Switch your windows update setting to never check the updates temporarily
Restart the machine
Then you download this from your download folder run from there.

updates before running from the downloads folder.
Once it installs and restarts
You can reset your updates affecting everything you had before default =...

Problem activating windows 7 after a downgrade from windows 8
I bought a computer with windows 8.1 pro installed and I'm trying to downgrade to windows 7 pro.
- The license key for 7 I am using is used on another pc downgraded, as well as the pc that it originates
- I talked to 2 different people at Microsoft. The first says windows 7 must be uninstalled from the previous computer until I can activate it. Is this true? What the point of having a windows 8 license then?
- The second person told me to contact the computer manufacturer to obtain a license of windows 7. This is not an option for me.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

OEM Windows 8.0/8.1 Professional (Major) comes with downgrade rights.
Windows 8.0/8.1 Professional Retail doesn't.
For OEMS of Windows 8.1 a single system locked preinstallation SLP key is a unique 25-digit product key integrated in the UEFI BIOS.
For Windows 7 OEM SLP credits is entered from the installation media. This key works only if the markers in the BIOS are present, it is that the BIOS is checked by the OEM. For this reason, you need to an OEM license and support OEM installation.

Activator windows 7 error 0xc004f061
I have a Dell laptop that came pre-installed with Windows Vista, over time, it has been upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium (having the disc & box but cannot find the product key anywhere) and then to windows 7 ultimate (downloaded and have the key).
My machine got infected with a virus, where the only option was to erase and start over. I reinstalled Windows 7 from Home Premium disc I and selected Windows 7 ultimate, the version to install because it is what my last upgrade is.However when I enter my Windows key I get the 0xC004F061 error code telling me that my key cannot be used to install, only for upgrades.I tried a fix that was told to change the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE/0 via regedit, then slmgr-rearm for a prompt administrator, restart, and then re - enter key.I also tried to use SLMgr commands to insert the key.So in summaryI have Windows vista key but no disc software (pre-installed)I have upgraded from windows 7 Home premium, but no key (lost)I have the final key to upgrade to windows 7, but no disc software (download at any time upgrade)Any ideas?NaomiYou cannot use Anytime Upgrade If the base license is not activated.
You will first need to make sure that the base license is enabled.
If it is a version upgrade (not anytime upgrade), you can try the following:
If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.
How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Click on drive Options
Select the disc/s click on Delete
Click new
Click on apply
Click OK
Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation
Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click the link x days before activation.
Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
Enter the product key
Click next
Select the Activation of the phone
Click Next when you enter your key page
Select your country
Click Next, call the number listed
Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
Click next to complete the activation.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

Problem activating Windows XP Pro on a Dell Dimension 4600, which originally had XP Home
I have some difficulty to activate MY PERSONALLY PURCHASED VERSION of Windows XP Pro on a Dell Dimension 4600 workstation that initially provided with XP Home. I have TWO Codes of 25 character key true = 1 The printed on the sticker on the computer AND the one supplied with the disk I bought for my laptop that was stolen last week. I entered two key during the windows process codes activate and they the system tells me invalid or incorrect product key code. I WAS talking with a Microsoft Tech Rep on the phone trying to solve this problem and has been disconnected when put on "Hold" and now cannot get through to a real person again. CAN SOMEONE ' ONE/SOMEONE' HELP ME PLEASE?
Hello
Both your XP, the laptop and the Dell operating systems will have been oem licenses. OEM licenses are tied to the computer that they were originally installed on. In regards to the Pro license you can see in your report where is says Windows license Type: OEM System Builder.
The only XP version that can be legally charged to your Dimension is one that has been provided with it by Dell, i.e. the XP Home license.
activation of character for home 25 codes do not work with the Pro, the reverse is also true.

The copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, you have installed is an OEM SLP license that should only be preloaded with a new PC. You seem to have installed a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that uses an activation exploit that bypasses the product activation.
We know that it is because you are using a generic motherboard
In addition, he is a well known Windows 7 Ultimate license which has been used all over the web:

OK, so my laptop Lenovo is about 2 years old. All the rubbish on it he was slowing down and I didn't put any bloat ware on it, so I decided to go with a new copy of windows 7 instead of lenovos recovery and install all necessary drivers myself. If everything went well until what I tried to activate it. When I try to activate, it says code error 0xc004e003, and said that the key is not valid. I tried to phone activation and MS says the same thing that the key is not valid. Whats is funny when I click on the button that says buy a new key, it says "Welcome to windows, because the version of windows installed on your pc is valid, enjoy...". "It doesn't give me even a link to buy. Any ideas?
You cannot use a key OEM_SLP with retail media.
You MUST use the key of your COA sticker.
You must change the product key to the one on the COA sticker on the case of the machine (or in the battery compartment), using the link change the key of product at the bottom of the system properties page.
You may need to activate by phone.
