Problem installing Windows XP on the Satellite A200-1VF

I'm trying to install Windows XP with SP2.
I created a new installation of Window XP with nlite disc and included the Storage Manager to get access to the hard drive.

I started with this new record of installations and allows to manage my hard drive.
Then it is formatted and files have been copied to the hard drive. After the 1 st reboot. takes place.

Windows XP logo appears logo disappears after a few seconds and it's time that the installation of 1 st screen.
But instead, it appears a box with a red X and an error message "for the given process is not enough quotas for virtual storage or the pagefile" 2 seconds later, the system will reboot and restart the installation and gets the same message and so on.

The system is already flashed with the BIOS V5.30 for XP.
To continue installing XP any help is appreciated.

Thanks Klaus

Hello

just a quick question: is the recovery for Vista work? I mean, it sounds like a hardware problem, but usually if the machine worked well before, it must be another problem. The image that was created with nLite is maybe defective...

Would appreciate comments on your part.

Welcome them

    > while I am trying to install windows XP on the laptop, its shows no hard drive installed
You need to install the SATA drivers!
The laptop supports the SATA controller and the drivers are not part of the Windows operating system.
The SATA drivers are in the Intel Storage Manager!
Read some threads here about this theme for more details! There are a lot of threads!

    > Can I get Raid for the laptop?
No, because the phone doesn't support RAID controller.

  • Need instruction how to install Windows XP on the Satellite A200-1AE

Hello someone can write a statement of installation of Windows XP Professional on this laptop?
    What I need before instalation?

I have a oryginal Windows XP. Drivers which I must have before? And what about the safe?

I guess that my SATA drive PC and installation of XP does not support.
Can I burn driver on the CD? Because I have no FDD.

    Thanks for help.

    You need instructions?
Search this forum for similar discussions on this topic.
    You will find many threads!

    But here's a little tip;
You must include the Intel matrix Storage Manager in the XP installation.
Without the iMSM OS XP can't find HARD drive!

The iMSM can be installed by using the USB FDD drive or you can create a new XP CD using the freeware tool called nLite.

After the installation of the OS, you must download and install the drivers of Toshiba of the European driver Tosh page.

PS: should check the driver installation instructions txt file before you start to install the Toshiba XP drivers

  • Install Windows 7 on the Satellite M100

I have the Satellite M100-JG2 (PSMA0C-JG200E). I would like to install Windows 7. The Toshiba does not list the compatible M100. The Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor points on certain issues, but I don't know how it's easy to overcome them.

I read on another forum that the touchpad does not work after the upgrade, but this was solved by installing a Synaptics driver. Otherwise, I see people announced the upgrade succeeded with no other info. Can someone tell me if they have been successful or not to undertake this upgrade, all the problems that they led in to and how they have solved their?

The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor provides the following information (I remove personal programs):
All the systems pass (I have only 1 GB of RAM if, so do not know if it is too little, even if it is passed)
    Pass all devices

    Program questions:
TOSHIBA ConfigFree version 5.90.05 (don't know if I still need this)
    Version 1.39.0.4C of TOSHIBA hardware
    1.39.0.5C TOSHIBA supervisor password version
TOSHIBA Alps Pointing - device Driver version 6.0.2.186 (is this touchpad)
Version client and Host Security Platform 104.0.14.2

Any help or advice would be welcome before I attempt this upgrade.

    Thank you!

Win 7 Vientiane does not contain Flash cards! You must install separately.

Take a look on the Satellite L500 driver area.
You'll find the VAP and Flash Card Utility for Win7

I recommend reinstall these two tools again

  • Windows XP on the Satellite A200 1HU

Is it possible to get a CD/DVD of Windows XP for a Satellite A200-1HU recovery?

No, this is not possible. You can only order the Toshiba Recovery CD with the operating system preinstalled on your A200.
In your case, it s a Vista and so only the Vista recovery CD can be bought.

But if you need to use XP on your laptop, then uses the XP of origin of the Microsoft C and then install all the Toshiba XP drivers available from the diver page.

    Good bye

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1N2 PSAE3E and I don't want Vista on my laptop. I downgraded the bios to V5.30 but still cannot install windows xp and there is still no optin for SATA in the bios.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Did you install the SATA drivers first?
You need this driver to recognize the HARD drive!

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

You must perform the installation of an external USB FDD drive using the F6 key during the installation of Win XP.

  • Problems with MSN messenger on the Satellite A200-175

    Hello world

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-175 with Vista home premium OEM Act.
I have this laptop for a year and a half. Right from the beginning I had many problems with MSN messenger. Whenever I'll have conversations, or MSN messenger is just on, it gets bogged down.

I tried everything to fix the problem:
    -removed MSN and downloaded again
    -tried other versions of MSN
-tried MSN with and without messenger plus!
-removed Norton anti virus (a human from a computer store told me that might be the problem)
    -installed new my computer everything
-Make a new email address (this time it @live instead of @hotmail)
    -stop the Starter sets

    But nothing helps!

    I'm desperate...
    Please, can someone help me?

    Good bye

    I see many things possible were tired and I have o say I would try the same thing, but I lack one important thing;

Have you installed updates for Vista together? I mean there are a lot of new MS patches and fixes available and new in SP1 came out too.

So I think you should keep the OS always up-to-date to ensure a good working order

  • Is it possible to install Windows XP on a Satellite A200-1CR

Hi all. I have an A200-1CR with vista. This OS does not work very well and I can not install a lot of programs that I use. So, is it possible to remove Vista and install Win XP pro instead? What about drivers? Can I install the drivers for Vista to XP? If not, anyone know when toshiba released drivers for win XP? Thank you!

To my knowledge at this time not all XP drivers are available for the Sat A200 because this is a whole new model.
If you won't find compatible drivers then try to use the drivers from the series of laptops with the same hardware configuration or wait for the next version.

    (b) how do I put on a Windows 7 ultimate installation disk?

Appreciate any help I can get

    Thank you in advance.

    Grail

    Hey, Grail,.

The driver you need is called Intel Storage Manager. You can download it on the page of Toshiba or Intel directly. You can copy the files on a USB key for example, it should be possible to load on USB.

In addition, Windows 7 isn't released yet, and in the worst case, we expect that drivers support begins for Windows 7. For the moment, you can only try to use the Vista drivers.
