Problem connecting to a shared folder on the Mac of Windows VMFusion 4.1.3

Hi - I use VMWare 4 and improved 4.1.2 to 4.1.3 last night, under Lion 10.7.4. Everything was fine last night, connected via VPN from home. Venus work this am, stopped, then restarted on the corporate network and I get and error message in Windows saying that I don't have permission to access the folders that are on the side of my Mac OSX, appearing as a shared folder on my Windows System. I get error message saying:

\\vmware-host\Shared files is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if him have access permissions. MNo network provider has accepted the provided network path.

I do not understand that as in sharing > shared folders I on the Mac with my files of reported data and also below that I mirror folders "Selected Documents".

I'm running out of ideas - I thought that's all I needed. Have you tried closing down and rebooting, but still do not see my side Mac and my data.

Any help much appreciated!

Barrie

  • .. .connect to a shared folder on a MAC with director 11?

    Hi all

I developed a project a few years back that work as follows:

This has been designed to work on Win XP, using Director MX2004

    Server installation

All media when installed on a server and the folder that they resided in a was installing as a shared folder.

    Workstation installation

A projector has been installed on a PC workstation, as well as the Director of projector, a txt file has installed, the txt file contained the unc path where resided all media files. that is all Director & video file etc.

The projection file could get the unc path, read the text file and open the appropriate dxr file.

    It worked very well.

    ___________________

My question is, now I'm upgrading to Director 11 software, it is necessary to work the same way on MAC OS x. The only difference in the system will be that media files will reside on a MAC server and workstations are MACs (Macs Intel, who use the latest OSX).

How can you connect to a shared folder on a MAC with director 11?

Its not "\\share_name"... 'afp:\\share_name' should work?

I get the cannot find "myfile.dxr" alertbox

I hope that I have explained myself well enough.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

I can't do since Director 11, but you can do with applescript.

In the AppleScript ScriptEditor, paste the following code, and then save it as an application (like "Mount.app") in the same folder as the projector.

Then the Director, to write the volume path and the password

    That is to say. AFP://username:password@VolumePath/sharename

in a text file (like "Mount.txt")

Then use the command open the Director to turn up the volume

    Open _movie.path & "Mount.txt" with _movie.path & 'Mount.app '.

    -applescript below

    on open (dittos)

the value volume to readFile (dittos as text)

      if (volume is "") then

    return false

    end if

    VR;

    Turn up volume

    Return true

      on error

    return false

    end try

    Open end

    on readFile (theFileName)

    Try

the value theFileRef to (open access file theFileName)

      on error

    return ""

      end try

    Try

    game theText to (read theFileRef)

      on error

    game of theText to «»

      end try

    Close access theFileRef

    Return Letexte

    readFile end

  • Cannot access any shared folder on the network of windows 7 Professional

    Hello

I have a very strange problem.

I have a home network with 4 computers.
I can share files from any computer to the other.

Recently, I bought a new laptop Lenovo E530 in with Windows 7 Professional installed on it.
The problem is that I can't access any shared folder on my home network by '\\com-name '.
I cannot yet access the folders on the computer that is shared from the inside, by specifying there name with the prefix "\".
However, I can ping or even make remote desktop on other computers on my network.
I can also access shared folders on my Windows 7 Professional from other computers.
Looks like there is something wrong with the configuration of my OS from Windows 7 Professional blocking access to any shared folder on my network.
I get the following error message:
    Windows cannot access \\comp-name
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, it could...
    Error code: 0 x 80070035
The network path was not found.
I tried to use the button to diagnose, but without success.
    Help, please

  • Files saved to merge "Shared folder ' between host Mac OS and virtual Mac OS not opening not.»

    Hello

If I save a file in the folder "Shared" my host Mac OS machine merging, I can open it only on my host machine, but not inside my virtual machine to Mac OS.  In addition, it shows the incorrect file type in the virtual machine (just 'Document') not the actual file type.

The reverse is also true, if I record a 'Shared' file of Fusion of in my virtual machine, I can open it only on my virtual machine, but not inside the host machine.  Again, it shows the incorrect file type in the real (just "Document") not the file type host machine.

