Problem connecting Windows _

Gina Logon: application to 0X17e8884 referenced to winLogon.exe error

If I click OK or cancel, the reboot of the machine over and over again until
I click the F8 key and choose one of the options there.  I ran RegCure,
CCcleaner, MalwareBytes anti viurs, anti virus Avira, scoured the Internet
looking for a remedy in addition to do a system restore.  Restoring the system
does not work on my machine.

The Virtumonde virus was found by Spybot about 3 months ago and I thought that he got rid of him.  I ran the tools that are available just to be sure and
nothng was found.

So, is this a problem with not enough memory or is this something else?  There are about 900 MB of memory on this machine.  I use Windows XP.
Thank you.

If it was still possible to save this installation of Windows, in all probability running RegCure and CCleaner registry now impossible tools.

Backup your data to an external drive (use a Linux live CD like Knoppix if you do not have Windows) and do a setup/clean restore to the Windows factory condition.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

The cooling system of your PC is almost certainly needs clean up. Probably done better professionally, ideally the place that you can get a recommendation for, especially if it's a laptop. It is possible that you could get wrong thermal events triggered by a faulty hardware.

Regarding the "IM32FAX. DIL not found", it is probably related to a previous device printer or fax machine not properly uninstalled. I doubt that you will be able to address it until you fix the cause of your thermal events.

  • Problem connecting Windows 7 Home Premium

I'm having a problem with my computer: when booting, it goes to a screen to login to an account named "HomeGroupUser$".  I tried going to manage groups of users to delete, but it shows up here, just my (Administrator) account and the guest account, where the power is off.  I googled this problem, but all the shots suggest to delete the account. As indicated, I can't delete the account.  I do not know the password for this account, because I am sure that I never created the account.  I tried the homegroup password, and that did not work.  I don't have a password set on my account, as I am the only one who uses my computer.

Can someone help me with this please?

    Thank you!

I was able to delete the account.

I have typed in netplwiz, check mark the box "Users must use a username and password to use this computer", deleted the account of $ HomeGroupUser, unchecked the box and saved the changes.  Restarted, and it went straight to my office as it should.

I'm just curious to know how the account was created, and why the computer has chosen this account start instead of my account.

Thanks to all for your responses.

    Hi Becky,

For you help I would be grateful if you could answer the following question:

What operating system is installed on the computer?

This could be due to the problem of Windows Mail settings; I suggest you to check incoming and outgoing, settings

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • I have a problem connecting to the internet. When I click on the internet it goes straight to windows media player

Hi I have a problem connecting to the internet. When I click on the internet it goes straight to windows media player.

    HI Maria,

If you are using Vista, go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll down to EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations.  Once done, do the same for LNK entry.  This should restore your programs and get the Internet icon to go to the internet rather than WMP.  If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.

If this does not work and it started recently, try a system restore to a restore point BEFORE the problem started.  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, see:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, see:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial56.html.  If the first attempt fails, try an earlier point or two because the problem may have started before you noticed.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Everyone around the Malaysia has problems connecting to Windows Update Server?

For 4 days, I have the problem using Windows Update. Updates is never to download completely, Windows Update will just stop after failing to download the updates.

Then I tried to download updates and apply them manually; VS2008SP1ENUX1512962. ISO (Visual Studio 2008 Sp1) is one of the things that I download. This 800 + MB file I've downloaded 3 times on the Microsoft Download site and they are all corrupt. I got a copy uncorrupted file using torrent finally. There are others who are corrupt as well.

That's why I'm thinking, is there something wrong with the server of Microsoft Update, or the Malaysia connectivity problem? I'm getting an average of 100 Kbps download speed of site except Windows Update - which starts at 30 kbps and after 15 minutes drops to 5 Kbps.

    Hello Siang Hong,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

What is the address of Web site, that you try to download the update?  Looks like you may have an infection of viruses or malware on your PC. Just to be on the safe side, I would say that you follow the steps in these links barely pull on this issue.

  • Problems connection Canon SX280 WiFi for Windows 7 (64-bit)

I hope someone can help me.

I recently bought a Canon SX280HS that has possibilities of wifi, and I'm having a problem connecting to my laptop.     I use a laptop Dell Inspiron N7110 running Windows 7 (64-bit).   It connects to the internet and a printer wireless via a pretty new without and problems at all Netgear wifi router.    This laptop also has Intel (R) My Wifi Technology, and I can access the utility to it via the control panel.

After installing wifi set up the software provided with the camera, I first tried to connect the camera via the Netgear router.   After putting in the correct encryption key (I did this many, many times), he search the device, but it is never and eventually times out with a "communication error" and "device not found."

I was ready to return the camera to Amazon...

But then I tried to connect the camera using the Intel(r) my Wifi utility.   I activated the technology, put in the correct encryption key, and the cannon appears on the users list, showing its MAC address and a wifi signal strong.   The camera then sees the name of my Dell laptop, but when I try to connect it, all I get is 'connection '.  Finally, it ends with a "communication error" and "connection failed."

At this point, I find the wifi on the camera works properly because it clearly links to the Intel(r) my Wifi on my laptop.

Can someone tell me how to configure my laptop to allow the rest of the connection?     Oh, I tried this many times with my anti-virus IT and OFF and my firewall ON and OFF, and it does make a difference.

    Thanks for your help.

Had the same problem with the same device under Windows. For me, I fixed it by going to control panel > network and sharing Center > view network computers and devices (this, while the camera tries to connect to your PC. I then click with the right button on my camera icon and click "install". Also, make sure that 'file and printer sharing' are on (my PC actually invited this). Don't know if this will help, but worked for me. Can now import wireless!

  • Problem connecting to internet wireless (Hp elitebook 8440p, windows 7 Professional)

    Hello

So this problem seems to be quite common, but in a different way. I read a lot of forums where users when it is unable to turn on their wireless option (via the button on the keyboard) However, I turn it works freely. I have full access to the internet with an ethernet cable, but am unable to connect to wireless networks. I'm a student and my University offers wifi to all buildings of the University, but even though I can access this wifi on my laptop, I can't on my laptop.

I know almost nothing about network connections and Internet / network adapters so I'm sorry if this is a silly question. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to connect to wireless networks.

  • Problem on Windows 7 computer network connectivity

The desktop of Windows 7 ether net connected, I had selective network problems. I was unable to access the Web sites, but had no problem to update software and connections to the game servers. I ran antivirus and optimizer software to solve the problem, but I think they may have removed some crucial programs for networking.  Now, I am unable to access the Internet related services all via ether net.

I tried to reinstall the driver for network card to the motherboard. Among network cards, the teredo tunneling adapter displays an error titled code 10. I tried the REGEDIT fix and reinstall the driver.  None of these solutions so far have worked.

I'm not sure whether the mistake of teredo is the cause, but it seems like a common problem. Anyone know how I might be able to solve this problem?

Keep in mind that if the person seeking assistance uses a router (instead of connecting directly to the modem), then you will need to redirect port configuration.  The request when she sends uses the IP address of his computer, but that the IP is not always accessible to the public.  For example, IP address of my PC is 192.168.0.4 (the 4th computer on my network at the present time), and this address cannot be used to connect to my PC.  You know my public IP address, so, I need the configuration of port forwarding to direct your incoming connection to my public address during my internal IP address (called traversal NAT, or network address translation).

There is a reason, I generally recommend free tools that use HTTP transport instead, like Team Viewer app free (for personal use).
