Problem in the rebuilding of the Windows Media Player library

I got to the step where you delete the files in the current library.  I have a large file that will not delete because it says that the "action is not possible because the file, the file is opened on the server of SBE.  I have no idea what it is, where to find and how to remove the file.  Can you help me to complete this final step to rebuild the library, can I? Please give me the specific steps needed to remove this file.  Thank you

    Hi corrlines,

    1. What is the exact problem you have with Windows media player?

You can't start over with the new library in Windows media player, but you can delete the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

(c), select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If the above does not solve your problem then clear cache of database of Windows Media Player files. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.

    (c) select the folder Media Player and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

  • Songs do not appear in the Windows Media Player library

WIndows Media Player 12 adding not songs

I got my new PC with Windows 7 this afternoon and more than 10,000 songs completely copied into the My Music folder.  None of these songs will appear in the library of Windows Media Player 12 songs. My Music folder is one of the libraries of WMP to default save location.  Only 3 songs are appearing in the library, and those are the three on the Public Music folder.  Yet when I add a song to the public music folder, it is added to the library. Then when I close WMP, and re - open, we are back to 3 original songs!  I spent an hour with HP support tonight and didn't get anywhere.  I tried the system restore.  I tried to restore the library.  I think that my WMP is maybe damaged.  Any thoughts on what I'm missing here?

I read this on another topic, try it.

Original title: Player Windows medis library - Playlist trouble

-J' have music files in my playlists that I can't make it appear in the library - how can I sync the two up - I tried the usual fall / drag...

    Hello

    1. is the specific issue of the reading list?

2 are you able to add other songs in the Windows Media Player library?

3 did you changes to the computer before the show?

The Player library is the location in the player that lists all of the music, videos and photos on your computer.

When you play a media file on your computer or a removable storage device, the file is automatically included in the Player library, so you can access it directly from the reader. And if you have access to remote media stored on other computers on your network, you can change the player settings to add those files remotely to the Player library when you play them. The reader does not automatically add a file that you play from removable media, such as a CD or DVD.

Since you aren't able to add songs to the library, you can try the following and see if they help.

Method 1: Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library

  • Music files are not listed in the Windows Media Player library

Music files were deleted from Windows Media Player. The need for a Solution.

AT & T Communication Manager, who gets my mobile internet card online, asked if he could deal with some updates.  I had only had the camera for a few days and assumed he was talking about some AT & T software.

Next thing I know he turned my internal computer to the outside.  Washed and folded it carefully but seems threw things into the pockets now.  I had to hunt for my documents, but a lot of things are different, changed my toolbars, settings on Open Office.  Cannot access some files.  He was asked to record a program I had a lot of time.  Nothing in the Windows Media Player I had the program adds a big chunk of my record mp3 files music.  But I think that much of the music in my eMusic account, which now has nothing in it, can be conveniently added (unless I'm going one by one I think).  Moreover, my eMusic Download Manager is empty.

I want to reverse sync my mp3 player but don't know how.  Should I get Windows Media PLayer 11?  I have Vista.

Thank you very much.  And if you can help without talking over my head I would appreciate it.

    Hey Asher,

1 are the music files on the physical hard disk?

Step 1: If music files are present on the hard drive, then we can manually add the files to themedia player library or create playlists accordingly.

Step 2: If the files are not deleted permanently from the hard drive, then restore the computer to an earlier time should help. To restore the computer to an earlier time when everything worked well, try the following steps.
    a. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    b. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
    c. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    d. click Finish.

  • The Windows Media Player library is missing in Windows XP

My Windows Media Player library has disappeared and I can't recover my music.  Please notify.

What version of WMP are you using?

You still see your music files in Windows Explorer? What is the file type (or types) of these files (MP3, WMA; (WAV)?

This could be caused by a corrupted media library. To reset the library, follow the instructions for your version of WMP and Windows at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

  • How do I delete the duplicate in the Windows Media Player library

    Repeated songs

I have covers of songs in my library and I don't see a way to remove the copy of them. For example, the same song 3 times listed in my library, and I don't want to hear this song three times. It is through my library. How can I remove the repetitions?

I suggest that you try to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

    -Restart the PC.
-Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop .
-Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
-In this folder, rename the folder Media Player as Old Media Player . If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
-Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt.

  • Not able to play songs directly from the Windows Media Player library.

Original title: Windows Media Player won't play songs unless I have...

WMP plays the songs, unless I directly go where the file is located and open like that.  It works just fine. The problem is a lot of work. I play usually just in my library on shuffle. Many songs will not play this way, though, but like I said, they work fine when I open the file from its location. There is a blue circle with an exclamation in it that says "WMP can not locate this file. The file may have been deleted or moved, or the path may be incorrect. "I checked the location, and they are there. Help, please!

Well, looks like your Explorer library WMP links are corrupt; You probably need to rebuild the library. Corruption occurs when files are moved or changed in the library of the Explorer... tasks of this nature must be always performed in the library WMP or the location of the file.

In a first step, go to 'Tools' - 'Advanced' (if you do not see 'tools' of the bar menu isn't showing, then go to "Organize" - "Layout" and select "Show Menu bar")-then click on "restore Library. WMP will then rebuild the library.
