Win and Linux http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Yd2jK-7Jg

    Welcome them

  • Preparation of the hard drive for ESX 3.5 install

I have downlaoded a trial version of ESX 3.5, burn a cd with the ISO file and tried to install it on my workstation intel.   The installation says that it cannot find a partition.

I understand that ESX 3.5 runs under Red Hat linux. I need to install Red Hat Linux first? VMWare is recommended? I have fedora 9

Essentially could someone indicate the steps needed to prepare the hard disk for installation?

My workstation is configured as follows:

1.8 G P4 with 1.5 GB Ram and 200 GB IDE hard drive.   I can install it on this system or do I dual CPU, & gt; 2 gig of Ram and a drive hard ide not?

Can I migrate between ESXi and ESX 3.5 hosts?

    Thank you

    Dan

    Hello

The installer ESX install basically 2 things. First, it installs the vmkernel and its Elements, and the second thing it installs is the RHEL3 based on GNU/Linux or the service console management appliance. The considered distinct elements and it will make more sense. ESX is NOT Linux. The kernel running on the hardware is the vmkernel. The vmkernel creates a virtual machine for GNU/Linux management machinery to run during the start-up phase of ESX. The vmkernel is an exclusive hypervisor. Also to be called Linux, the kernel must be blessed by Linus Torvaldis... If you really want the details about how ESX boots please refer to VMware ESX Server in the enterprise structure because it contains this information.

If you can not start ESX and then very probably not have a RAID/SCSI/SATA/SAS controller supported in use. This controller must be on the HCLs already reported in the previous posts.

Note that IDE is not supported in some way. Very few SATA controllers are supported. So if your "Workstation" uses the IDE or a RAID/SCSI/SATA/SAS controller not supported then your options for virtualization are limited to the use of VMware Server, WOrkstation or ESX from VMware Workstation.

  • Replacing the hard drive for HP ENVY 14 laptop

    Hello

I have a HP ENVY 14-1150ca Notebook PC with a SAMSUNG HM640JJ hard drive, Windows 7 service pack 1.  I ran diagnostics from the system at boot upward and got a "DST short": message failed.  Failure ID: RGDX02-5KC73T-XD6V4J-60RE03. Product ID: XG981UA #ABC.

Can anyone suggest that a replacement of the hard disk that I can order, or something similar or somewhat larger is fine.

    Thank you

    Suzanne

Only the hard drive model is a 640 GB drive.  I think that you can easily use a 750 GB drive with no problem, in my humble OPINION.  Depnding the merchant of your choice, Amazon - here are a few choice.  Or Newegg, HEREare good examples.

  • Replacing the hard drive for Satellite L300

    Hi people

I have a laptop L300 and the hard drive is about to give up.

My question is if I replace the hard drive with a new one I'll be able to get it up and running so I use the recovery disk I have Toshiba?

Yes, you can use the recovery disk to reinstall the system once more.
The use of the recovery disc will set the laptop back to factory settings.

  • Upgrading the hard drive for T43

I have a T43 I want to upgrade the HDD on.  Currently, I have the original 80 GB hard drive, but I would like to know if I could upgrade to a 320 GB hard drive.  I am interested in the ability, the speed does not necessarily.  My system supports a hard drive of this size?

I don't know what kind of information is required in order to call this judgment, but here are some of the specs of my computer:

    Windows XP (service pack 3)

    1 GB memory

Pentium M clocked at 2 GHz

    Thanks in advance!

With the latest version of the BIOS, you will be informed of the error, but the machine will start normally beyond this point.

There are two types of adapters ultrabay, one for PATA and one for SATA drives. No restrictions on what you can install in them, as long as the drive type is.

    I hope this helps.

  • Replacing the hard drive for HP Mini 1140NR

    Hello!

I need help. I have a HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam edition (NB134UA), which is unfortunately more under warranty. Recently, my hard drive has begun to fail. The original hard drive is a 60 GB Toshiba MK6028GAL 1.8 "4200 RPM PATA drive with a ZIF connector. I bought a new hard drive on eBay very similar: a 120 GB MK1231GAL Toshiba 1.8 "4200 RPM PATA drive with a ZIF connector. For some reason, the drive is not recognized by the netbook. I know it's getting common because I can hear it turn up when I turn it on. But when I try to enter the BIOS, it tries to read the disc (it is said that a primary IDE drive is detected), but ultimately fails to recognize the drive. According to the manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01631228.pdf), this model "supports every 4.57 cm (1.8 inch) parallel ATA (PATA) hard drives. I then updated the BIOS version e.16 F as he supposedly "solves a problem where the system can not be able to complete the hard drive diagnostic test (HDD) in the configuration utility in the BIOS for a Toshiba hard drive". This did not help the issue all.

My question is this: If this netbook isn't compatible readers of this ability, or did I just get a dud of a hard drive? I would need to know pretty quickly since I only have a limited window to return the player to the seller.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Domenico

Thanks for the update, I will cite this discussion here.

Unfortunately, Toshiba MK1231GAL cannot work in MBA. See the response from Toshiba:

    Dear Mr. xxx,

Please contact the Toshiba Storage Device Division of Toshiba Europe.

The MK1231GAH has a 4 KB (physical) block size - not to be confused with the size of the logical block, which can be selected when formatting a HARD drive.
The MK1231GAH block size is 4 KB and physics, and it is immutable defined on the set.
This makes the incompatible HDD for use in an application for laptop or PC/Mac/Linux. It is for use in the applications of (THIS) big electronic public only.

Good point with the data sheet, we´ll change.
