Problem exporting to PDF, current document

I have a NEW document (Y).

It has a frame of text with the script for a voice-off short as its content.

I hit CMD + E (and I tried the file > export...) for export to a PDF file.

What is saved is a document I created yesterday (X) a totally different file. I don't know how it happens. I tried to export several times. I tried to rename the source and the exported file (note that there is no similarity in the names of two source files). I restarted the application several times...

I always get PDF X when you try to export Y INDESIGN.

Help me, Obi Wan.

False alarm.

Holy crap. After all the time 30... I realized, I just changed the text block of the Master Page, rather than the text block on the first spread... who HAD the bad text on it... #embarrassing

NOTE TO SELF: Make sure that in a single page document, you change the Page actually and not his mistress.

  • Problem: export Indesign pdf does not show pictures

    Hello

Earlier this week I asked something of the master (Indesign) thanks to your answers that I could quickly finish my book!

But now another problem occurred: when I export my indesign layout in pdf format, a few jpeg images (first scanned into the computer, put it in indesign) are being shown really good in indesign, but export, only half of the image! I wonder why...

I downloaded a Wordfile instead of the original pdf file because of size. In the wordfile you can see 3 simple viewed pages 49,54 and 55.

The photos are hand drawn and scanned, but they do not appear in Indesign, then why (some) not in pdf format? Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

Scanning and using Word may be part of the problem. When you say 'cut' do you mean to put in the Clipboard, and then paste in InDesign, or do you mean "reframe" like cutting off the unwanted image parts?

Can you analyze the images and record directly to disk in jpeg or tiff? It is best to use a good image like Photoshop Editor to clean scans, but if this is not available, you can "Place" the images directly in InDesign and do your cropping it.

This is a known bug in Acrobat. The conversion of PDF to Office documents was never designed to deal properly with the languages from right to left like Hebrew, Arabic and Farsi. There is no work around at this point.

Please help, when I pdf my document to single pages, it's showing a slice about 5mm of width of the following page on the current page. Why?

When you specify an inside bleed on PDF export of a document pages facing, which bleed area is at the edge of the other page in the spread. This is quite normal.

Most of the time do not need you to bleed inside and it is harmless and can be ignored, or you can set the inside bleed to 0, but if you need a purge of iniside and bleeding object does not continue through the spine, then you must divide the spread and extend the object. • InDesign CS6 crashing when exporting to PDF (not problem of fonts)

I tried to export my PDF with all the different types of settings. It is only an 8-page document. It has about 15 jpg low resolution in it. I used a font Adobe stock. There are several hyperlinks in the file, but for most it is just text. I have no idea how to solve this problem. And of course, I need it to work tomorrow. I get a message saying error it is the overlay text on 3 of 8 pages, but I don't think it's something that could cause this problem. Any ideas? Thank you!

  • Printing problem after export to PDF

When printing directly from InDesign, all right.

When exporting to PDF and print then get the question below. These lines of text are supposed to be the exact same color. On the first picture as you can see that he blue print, on the second it printed a light shade of gray.

Here's the interesting part. If I "print" to PDF via the print menu and then proceed to printing as PDF all right.

It is not specific, as has happened before, it also happens in several places on the document page.

Using CS5.5 on Windows 7 64 bit, all programs are up to date.

    Any suggestions?

Looks like the driver is having a problem with ligatures. Your doc don't seem too good, but try the wide of ligatures in ID and export a new PDF and see if this one will print.

  • Problems to export to PDF with ID 5.5 - specific symptoms

I hope that my problem symptoms are specific enough so that someone will have a good idea of what is wrong.

I have several files of chapter I use to create a file of single directory, I create the pdf file of. Here's what happens:

    1. when I click on the "print book" icon at the bottom of the address book window, ID will crash.

    2. so, instead, I click on the drop down at the top right of the window and select "export book to PDF.

    3. now it generates a pdf file but in the file pdf, some pages are with a single page of the ID file and some have two pages on a single PDF page, it appears very randomly.

    4. to work around this problem (or so I thought) I went to the preparation of the document ID and deselected the checkbox 'facing Pages '.

    5. as soon as I do, the header on the left side and the foot of all pages in this chapter to offset to the left. OK, so I'm going to the master page and realign.

