Problem installing Windows XP Mode in 7 Winjdows
I have a problem installing Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Pro 64 running on a Dell Latitude E6510 laptop with an i5 processor and 8 GB of ram. This machine supports hardware virtualization, and it is enabled in the BIOS.
Before downloading software in XP Mode, the MS download required Windows validation Web site. Downloaded and reported validation validation and a successful installation. Then I downloaded Windows XP Mode (WindowsXPMode_en - us.exe, 481 052 KB) installation package and the package of Windows Virtual PC (Windows6 1 - KB958559 - x 64 - RefreshPkg.msu, 16 692-Ko). Then, I installed Windows XP Mode; the installation ran without any problems apparent and reported success.According to the docs of download site, the next step is to: "... click on the Windows 7 start button , and then select all programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode to begin the installation."My problem is Windows Virtual PC does not appear anywhere in the selection of all programs list - believe me, I looked. There is, however, a new directory calledc:\ProgramFiles\Windows XP Mode\but it contains no exe file. It contains a file of 1.2 GB called Windows XP Mode base.vhd - but it is not clear what to do with it. There is also a tutorial subdirectory.I tried to reinstall Windows XP Mode (without uninstalling first) but I just get a warning message that the program is already installed. Windows XP Mode appears on the list "Uninstall or change a program" in the module programs and features in Control Panel.I tried running (Windows6. 1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu(Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu, goal that throws error 0x8007000d, "The data is invalid."If at this point, my question is simple, "what to try next? Thanks in advance. The right way to install Windows XP Mode, you must first install Windows Virtual PC, and then install Windows XP Mode.
You must install both files:
1 Windows6. 1 - KB958559 - x 64 or x 86 architecture that you run
Restart the system, and then install:
2 WindowsXPMode_en-we
------------
Uninstall Windows XP Mode:
Click Start, type: programs and features
Press enter on your keyboard
Scroll down
Select Windows XP Mode
Click Change/uninstall in the command bar
Uninstall Windows XP Mode
-----------------
Restart your computer
Proceed with the installation of Windows XP Mode in the right order.
--------------
If it does not always show upward:
Click Start, type: enable or disable windows features
Scroll down
Make sure that Windows Virtual PC is checked
Click OK
Reboot if prompted

Problem installing Windows on Acer SW10. It freezes
Hello
I applied 'Reset your PC' on my Acer Aspire SW10 and after installing Windows and complete the installation, a screen appears asking you choose between English or Spanish languages, and the frozen screen. You can move between options with the tab key in the screen, but can not choose the language or by clicking on the 'next' button to continue. I turned off and tried to 'alt + F10' to access the reset menu, but appears again the same screen, unable to move either forward or backward.
I appreciate the help that you can give me about this.
I could solve it with your recommendation.
Thank you. -

Install windows and run via an external usb drive
I have windows7 and use laptop Dell 5110. the hard drive of the laptop does not work and that the hard drive on this laptop is good inside - you must remove the motherboard keyboard and all - it involves a lot of work to do. I'm not very good at this and would not take the risk to do this to replace the hard drive. I have the drive seagate external hard and wants to use it as the main drive and install Windows and all programs, with the USB connection. Windows 7 does not normally install on the external hard drive. y at - there no way to get around this without completely going to replace the hard drive.
Thank you for your support. You can do it, but it requires that you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise or Windows 8:

Windows vista problems install keyboard and mouse
I try to install windows vista ultimate on a new amd system I've built recently. The windows vista screen Boot starts well, but I can't go further with the installation because the keyboard and the mouse do not work.
To solve the problem, I booted up with a Linux distribution and I can use the keyboard and mouse and everything works fine. Initially, I bought vista using boot camp on my Mac and the keyboard and mouse work well with vista on this configuration.I want to upgrade to windows 8 thereafter, but I might need to buy the whole program, rather than the update if I can't do vista works. I don't want to spend money if I can't because I'm broke. Any suggestions?Parameters of the BIOS of some computers have a setting "Enable USB Legacy" to allow the keyboard to work without Windows running.
If you have PS/2 ports buy an adapter or a PS/2 keyboard. Most USB keyboards can be connected to a PS/2 port using a USB to PS/2 adapter.

Hello
just a quick question: is the recovery for Vista work? I mean, it sounds like a hardware problem, but usually if the machine worked well before, it must be another problem. The image that was created with nLite is maybe defective...
Would appreciate comments on your part.

Re: Satellite A300D-11 t - how to install Windows and software provided?
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300D-11 t (model: PSAK0E-00700DGE.) Due to the mistake of hard drive, hard drive has been formatted and I lost my OS. When I bought it two years ago, the laptop came with Windows Visa and other software. But I don't have any software CD this time except the mannual. Please help me how can I have my Visa settings or factory of origin.
Thank you
BenHi Ben,
The problem is that you must create this disk with Windows and all the drivers/tools yourself if it of not given with the computer. This can be done with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator who creates the Toshiba recovery disc. This disc contains a picture to factory settings (Windows with all the drivers and tools) and can be used to restore the factory settings every time.
So you need this disc to install Vista with the supplied software. In any case, now it s too late and you need to order such a drive of Toshiba directly but it s not for free:
https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspxOf course, you can install Windows on a normal disc of Microsoft, but then you must install all the drivers and tools yourself so recovery disk is the easiest way and pre-tested by Toshiba. ;)