The files must be for the most part very well, because they will open in their own environment of the shared folder, but the Mac OS in the Middle against a reason any won't open them.  Suggestions?

    Thank you

    -Jeff

Solved...  I just need to add 3-digit extensions of file names (for example, .jpg, .psd, etc.) that normally may not be needed in your own environment, but apparently are required when files are in a shared folder.

I can get in the same shared folder on the XP computer.  I also have to shared folders on the XP computer Vista computer.

I can also get to the shared folders on the XP and Vista computers on the Windows 7 computer.

The only problem is learning to the shared folder on the Windows 7 computer Vista computer.

The folder on the Windows 7 computer is configured to be shared by everyone.  Password sharing is disabled on all three computers.

Any help would be appreciated.  If there is more information, I can give you, let me know.

  • 8.5.1 LabVIEW Student Edition - differences between the Mac and Windows versions?

    Hello

I just bought the student of LabVIEW 8.5.1 version and I use Mac OS X 10.4.11. What are the biggest differences between the Mac and Windows versions, since the box came with a CD of installation of Mac and a Windows DVD Installer?

    See you soon

Looks like you got the LabVIEW Student Edition Software Suite DVD.

It comes with 6 boxes to tools, and the TME product, some (or all?) of those who are windows only (at least 8.5), for example:

    • Toolkit Digital Filter Design
    • Modulation Toolkit
    • SignalExpress
    • ...

Since you have 8.5, you are missing also a few basic things that only recevied at the 8.6MAC support, like Mathscript, Control design and Simulation and native 3D graphics.

How can I find the MAC for Windows 7 Starter Edition address?

You use the same method as for all other versions of Windows:
    1. click on start, then type the three letters cmd into the search box and press ENTER.
    2. Enter the following command and press ENTER:

    ipconfig/all | more

    Search for the word "physical".

    Here's an alternative:
    1. click on start, then type the three letters cmd into the search box and press ENTER.
    2. Enter the following command and press ENTER:

    ipconfig/all > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\IP.txt".

You can now double-click the IP.txt file to your desktop and review at your leisure.

  • How many connections to a shared folder is allowed in the different versions of Windows?

I have Windows 2000 with a shared folder to which only up to 10 computers can connect. Is there a way to increase this limit, and if not, is this upper limit in later versions of Windows? Thank you.

This is the limit on all but the server versions.

  • Shared folder on the network publicly without using homegroup

I try to share a folder on my network so that anyone can access and modify files in this folder. But I also have other actions, that they do not have access to the. Homegroup is not a viable alternative. The only solution I've seen in the past is to create a connection on my PC to allow users to open a session, however, allowing them to open a session locally is not an option either.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Dave7

You can try the following to see that you can allow users to access the share using anonymous authentication:

    1. Right-click on the folder you want to share, on the sharing tab note the network path
    2. Now go to start and find "Local security policy" and press on enter
    3. "Local policies", then click on Security Options
    4. Find the policy: "network access: Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users" and set the setting to "Enabled" and click OK
    5. Now find the policy: "network access: shares that can be accessed anonymously ', enter the network path you noted in step 1 in the text box, and then click OK
    6. Now open command prompt, you can search for cmd in start search and press enter
    7. Type the following command and press ENTER: gpupdate/force
    8. Now you should be able to access the share without the need to enter credentials, but if they try to access on the other hand they will be invited with the connection dialog box

If please test and let me know if it works, or if you have any problems, as I suppose you are a local administrator on the computer.

Please note that this will reduce security and can open an entry point that could easily be exploited, as anyone on the internet can potentially access share and emptying of viruses and trojans on it.

    Thank you

  • Shared folder for the data flow

We connect our FMS3 with our SAN with shared folders, the path to the shared folder is '\\.host\Shared Folders\SAN1\ '. And we have tried to make this shared folder as 'z': disk, then modified Application.xml as "< streams > /;" "Z:\vod < / stream >", but the flow still would not play with the error "ConnectionError". We also tried to modify Vhost.xml, still no luck.

We configure the authorization of SAN for FMS read only, do we need to change it to read and write?

I'm recognizing all possible solutions. Thank you.