    6. now export again in the way described above and the page numbering is all messed up in the pdf file. Even if the ID file (source) 6-1, 6-2 pages, etc. in the PDF each page will be marked as 6-1.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated! I use Windows XP.

First - steps 4 through 6 are unnescearry - I recommend you go back to the original provision.

If the problem persists, try to select individual documents in the book to export to PDF or print. It may be a specific file at the root of the problem.

If some pages are coming as 'spreads', then you must have facing pages in documents and unique pages in another document or something? I recommend that you disable spreads in the PDF and print settings.

It's a little uncertain about the structure of your document - and your document sizes. What are the dimensions of the document in all the individual chapters. Can you post some screenshots of the book panel - with each file in chapter (just a single or the spread of a page (s))

  • Page auto numbering problem if I export to PDF

I use IDS 5.5 with all updates. I set up a book and when I export to PDF for print, fourth chapter numbering remains the same (namelly pages 56 and 57) although I have implemented correctly master pages with the special character of AutoNumber. If I export only this chapter as a document, it exports all right. No problem with the numbers of the pages (?). In ID, the numbers look ok. I have not tried to print directly fron ID, I guess it will print ok, but it's a very strange behavior... Thanks much for any thoughts.

It is unlikely, that there is a problem with Acrobat, try opening this chapter only and exportingit to idml, then resave as indd.

  • Hyperlinks between documents in InDesign and export to PDF

I have a problem with links in InDesign CS5 for Mac and then export to PDF.

It links in InDesign is no problem, I select text and make an anchor text and then I select text more and make a hyperlink to the text anchor. Easy.

InDesign even lets create me a hyperlink to a text anchor in another InDesign document and that's exactly what I want to do.

I want to have a single document that refers to a specific paragraph in another document.

For example, a text that says: "For more information, please refer to the detailed information in the Document 2" and you can click it to open the Document 2 and navigates to the page that contains the detailed information.

Now, the problem I have is when I export to PDF - PDF Print format with hyperlinks etc marketed either as an interactive PDF.

Between documents hyperlinks do not work when I open the document in Acrobat. I use Acrobat X, I don't know if this is the problem because it does not work in Preview.app

When I look at his destination in Acrobat, it points to the PDF document, but anchor text makes reference to the InDesign document.

For example, the destination of the link (as reported by the link tool in Acrobat) is Macintosh HD:Users:kai:Documents:InDesign links: Document 2.pdf, but the destination name is Document2.indd:d2p2 (which is what I named my anchor text in InDesign, d2p2 for Document 2 Page 2)

Now, I know that interdocument links can work in Acrobat, as if I change the hyperlink in Acrobat specifically 2.pdf Document Page 2 so it works. I also have links in the Document 2 as a TOC that point to the anchor text d2p2 and they work within the document.

I have a document to produce with more than 100 hyperlinks to other documents and I really want to be able to do once in InDesign and not having to redo everything in Acrobat again.

I've set up two models InDesign CS5 documents as well as of their exported PDF files if someone wants to take a look at what I'm doing:

  • How can I add a link to a Pages document I want to export to PDF?

I want to add links to various web sites in a Pages 5.6.2 document (2573) I export and publish to PDF on my web site. How to go about creating a hyperlink in this version of Pages?  the old version of Pages contained an "Inspector" who allowed me to easily link the document to any web site. It also allowed me to insert the needed pages in my document. Now he just give me 'Section' leaves as if I complex page layouts instead of writing fiction (mysteries). • The size of my document in In Design print in a different size when I export to PDF

I made a document in In Design, which is 7x9.25' and it prints in the correct size when I print from In Design.  But when I export to PDF in Acrobat DC it prints more.  It prints to 8.5 x 11.  When I cut along the outline of the document, printing In Design is the exact size I want, but leave the PDF file, even after I cut along the outline, it is too much.  Is there a setting that I need to use in In Design before exporting to PDF print to the exact size that I created it in In Design?

    Thanks for your help!

    Angie

In Acrobat, place your cursor in the lower left corner of the screen and it will show you what your document is about the size. If the size of the document is correct, then I guess that when you print from Acrobat, which you 'Fit' selected under Page size and handling in the print dialog box. Make sure that 'real size' is chosen, and which should print in the right size.
