Problem installing G510n - "open cartridge access door.
I want to install a printer/copier/fax g510n - just installed the ink cartridges and still receive the error message 'cartridge access door open - closed door acess cartridge' even if I closed the door. I can't continue the installation. Suggestions?

My HP Potosmart C7280 AIO (all-in-one) is stuck with an error message.
Door open
Ink cartridge access door is open.
I have reeived a printer replacement in support of July 2008 and HP will not help because my original printer was purchased in Dec 2007.
Google did not help
Search HP support site did not help
User manual did not help.
I also tried this:
power off
Unplug the power cable
Wait a minute
Press and hold the "#" and "6" keys
Plug in power chords
Be patient
Wait for the white screen out.
Release the keys #6
Press the button power
... all of this in the hope that a false alert will disappear. There NO :-(
Experts out there?
Is - this firmware/hardware translation?
In the future, I'm not spending a dime more with HP unless this issue is resolved in a satisfactory manner.
Help to get forward.

I tried to plug the printer in holding together the "#" and "6". In the past it has helped to solve other problems of the firmware, but this time the message "access cartridge door is open" message remains on.
Nothing changed since the device was working properly (installation of SW, settings, wiring, etc.): Nop.

This is the first time that I need to replace the printer for my newish cartirdges (3mths or so old) printer but for the life of my I can not open the ink cartridge access door. It rises on the right side of the machine easily, but feel like I it break if I continue to force on the left side of the machine.
My question is is there a trick or a clip/switch that I need to use to open the printer, or I have to just give it a good hard yank?

HP Deskjet 3522 - cannot close the cartridge access door
HP Deskjet 3522. A open the cartridge access door to remove the paper jam. Door will not go all the way down. "Hook tab" on the side right will not lower or allow cover for rear seats in place. Any ideas? Thank you.
Fixed it myself. Fired manually capture tab right side out enough back pin on the cover and push down on the cover. Nothing broken and the printer works.

The printer may make noises if the transport cannot move freely. Return the document in the link below:

Under Solution 3, follow the steps to "check the way of transport for obstructions. Check and remove any loose paper or objects that restrict the movement of the cart left and right.
Note: Use a flashlight to light up the area.
If this does not help, follow the steps in order to ensure the "messages in the cartridge to the parking lot do not block the transport' and 'cartridges do not touch the printer cover.

J6840 cartridge access door does not close
I just replaced my ink cartridges. At the back of the access door are two sets of black bumps up and down. Tabs in one WILL NOT line up with the slots on the other. I can open the door of ac cess to the rear, limited by the Ribbon control. The printer will not do anything unless I can close that door and the back is always open about 3/4 ". How can I get these tabs to line up so I can close the door?
I tried to call technical support. Their solution was for me to buy a new printer.

6250 cartridge access door problem
My gateway 6520 ink cartridge just closed. If I have not even lift the scanner cover, door raises enough to give me an error message. Is it possible for me to adjust the hinges for the door sits firmly?
Jamieson, thanks for your response. I followed your link to contact HP, and I see that HP won't talk with you - even by electronic means - if your product is no longer under warranty. Pretty sad customer service.
I put some silicone on the tab that tells the printer that the door is closed. This should solve the problem.

Error message = close print cartridge access door
I've set up my new 4500 series printer and I can't get rid of this error message. I tried all the steps listed on the HP support site, but no help. I can't print at all.
There is a document with the steps to solve a door open error. This document can be found here. You say that you did all the steps on the HP support site, but make sure that no steps have been omitted in the document.
If the error persists, then try to perform a hard reset.
Hard Reset:
Unplug the unit when turned on
Disconnect the other end of the power cord from the wall jack directly
* Wait 30 seconds
* Connect the device upwards.If the error persists, then try a partial reset. This reset path can be found in the document located here. The 4500 is not listed, but the reset is the same as the Group of the top in the document (method 3 and #).
If this error continues to display after all these steps, then I recommend to contact HP Technical Support on this printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

My Office Jet J6480 CB053A cartridge access door is out of the hinges. I need instructions on how to reinstall the door. Any help would be appreciated of course.

If access it carries has been completely removed and detached from printing the part would need to be replaced. I suggest you to contact HP for a replacement, especially if the hinges are broken.

I have a new HP Photosmart 7520 e-all-in-one printer just out the box. I removed the tape and cartridge access door does not open more than 40 degrees. The figure represents about 80 degrees. I'm afraid to force it. I can't put new cartridges in the printer. Very frustrated trying to get help. It doesn't seem to be a phone number or Web site for direct assistance. HP has really gone down hill. Help!

network adapter AutoDetect fails
Hello:I installed in my laptop XP - SP3 PersonalFirewall of Privacyware and I have this problem: when restarting, always internet access isn't available (WiFi/LAN).
Using the command ipconfig, I found that these cards are not detected. (Although without wireless/LAN icons do not display the modem connection). Also, if I go into Device Manager, I see network cards. BUT if I select "research material changes", then the other adapters will appear (those of Privacyware) and internet connection is reset and it will work then. I wonder why windows does not detect this kind of cards automatically when I start it.This problem occurs only in my laptop - I installed the project Feederwatch on a laptop another XP and it worked, so Privacyware cannot provide a solution, since seems a very specific problem.

Seems that the solution was:
1 - Open Device manager and view the hidden devices.
2. then go into not connectable & play devices and manually delete all the remainers network software & security uninstalled (process antivirus, firewall, monitor).
3. several reboots were required in order to know if the garbage problem has been removed. -
When iTunes open get error, windows service install could not be accessed.
Fatal error during Installation
When I try to open I-Tunes, I get the message that the windows service install could not be accessed. This can occur when windows is running in safe mode or windows installer is not installed properly.I followed these steps and the programs have been removed form the revo uninstaller list but it still appears in the windows Uninstall list and I get the same error when I try to uninstall it - windows service install could not be accessed. I used revo to uninstall another program and it worked and disappeared in the two lists.

Cannot access the printer software after installing new ink cartridge
I installed new ink cartridges. It prints well but I can't access the printer on the computer action tab. I can't check ink levels, align the pages or check on maintenance. When I click on the folder of the printer it opens but it says it's searching for items. The printer of action file is not there. Anyone know what could cause this? I can't open the Toolbox of the product. What I have to reinstall the printer software, or is there something else I can do to fix this. I have windows 7 and a 3000 deskjet printer. Thank you.

The question most likley do not have much to do with the replacement of the ink cartridge.
Lately, HP has released a new software, due to the latest MS updates, you must update the software to get all the features.
Go to start > programs > HP > select your printer folder and follow uninstall them.
Now, download and install the new version of the software from here:
