I have a Dell, Windows Vista (Vista Home Premium)
Is a flaw that causes the error to occur?
I am also unable to download QuickTime which is also required and available on apple.com
And where's a phone number that I can call microsoft for support? It's very frustrating not being able to talk to a person.
Microsoft Technical Support phone numbers

Microsoft U.S. Office locations

Online Assisted Support options

Microsoft contact information - Is supported by the phone number, Email

There is a time limit on how long Online Support is available to you the spirit, to get the thing to work seems to involve jumping through hoops in my opinion. Some things you have to do is to add sites to the IE Trusted Sites, allow ActiveX to run and possibly start IE by right clicking and selecting the option 'run as administrator '. Even in this case it can be successful, I am yet to find someone who contacted Microsoft through their online Support successfully, I suppose it should work, otherwise the person at the end of the right Microsoft got a real cushy job.

Recently, I tried to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes. The installation froze and since then I can not download iTunes ("is there a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your provider staff or the support package). I tried to go into the Apple software update, but I get a message "the parameter is incorrect." I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, then see if iTunes installs normally.
If not for general advice see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review other cases and a list of documents to support further down the page, in which case one of them applies.
More information area has direct links with the current and recent if you have problems to download, need to revert to a previous version or try the version iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for the problems of performance or compatibility with third-party software.
Your library must be affected by these measures, but it is also related to backup and recovery advice if necessary.

Hello
Hi Alan Brookman,.
Try the following steps:
Method 1: Temporarily disable security (including firewalls) software and check if you can download iTunes.
Check out these links:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-softwareIf disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

problem installing Windows while trying to download itunes
I am trying to download itunes and I always get an error to Windows Installer. I tried all of the corrective actions; uninstalling, reinstalling, revo, etc.. I don't know what to do now.
The computer is an Acer. Windows Vista. 32 bit OS. x 86.
Trying to download ITunes 9. I was able to download fully on computer, but the application would never open. The tab on ITunes has had an error in it. Could that cause problems with it? Started having problems with it when I updated about a month ago.
Please can someone help? I think maybe I should just clear everything and start over with my backup disks. I don't mind what to do if someone thinks it will work.
Thank you
Kim
Download, install and run the Windows Installer cleanup Utility at: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility-Download-18442.html and then try installation again to see if that helped.
If that doesn't work, put the installation on your desktop icon and right-click on it and click on run as administrator and see if that makes a difference.
If not, request the assistance of the technical support forums and iTunes at: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ and http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=149.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Asslam o aliakum. I have a problem with itunes 12.3.2 it is not downloaded the 10 windows and when I connect m iphone with itunes and want to update to 9.2 says please download itunes new version for ios 9.2... help me with this... How to solve this problem.
Greetings Dani56777,
Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!
I understand that you run Windows 10 and you must update iTunes to the latest version so that your iPhone will be recognized when connected. I do not know if you receive an error when you try to update iTunes or not.
If you need information on how to update iTunes, please follow the instructions in the following link.
Download the latest version of iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
If you receive an error or alert, you can consider removing iTunes and all of its associated components and then reinstalling fresh iTunes on your computer. That would give you the latest version of iTunes. If you need execute this process, please follow the steps described in the following article.
Remove iTunes Control Panel and its associated components
Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components in the following order:
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Hello
- Apple Application Support 32-bit
- Apple Application Support 64-bit
On some systems, iTunes can install two versions of the Apple Application Support. What is expected. If both are present, do not forget to uninstall both versions.
Do these elements in a different order, uninstall or uninstall only some of them. This could have unintended effects. After you uninstall a component, you may be asked to restart your computer. Wait to restart your computer until you finish remove all components.

Why cany you geniuses at microsoft, solve problems with mp11 on vista or allow to download mp12 on vista many of your loyal customers are completely frustrated by this situation and deserve a break after all without your customers that you would be out of business
You realize that the people here are all volunteers and have little or no affiliation with Ms.
Couple that with the fact that MS has retired from pillar supported vista casts doubt on any effort to correct or update. Time to upgrade
